We've spend a week in the hotel with family and friends. Hotel is really great located, right on the ski slopes, and having all the needed facilities to accommodate skiing. At the same time the rooms are large, clean, staff and the owners family are really friendly providing exceptional service and extra effort to pamper the guests. Food is really well prepared, dinner is gourmet style and really delicious. Every day different menu and activities for everybody. Big kids playground, pool and spa.

Really enjoyed the time spend and will visit again.

We visited for a long weekend with three kids. The room was spacious, kids really liked the bunk bed. First the hotel felt like a maze, but we soon figured our way out. The food was delicious, great choice of breakfast. For kids it was buffet dinner, for adults à la carte. The playroom was absolutely amazing: 3 levels high, with wall climbing, bungee jumping, slide, table tennis, hockey and a lot more. Our kids simply loved it. The ski depot is great, upon exit you can indeed ski to the chair lift in the valley. The ski school is about 150 m away from the hotel on feet. We very much enjoyed our stay. The area is beautiful, the hotel staff very helpful and kind, everyone very attentive. We will return.

We arranged a weekend getaway in Nassfeld and chose this hotel because it was the only one open this time of the year. What a suprise!
Great location in the center, spacious rooms and perfect dinner buffet.
Friendly staff, lots of activities and great wellness area. The best suprise was a small "bajta", ex mountain lodge, today Winkelalm, (near Pontebba road to Nassfeld), suggested by hotel (the owner is the same). Great spot for refreshment after a whole day of hiking.
Gullashsuppe , apfelstrudel and a funny cook were highlight of the day.
Thank you for your hospitality, see you again!!!

This was our 5th time in a run at the Gartnerkofel and as usual we had a super time. The hotel is run efficiently and everything in the hotel up to standard. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help with any queries. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and every day cleaned thoroughly by cheerful cleaning staff.
After a full day of skiing the wellness area awaits you were you can really relax. There are different saunas so room for everybody and this year another new addition, Jäger Traum, which it really is. Old beams in the ceiling construction and various hunting trophies decorating the inside. Another sauna with exquisite taste.
The food in the evenings was excellent especially the fish buffet, just looking at the spread makes your mouth water. I wasn't so happy with the hot breakfast buffet this year as everything was very greasy, possibly the eastern countries influence, but it didn't bother me as there is so much choice in cold cuts, cheeses, fruit and cereals. I also found the afternoon snacks sometimes very greasy, but this is all a matter of taste.
So if you're thinking of going skiing to Nassfeld and looking for a hotel were you can ski directly from and to it, this is the place to go. You won't regret it.

This was our 4th time at the Hotel Gartnerkofel in Sonnenalpe, Nassfeld and as usual it was great. Mr. and Mrs. Waldner do everything to make you feel at home, a great family atmosphere, and that is why they have so many regular guests. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and pamper your wishes. The rooms are well designed and have integrated sitting area with table, also a lovely comfy sofa. The bathrooms are also very spacey.
The food is excellent with lots of variety, sometimes theme buffet and other evenings a choice from 3 menus with, of course, starters, soup, salad buffet, desert and cheese. Wednesday is fish buffet and I have never seen such a spead, it’s a masterpiece, with a huge selection of fish including lobsters, king prawns, mussels, shrimps, salmon etc. etc. etc. There are also hot starters and for the main course different types of sea and lake fish. Do I make your mouth water? For those who don’t eat fish other dishes are offered. The arrangement you have when booking is for half board but every day a snack is laid on at lunch time. It varies from cold cuts, gulasch, Corinthian hot sausages, ‘Kaiser Schmarrn’ and always a salad buffet. One day Mr. Waldner cooks the traditional speciality of frigga with polenta and spare ribs outside on an open grill. Schnaps is on the house and there is of course super Apres Ski music.
The hotel has a great location as you are directly on the slopes. It is a large skiing area and offers slopes for everybody, from beginners to advanced skiers. A great place, we love it and have already booked again for next year.

It is not a 4-Star hotel in our opinion. The food was not bad (but not to a 4-star standard), but not as good as you get in a Austria alm/restaurant (for instance). The direct surrounding of the hotel is asphalt, and not the mountain meadows you see on their website and marketing photos. With all-inclusive you expect to eat all day. But you could only eat between 08.00 - 10.00h and 18.00 - 20.00h. In between you can only get drinks, and around 16.00/16.30h some cakes/cookies. The coffee was horrible (and most of the times cold). The staff was friendly, the serving staff too friendly by take off the dishes before you finished eating.

We were in this hotel in January with my family (3 children). My first impression was not so good because we were accommodated in the older part of hotel, there was little bit of cold in our room. The children play room was small and dirty. But...

But, service was really amazing. They solved our cold room immediately, then it was very good. Food was very tasty, for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well. Waitresses did a very good job, always very active. All non alcoholic drinks were for free, which was fine mainly for our children.

All staff was willing to help you all the time.

The pool is small, but never mind. My children like it very much, we spent there every day almost 2 hours.

I really appreciate all services very much. I strongly recommend this hotel. There is going to be new 3 floor children playing room, so it will be very big advantage of this hotel. Go there!!!!

And because this playroom was not finished at that time, we received 5% discount!!

We are working people with only 1 week holiday. Because of bad weather we decided to leave to give out children à smile. They did not enjoy walking in THE rain or another day rafting with 12 degrees. Instead we drove to legoland to enjoy THE remaining of last days holiday.

That warm Gandner feeling is changing to a money wolf. you want us to pay nights that we did not stay.

We even received Bill for drinks and we Booked All inclusive.
