The Tivoli Alvor Algarve Resort is highly regarded for its cleanliness and enviable location, with easy access to the beach and nearby towns. Guests enjoy a vibrant atmosphere and a variety of amenities, including pristine pools and diverse dining options, though some find the lively environment a bit noisy. While the staff is often commended for their friendliness, there are occasional reports of slow service.
The modern rooms are typically well-received, yet a few maintenance issues have been noted. Despite these praises, some guests feel the value is compromised by food quality and extra costs.

The resort is beautiful and staff are lovely especially the staff at the adult pool. Rooms are very modern, couldn’t hear a sound from next door. Air con worked well , a bit disappointed in the mini bar as I had read it would be filled when we arrived and if we wanted anymore we would have to pay however all that was in it was two bottles of water as we were all inclusive it could have had wine and soft drinks also the sink in the bathroom didn’t drain away very well but apart from that I couldn’t fault it. All areas were very well kept , pools areas were lovely but the adult pool especially nice would have been nice to have had a little music at the pool. We used the train to get to the town during the day which was great and at night got a taxi for around 7 euros . Could walk to the beach in around 10 mins. The only issue was the food, the Italian restaurant did a very nice pizza but the buffet was very repetitive and the snacks offered were pork and sausages every day would have loved a proper snack bar with toasties etc , but on the whole was a great hotel that looked good for couples, families etc.

Arrival
Staff greeted us with big smiles and refreshing drinks, first impressions count and the reception area staff were first class from the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. After checking in we were driven to our room in a golf cart and given a brief tour of the resort.
Room
First floor of a 2 storey block on a gentle incline from the reception area. Modern and clean with TV , balcony comfortable king bed and adequate pullout sofa bed. Bathroom was modern and well designed.
Resort
Set on a gentle incline there are a selection of pools on a tiered terrace, lots of sunbeds and the area is well maintained by the attentive staff.
Snack bar beyond the top pool serving fruit and light snacks throughout the day and drinks only bar at the bottom of the pool area are well staffed and pleasant.
There is a kids club and kids pool area set apart from the main pools and although we didnt use them they appeared to be well received.
The spa has a small gym and pool with treatment rooms , steam and sauna + a jacuzzi, a nice place to spend a few hours.
Main buffet style restaurant has plenty of choice each day and again the friendly staff shine out to give help whenever needed and ensure your needs are catered for.
The pre book restuarants are a pleasant change from the buffet and we had no problem in booking these a day in advance at reception.
The evening entertainment was repetitive and not upto much really but we generally only stayed until the kids disco was completed at 10pm.
Location
You can access a realy nice beach with coves and a restaurant by taking the foot bridge from the main entrance and a 10 minute walk through trees along a steady pathway or alternatively use the hotel landtrain. If you do use this option the dropoff point is further along the beach amongst large open areas where pedalos and sunbeds etc can be hired.
Overall
We spent a relaxing 5 days at this resort in May Half Term, the weather was perfect for us around mid 20's and the complex was probably only half full. It was a really enjoyable stay and the highlight was undoubtedly the incredible staff making every effort to ensure we had the perfect time - we hope to return to a TIVOLI resort soon.

Family of 4 kids 9 and 12.
Check in and rooms: arrived before noon with almost an hour wait at reception to be informed they would text when room ready.
But luggage would be held for us. People all around reception Unpacking change of clothing.
Room became available 3pm , fresh, clean, and modern but cramped for the 4 of us. The main bed, though, was very comfortable and a nice south facing balcony (but only 2 chairs).
Restaurants and bars. I am really impressed with drinks available. Quality fresh made premium cocktails and red bock larger on tap. Even made kids mocktails, too.
Food disappointing, hand sanitisers wouldn't go a miss, and younger kids should be supervised as I witness lots of little bare hands dipping in and out of salad bar and desserts. Choice is not the best. We are not a burger and nuggets family, and the omelette station in the morning is eggs from a carton that didn't appeal.
Pizza and steak in the reservation Restaurants were nice.
Pool and entertainment:
Pool towels and loungeers were like gold dust, and a 7am wake-up call seemed to be the answer.
Entertainment way too loud and really not to our taste, lots of other family's ended up at the quieter salty bar in the evening entertaining themselves with cards etc.
Cleaning was not the worst, as sheets seemed to be changed most days and fresh bath towels that were of good quality. But although the floors where mopped daily I didn't once witness anyone sweeping beforehand so dirt was just moved around the floor and the corridor was not swept or mopped the 10days of our stay, that definitely needs seeing to.
Overall, there is a little way to go to be the 5star it could be.

Currently 2 nights into our 8 night stay and not particularly impressed. When first arriving at the resort we were ‘wow’ed by the lovely interior design, the helpfulness of staff to help with bags and the welcome reception of drinks (all topped off by a lift to your accommodation on the golf type buggies). The rooms are spacious, well designed and the temperature controlled by an easy to use air conditioning unit. House keeping keep the room tidy and even turn down your beds at night. The pools, although extremely cold, are well maintained and staff around the pool take drinks orders and deliver them to your sun beds. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
The food is inadequate. On our first night, we dined at the rustic restaurant. Drinks orders were forgotten multiple times but this was nothing compared to the food. A party of 6, 2 meals were served after an acceptable wait bur the others were forgotten (perhaps served to another table?!). We then waited approximately an hour and a half for the remaining meals that came out not looking anything like the first (the steak half the size and look butchered on the plate, overly vinegared vegetables and completely different chips).
The second night we dined at the Carosello restaurant serving Italian food. The pizza was average (particularly doughy base) but 2 party members ordered beef and were served pork (and told it was beef initially- what if this was a meat not eaten due to religious beliefs/ dietary requirements?!). After waiting again for the correct meal to then be served, it came out cold. This resulted in us leaving the restaurant and attempting to dine at the buffet restaurant. Unfortunately this experience continued to be negative. Food is warm at best, unlabelled so a complete guessing game and a very small selection.
What has the potential to be such a wonderful hotel has completely let us down. Feeling very short changed and disappointed.

Me and my family 2 adults and 2 children and another family 2 adults and 2 children visited here 11th aug -18th aug.. the rooms are very nice and cleaned everyday , in each fridge when arrived there was 4 bottles of water, 2 bottles of lager and a big bottle of champagne. The air con in the room is brilliant but you have switch it on when the big balcony door is closed witch Is easy. . 3 Pools are great and kids loved them.theres an adult pool but didn't go in it but looked really nice. Theres a kids splash pool with a slide about a foot deep witch the smaller kids seemed to be enjoying. Kids club is for 3-6 year olds, any older its not suitable. The bar, restaurant, pool staff are absolutely amazing! Always smiling and can't do anoth to help, there is big issues on the front desk witch stood out to every family every time we went there was someone always having problems with them.couple of them don't smile and constantly sour faced, but didn't effect our holiday. They had different entertainment on every evening most of it very good. . The drinks are very good and quality! The buffet food is very good with a big selection for adults and kids etc chicken nuggets, burgers ,chicken, pork chops, pizzas, chips etc... massive selection of different foods and puddings where amazing. Alvor is a lovely little village with lots of shops and restaurants so well worth a visit.Theres a beach walk about 10 mins witch is a beautiful beach with coves etc.. I've done a few vlogs on this place and gotta post a few more on YouTube. Few tips the zoomarine and splash and slide is great but you need 2 full days at least to cover everything, summer holidays you need 3 full days. Download the Uber app for transport if heading out of complex...All in all its a fantastic place for couple and familys with a few teething problems but can't be easily sorted..

We spent 10 wonderful days at the Tivoli Alvor Algarve Resort in September 2023.
The well-kept hotel complex is very spacious and the individual buildings are a maximum of 2 floors high.
We can recommend the hotel and will visit it again.
The hotel is a short distance from the beach. However, this can be easily reached in 10 minutes via a bridge over the road and a path through adjacent hotel complexes (Praia dos Três Irmãos).
Alternatively, the hotel offers a shuttle service (every 30 minutes in high season, every hour in low season) to Alvor beach (Praia de Alvor).
On arrival, we and our luggage were taken to our room in a golf cart. The rooms are located in 2-story buildings that are spread across the complex.
Our room was very nice, modern, bright and friendly with a lovely balcony with afternoon and evening sun. There are bathrobes, a very good hairdryer and high-quality cosmetic products (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body cream).
The air conditioning can be individually adjusted and works perfectly.
The hotel has various restaurants. The main restaurant Essenz, the grill and steak restaurant Roastic and the Italian restaurant Carosello, each with beautiful outdoor areas. We visited all the restaurants and were very satisfied. The food is very good and varied. We would like to highlight the Carosello, where the service was particularly warm and attentive.
As a Premium All Inclusive guest, we had the opportunity to have breakfast in the Roastic, which was very pleasant, because it is particularly quiet and cozy here. If you wish, you can have egg dishes prepared by a breakfast cook. The selection at the buffet is very good.
In the afternoon you can eat either in the main restaurant or in the snack bar.
The meal times are very generous, so that there is the opportunity to get something to eat throughout the day.
The drinks (all inclusive) are very high quality and only branded products are used. All cocktails are freshly prepared (no ready-made mixes). Wine, water, etc. are served at the table in the restaurants.
The general manager, Mar Bayo, and her entire team are very committed and concerned about the well-being of the guests. The employees in all areas are very friendly. Communication takes place mainly in English. During our stay, however, there were also German-speaking employees in some areas. Despite the all-inclusive package, there was a drinks service at the table in both the bar and the restaurants - very good.
There are 3 pools for adults & children and an "adults-only" pool. All pools are very nice and well-maintained and were never overcrowded during our stay. There were always enough loungers and high-quality parasols.
There was a drinks service at both pools or you could get drinks at the two bars directly next to them.

We have just returned from a week's holiday at the Tivoli Alvor and would like to share some of our experiences. Firstly I would like to mention the staff at this particular hotel, from the moment we checked in, the reception, bar, and restaurant staff were very pleasant, and helpful and made us feel very welcome.
Regarding the staff, I would like to say a special thank you to a member of the housekeeping staff of block 2 where we stayed. Marina looked after us and our room during our holiday, nothing was too much trouble you only had to ask and she would do her best to fulfill our request. Marina was always happy, smiling, and polite whenever we saw her, and thanks to Marina she made our stay a delightful experience. She is a credit to the Tivoli and a very professional member of the hotel staff.
The hotel is about a 20-minute walk to the town of Alvor which has a large variety of bars and restaurants and if you do not fancy the walk back you can get an Uber for about 4 euros. The Beach is about a 10 min walk and has a very large sandy beach where you can hire sun beds and umbrellas, a word to the wise prices and times did seem to differ depending on which part of the beach we chose to sit on.
The hotel has four pools, one of which is an adult-only which was a bonus as there were only the 2 of us and we were able to sunbathe and swim in a peaceful setting. The restaurant was extremely busy(some would say chaotic) at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but I would say that the staff did a great job in dealing with the daily situation.
Now I do have to mention a few negatives regarding the dining room, only one toaster to service the whole dining area!! There were 2 speciality coffee machines but 1 kept breaking down. I struggled to find hot water apart from the coffee machines which meant standing in a long queue of people trying to work out how to use the machines. The staff did serve hot water from teapots but it was only lukewarm.
This now leads me to our biggest disappointment which was the temperature of the hot food, it was lukewarm and on some occasions, it was even cold which meant we either left it or queued again to try another food option. This is not the first time we have encountered hot food issues on our holidays aboard it seems a very regular occurrence, some hotels have tried to solve the issue with the addition of microwaves(although not ideal it does give you the choice if you so wish to reheat your meal).
Overall we did enjoy our holiday and would return if the food temperature issue could be improved, Our lasting memory would be the staff, they were the key to the enjoyment of the holiday and deserve a special mention.

Dear Sweatyfeet, Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review following your recent stay at Tivoli Alvor. We are truly delighted to hear that you enjoyed your holiday with us, and that our team, particularly Marina from housekeeping, made a lasting positive impression. We are incredibly proud of our staff, and your kind words will certainly be shared with her and the rest of our team. It's wonderful to know that her professionalism and warm demeanor enhanced your experience. We also appreciate your detailed feedback regarding the dining experience. While we are pleased that you found our team to be responsive and attentive, we are truly sorry for the inconveniences you encountered, particularly with the temperature of the food and the breakfast setup. Please rest assured that your comments have been shared with our culinary team, and we are taking steps to ensure improvements are made. Your suggestion regarding microwaves is noted, and we will certainly explore options to enhance the dining experience for our guests. We are glad that despite these issues, your overall experience was positive, and that you enjoyed the peaceful setting of our adult-only pool and the nearby amenities in Alvor. It is our hope that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Tivoli Alvor in the future, where we will do our utmost to provide an even more seamless and enjoyable stay. Thank you once again for your feedback and preference. We look forward to your return. Warm regards, Tânia Costa Guest Relations

Stayed for 10 nights, took the reception staff 25 minutes to sort our room keys then we had to wait another 25 minutes to be shown to our rooms. Will list the positives then the negatives.
POSITIVES
Good decor in hotel
Good size rooms
Rooms and Hotel very clean, cleaners do a great job
No rowdy guests
Superb wifi through the complex
Enjoyed the food (not great for kids though)
NEGATIVES
I messaged hotel ref rooms etc a week before arrival and got no reply
Some staff a bit miserable and could do with training
Sunbeds very uncomfy and very low, like 3 inches of the ground
Also no seating at all poolside
We got bad backs from the sunbeds and even the bar has no comfortable seats
Loud music by the pool from 11am , very annoying, not just me other guests hated it also
The complex keeps u fit as its on a hill
Nothing near hotel u need a taxi (ubers are cheap though)
Kids and adult entertainment hot and miss. (Most guest from UK yet the guy long hair speaks zero English)
Did enjoy the stay, but felt the Hotel could do better, at some places a manager walks about asking guests if everything is ok, asking for feedback, but not here. In the UK this would be a high 3 star or 4 star hotel.

Bom dia,
We are currently staying at the Tivoli Alvor Resort. What's with all the negativity? Be more like us, be positive, and reap the rewards!
We arrived on Wednesday and were checked in immediately. We then proceeded to book both the steakhouse and Italian for this weekend and for the times that we requested. The hotel porter then ferried us and our cases to our apartment in block 4 on a golf cart, a great act of kindness as my wife has recently had knee surgery. On entering our apartment, which was immaculate, we were beyond pleased with the amenities. Coffee pod machine, stocked fridge, large TV etc etc. We generally eat in the main Essenze restaurant, which is mainly buffet style with a bit of theatre cooking. Due to the busy footfall, the dishes are not lidded, but the food is never cold as some say, and is frequently replenished. I'm coeliac, and it is great to have both gluten-free bread and cakes available. Other dietary needs are catered for on request, but vegetarian/vegan is readily available. ALL the staff are professional and amazingly friendly. The waiting staff are great at replenishing your glasses and general housekeeping. Whilst the bar staff go above and beyond in serving you a great drink. The reception team has been exceptionally helpful from taking bookings to organising taxis to answering general questions. Thank you. Rooms are cleaned daily to an exceptional level, with all items being replenished. The housekeeping team is also very friendly and approachable. We have another 7 days to go, which we're looking very much forward to. Time split between the hotel, beach via the hotel land train, or a short taxi into Alvor. Perfect!! 👌🏻

+1
Just back from great holiday at Tivoli Alvor. As we arrived at hotel we were greeted by amazing porters/reception staff who took our cases and gave us drinks to welcome us. We checked in and although rooms weren’t ready (only 10am) our cases were put on secure luggage room and we could go use all the facilities straight away. We received a text when the room was ready so we could then go and unpack. The rooms are layed out in 11 two storey blocks around the complex. We were in block 4 which was great for us as it was right by both the adult pool and Essenze buffet restaurant. The room was spacious. Large area with king size bed, dressing table, sofa and table. Good wardrobe space and drawers but only 8 hangers. Fridge had water in ready for us. Safe is easy to use. The TV has information about the hotel, its restaurants, spa etc as well as a number of English speaking TV channels. We had read reviews about the food being cold in the buffet restaurant, we didn’t experience this at all. We enjoyed a good choice of food, especially if you like fish with lots of wonderful fresh fish over the week including John Dory, sea bream and cod. We ate in the Roastic a la carte one night and had a very tasty chateaubriand steak. We also chose to eat in Carosello, the Italian restaurant on two occasions and again couldn’t fault the food or the service. We only used the adult only pool and have to say it was very relaxing. The whole area was clean and obviously well looked after. The staff were great, whether it be giving you towels or fetching drinks and always with a smile and a way that made you feel welcome. The family pools looked amazing too, 3 tiered next to each other, again kept immaculately. The restaurant and bar staff were also excellent, helpful and extremely friendly. The whole place was kept to a very high standard whether it be the cleanliness of rooms, bars, restaurants or pools or the facilities and staff. The only thing that stopped me giving this 5 stars was the entertainment for adults. We found this to be the one area that needs improvement. The karaoke was dominated by children and I wouldn’t expect this to be the main entertainment for an evening but more after the main event. We found the magic act quite poor and other entertainment not up to the standard we had hoped. This wouldn’t however put us off going again as we instead sat in ‘Salty’ bar having drinks and enjoying good conversation with others. Great hotel, brilliant staff will definitely be returning to Alvor

Hi ,we never paid extra for Premium service.I did have Smirnoff Vodka on the normal service, you have to ask for it.I think if you ask the bar man what other brands are included he will tell you .
Didn't see any table tennis or pool tables unfortunately.
I took a some stunning sunsets photos while standing just outside the main buffet entrance. I captured the palm tree line and the beach in the distance 🌅
