This resort is a little older than the others in this private beach area, but the location is absolutely perfect!! The small pool that overlooks the ocean is great. The people who work here are also super accommodating.

The only problem, which is a big one if your going to stay in your room a lot was the smell in the bathroom. Our bathroom in the suite next to the pool smelled like raw sewage. A little disappointing, it was unbearable to even think of bathing in the stench, but I personally was rarely in our room.

Another added plus about this place is that you can snorkel right on the same beach you are staying. There is a lot of sealife, not a ton, but enough to keep you swimming and snorkeling.

Overall, this resort is great due to location and it is much less in cost than the neighboring resorts. We loved our stay here.

Not quite sure why it’s listed as “Lima” on here when I stayed it was “Kerala” but staff are lovely and it’s beautifully placed on the beach with a lovely pool and restaurant. The rooms are basic and small but good value for money. It does seem to be in an area that sadly keeps the smell of fuel from the beach fire dances which isn’t nice to eat to.

Take your true love (or whoever you consider sexy and who really wakes you up and then go here! Blue sky and clear green sea, sandy beach and hot inspirational aromas! It's just great!
And that's it
Absolutely nothing to do otherwise
Hotel is clean, people are friendly, prices are 3X Pattaya
Good atmosphere, small pool at the seaside
PS when visiting Ko Samet for one day - go here. Otherwise you will stay with thousands of island seekers smelling boat gasoline

After two weeks in Pattaya, I needed a break! I saw an ad for the Lima Coco Resort at the hotel I was staying at in Pattaya, and made reservations via email. From Rayong it was a 10 minute speed boat ride to Koh Samet island. The resort reps met us on the beach, carried our luggage ashore and brought us a cool fruity drink during check in. The resort is set in the side of a small coastal mountain, totally covered with tropical foilage and flowers, it was beautiful.

The staff was very friendly and attentive, the food excellent and the open air bar quaint and relaxing.

Ou accomodations were at the top of a flight of cut coral stairs, where a gentle breeze blew during the evening, and a cool rain fell during the night to freshen the air. Really top notch accomodations and service.

I will be heading to the Lima Coco again, I give it my highest recommendation!!

We were quite disappointed with Lima Coco at Ao Phrao, Koh Samet.

The room was not up to the standard for the price paid. First time I went to a beach resort and find myself in a small room without balcony nor terrasse.

The hot water shower was not working very well ont the room. Imagine showering a child and the water alternate between very hot and very cold and not stabilising at all no matter where you turn the knob. Imagine also the reaction of the child at every shower.

No international TV except 2 channels : one arabe and one in english. The rest is THAI. The tv was just sitting nicely in the room like a beautiful decoration.

Breakfast was not very good in the 1st day, it was fixed and we have no choice. Two days later, we get a buffet from 8 to 9.30a.m.. However, please keep in mind, at Lima Coco, 9.30a.m. means that at 9.30 .am. not one minute less nor more, there will be NO MORE food, all the tables are cleared. My husband signaled this to the manager as he came down at 9.20a.m. and the manager, Mr. Joe with a very rude and disdain way, waved him off like a fly and walked off on my husband in the middle of his sentence. I received the same "fly waving off" treatment from the manager Joe when I went to confront him and told him nicely that he could just explained to us nicely.
I think that manager should be taught to at least answer customers nicely and with respect.

This is such a waste as the beach is really nice and the location is good. Furthur discussion with other friends in Bangkok received the same comments that the service is not very good at Lima Coco.

It is for sure that I will not recommand this place to anyone else.

Stayed at the Lima Coco for 4 nights in March 2006 with my father. Had a very pleasant stay.

Pros:
- Quiet location (only 3 resorts on the West side where Lima Coco is located). If you're going to Samet to party, this probably isn't the right location for you.
- Can walk to Sai Kaew within 20 minutes... not too far.
- Staff at hotel & restaurant very pleasant and helpful.
- Private ferry that services the hotel directly.
- Clean rooms (although somewhat basic).
- Great food.
- 24/7 electricity, running water and airconditioning.
- Nice beach - Just stay to the right to avoid the rocks.
- Great price - I asked about discounts when I booked and the hotel offered me one (20% off). I booked directly with the hotel.

Minor concerns:
- Our room had a couple small holes where the floorboards met the wall; the first night we had a gecko appear through one of the holes. Fortunately, it went back down with very little encouragement and we blocked up the holes. No more worries!
- No separate shower stall so when you shower the floor near the toilet gets wet.
- Food service slow at times... often we'd receive one meal and then have to wait 10 minutes for the second!
- The resort is built on a hill, so unless you book one of the top-end rooms, be prepared to work on your calf muscles every time you walk up the stairs to your room!

Cons:
- Didn't really have any!

The beach is beautiful but the small rooms which lack basic storage were only OK and for the money were expensive. Food was good but also expensive, so if you stay here make sure you ave a breakfast package. Staff were not very friendly or helpful, though I suspect they were not Thai.

A few days here can be quite romantic, but for action, go to the eastern beaches.

The surrounding resorts ahve beautiful grouds and make the whole beach feel vbery upmarket. Unfortunately their food is even more expensive that the Lima Coco's.

We had the most loveliest time at Lima coco despite some of the reviews we read. This is a true little gem, on quite possibly the nicest part of the Island. It truly is a stunning beach, which is quite, well maintained and fully serviced in the fact that they bring out your beds and serve drinks/food on the beach. The beach is private so it's great as customers because you never have the hassle of trying to find a bed, there is always space!

The staff are truly wonderful, kind and very attentive, nothing is ever too much for them...however we were polite to them unlike some of the guests who were incredibly rude, the staff were still polite to these rude customers...I don't know how they managed to smile at these horrendous people who had no manners!!! So hats off to the staff for staying professional.

We did find most lunch time, a lot of people from the 3 neighboring hotels, came to our restaurant on the resort due to their hotels being massively over priced and the food served at Lima Coco was incredibly good!

I would also highly recommend the beach BBQ, it was a really lovely evening, with a great fire show to finish it off!

Yes the resort isn't as plush when compared to the 2 next to it, but it was much friendlier and reasonably priced. The decor is light and breezy, everything is super clean and it fits the bill perfectly!

I would definitely would go back, I feel the price is suitable for the location and place. It is a lovely little gem!!!

Thank you Lima Coco for a lovely stay.

Ohh one bit of advice, ask for the free ferry from Lima coco, however if you get sea sick I would recommend the speed boat as it only takes 15 minutes.

Our room was clean and well air conditioned, although the shower was cold. This was fixed for a day before running cold again. The food and drinks were good, although on the pricey side, with VAT and service being added on top. The service was mostly friendly. 10 years ago the resort would have been very nice, but now seems faded and basic. There is free wifi in the restaurant but not in the rooms. The beach was nice although there were lots of plastic bags in the sea (perhaps because of the strong waves). The main problem with this resort is its location. It's in a line of 4 resorts (the others being much more up-market) which share the beach. There is literally nothing else there, and you have to take a taxi truck to get anywhere, even to the closest shop. It's about 10-15 minutes to Koh Samet town and because there's no road, it's a very bumpy ride. Unless you want a very quiet spot, you should stay nearer the town.

This is only a review of the restuarant not the whole resort.

Me and two friends had the misfortune of frequenting this restuarant on the 03/01/2013... We originally placed an order for lunch with a waiter who could have been no older than about 8 years old (I kid you not)...after 25 minutes another waiter came back and read back the order to us, of which 3 of the 4 items were incorrect...we where then informed that they did not actually have the 1 item they had recorded down correctly. After 20 minutes we recieved the first of four dishes.... Then 1 HOUR later we finally recieved the remaining meals...

We did not appear to be the only customers suffering delays but recieved no apology from any of the waiters, and were actively ignored by most when enquiring as to the whereabouts of our food...

When the bill came we asked why we were being forced to pay a service charge, when the service had been so terrible...at which point the waiter who at least appeared to be in charge came over to us and shouted aggressively that if we did not pay the whole bill he would call the police...when we pointed out that at no point had we refused to pay the whole bill, but were simply questioning us paying a 'service charge', in light of so little 'service', he shouted loudly in front of many other customers 'what was wrong with us?'...

We ordered 2 pancakes with ice cream, a burger and a milkshake... Hardly the most technical dishes on the menu...

I've never been made to feel so humiliated...avoid!!!!
