First if all, The WiFi did not work after several tries from us ,we ended up using our mobile data which is just a disappointment. No proper signage going to the hotel as they altered the entrances and exits due to covid. But please a proper assistance to your guests will go along way in terms of customer service. We had to walk and keep on asking where the hotel is. Thirdly, poor housekeeping and restaurant service. Both departments are unorganized.whenever you order something,it takes a long time for the food or drinks to be served. Next, they always made up our room last and super late till 5.30pm. Even when we requested as early as 9.30 am to please clean the room, they just give us excuses. Yes,your hotel is very under staffed but please come up with a better strategy in cleaning rooms especially we are your first timers guests, and we ended to just tidying our room during or stay. Not recommended for foreigners, only 3 people can speak or greet you in English, the rest does not even smile to the guests. Won't be recommending this hotel even if the location is lovely.

After 16 days of touring arrived at Ko Samet. Nice hotel watch rooms right by the pool. There is some insight but you can also just leave your curtains closed. Air conditioning in the room and shower that occasionally has zen cures So not always hot water but I did not lose sleep over that. Lovely large bed in any case. Breakfast overlooking the sea was certainly more than sufficient and the view fantastic .

This hotel is right on beautiful Wongduean beach.....some of the staff are friendly and smiling.....but thats it. The rest is negative....firstly, dont expect hot water. We stayed 6 nights and only had cold water.......dont expect your room to be cleaned. The service staff just left 2 towels and toilet paper on air con unit outside the room. Some days they came in and just made the bed......was funny to watch them cleaning chairs on empty rooms balconies for over 30 minutes and hotel was far from full.....we complained to reception that the sink in the bathroom leaked water over the floor. They said they would fix it but they just mopped the floor.....gave up. Water leaked through the shower enclosure all over the floor. There was rust dripping down the wall from the not properly affixed shower . We paid for large bed but just got 2 very cheap uncomfortable mattresses pushed together.....if you wanted pillows, hangers, hair dryer etc all this was at extra cost.....i could go on but im bored writing about it now.......Koh Samet is a beautiful island but will definitely stay elsewhere next time.......not recomended

Unfortunately our booking on this hotel should turn out to be a nightmare! We have booked four nights on La Lune Beach Resort on Ko Samet to relax in a hotel with acces to a swimming pool and a beach. After our arrival our kids age 6, 8, 10 went into the pool. Staying in the water 2-3 minuts they began to scream and cry. Immediately we took them to our room and hosed them with water. All three kids swelled in their faces and got a lot of dark reed spots on their bodies. We were chocked and went to the reception to get help and tell them about the problem with the pool. No one in the helpfull staff had any authority to anything else than sending us to the doctor. The doctor came up with a diagnosis right away - the kids had chemical burn all over the body because of too much chlorine in the pool. He wanted the hotel to close down the pool right away (but this morning it was still open!!). The doctor gave our children lots of medical treatment and made a report - we went back to the hotel with 3 children in pain and a big bag of medicaments. When we came back we asked to talk to the boss again. It was too late to find another hotel and our children were in a lot of pain. We talked to the boss on the phone. He did not seem to care at all, he did not take responsibility, he did not apology and he did not want to pay for the night at the hotel even though we already spent more than 9000 baht going to the doctor and had nothing but problems all day with children in pain, no use of the pool and several hours by the doctor. We discussed for a long time but nothing helped. The next morning (today) we checked out, discussed again but nothing helped. At the bottom line we left with three children who were injured - a boss who would not even refund the one night and a boss who would not meet his responsibility for his damage to our children, to pay for medical care etc.. At the same time, the hotel had the nerve to report us to booking.com as not met so we can not make review of our experience at the resort. Our advice is to avoid this place! What a irresponsibility and greed! Poor friendly staff working under these conditions.

On arrival I was shown to my standard room which had a balcony (all rooms have a balcony or terrace). My view was the side wall of the building next to mine, and a mini rubbish dump. I promptly went to reception and told them I was not satisfied. After calling the manager, and him then calling head office, I was offered a deluxe room next door to the original room (despite the hotel being practically empty), but had to pay 200 Baht extra per night. The difference in the rooms is nothing but the view is mildly better. After this initial disappointment in the rooms I hoped my stay would get better but alas this was not to be. The breakfast is very poor. Yes, it is included in the room rate, but this does not excuse such a poor offering from a hotel that charges the prices it does for the rooms. Next, I thought I'd have a drink to take to my room, after my long walk along the coast, and massage at one of the neighbouring hotels. I asked the waiter to add it to my room bill and was told I had to pay for each drink as it was served! They only accept card for amounts over 1000 baht and there is a fee of 3%. I probably would have spent the 1000 baht on dinner and more drinks, but I am not willing to give any more money to this hotel. I am still here and wondering if tomorrow when I have to pay for the extra room charge they will make me walk to the nearest cash machine.....

As a local Thai who frequently visits samed island a few times per year, I finally get to try this newly opened hotel on Wongduen beach. Overall, I am highly impressed and would recommend this place to both locals and foreigners alike. First, the booking went very smooth despite some changes from my end. Second, once I arrived, the hotel is well located and beautifully decorated. Samed island has been such a popular destination for so many years so it is full of old hotels or bungalows. Lalune is different....it is a beachfront low rise hotel with a cute pool in the middle. The vibe is very young, contemporary and very clean. Room is equipped with good amenities and most importantly...the bed is so big and comfy.
Lastly, on e I checked out, I left a few items including CASH behind. I only remembered it the next day when I am back in Bangkok already. I phoned Khun Thip, the representative at Bangkok office. not only did she gladly coordinated the whole thing but I managed to get everything back in perfect conditions including all the money. I still couldn't believe my luck and can only thank them.
If you wish for a pleasant friendly cozy stay, Lalune is your place. It is not the cheapest place in Wongduen beach, but it surely worths the slight splurge for a nicer beach experience.

It's my 6th trip to Koh Samed. On Wongduan beach, Lalune It's still overall the nicest and newest, and most expensive hotel on this side of island. that's why this trip, I chose its here because of the big family Songkran get-together, We are a big family of 3 rooms, 6 adults and 2 children. Stayed 4 days, and 3 nights

The good things 1) some luxury amenities as nice room, a swimming pool 2) nice and new
place just opened 3) Miss. Kwang at the counter is smiley and friendly 4) Mr. Jay, a young man who works at egg station at breakfast, and help around in the morning, very customer service minded, smiley and helpful 5) Wongduan beach got a couple convenient stores, less than 5 minute walk from hotel.6) good location, about in the middle of the distance of the beach length.

Greater issues and needed development.

1) There is no management, the hotel reception who deals with check-in,check-out, food, room service and who knows what else...is a couple ladies at the counter...

2) The lady who is a little older, in her early 40s, at counter might try to help guests, but she never smiles. I smiled at her the first time, but she never smiled back to me or other guests, the two other ladies are helpful, but with very limited experience in hospitality.

3) so many flies at breakfast, every morning. and no staffs seem to care, tables with small children care more with flies, and they just left the food on table.

4) Very small and few breakfast, and bad quality, *compare to other 3 star-hotels on Koh Samed, and other islands I've been to in Thailand.(been to some 5-6 star too, but do not compare to those)

5). Restaurants close at 8 pm. other restaurants around open till at least 10 pm or later,

6) Most staffs are foreigners....(Cambodian.?), and can't understand much Thai or English when the food being ordered. (it's okay though about foreigner staffs, most B&B and hotels on Samed do hire foreigner staffs...)

7) At late night around almost 1 am. when all rooms lights off, a group of 7-8 guests still played cards at a restaurant, only one staff oversaw, they had their own radio on loud, poor Thai staff/waiter/guard had to wait on them, and couldn't tell the group to tune it down..few balcony lights started to light up, maybe a sign to tell the group...

8) Internet is very poor, and only in lobby. I read reviews and knew this before I decided to choose it here, but still chose Lalune for the sake of being a new hotel, and more comfort and convenience for family The bungalows and restaurants next door got much stronger connections, their internet is detected always from the room, pool...etc.

9) We tried dinner at hotel the first night, very slow and unprofessional, it's understandable and forgiven because they just seems very new and inexperienced.
(they actually made a mistake and forgot to bill the seafood of 1,200 Baht, and my sister reminded them so we would pay the right amount, we were billed only 1,700 Baht, and felt that it was wrong, it should have been more, so finally we paid 1,200 Baht more)

10) they have a sign on the main porch/entrance, ( for the guests or beach vendors...? ) Ii Thai, and English, ... not to take the food into hotel restaurant and area because the property is expensive, and they asked for understanding and sympathy, and let the hotel make money ..." ....well, it's very understandable, but the way it's said just very blunt and ignorant. some might see it a joke, but the sign itself doesn't feel like a joke, it's serious.

11) most restaurant staffs are helpful, but some look too obviously bored and irritated when being asked for help. or when guests come down for breakfast at close to 10 am (breakfast serves 7-10 am), staffs would seem very irritated. I came down early but some family members came at 9.30 am, most of the food was out. we noticed that the staffs pouted a lot to other guests too....so we try to behave! ha!

12) kids, guest peed in the pool! No staff around pool area. so we tried to avoid swimming pool.

13. very few English speaking channels. one movie channel, with Chinese subtitle, The only one news in English is through Russian Network.

14. big loud chairs at balcony, when anyone would move it sounds like a thunder, try it, and you'll know! :-)

15. Like some reviews I read about them on here a few weeks before....no prompt help to unload from speedboat, it was quite a struggle, so we and the boat guys unloaded some, the hotel staff came out to help after we got to ask at the counter...

Overall, I'm not sure if I would come back, if they fix all these things, I would, because it's just all about customer service and management, they still are the new and more convenient compare to other on Wongduan. Until then, Do not come! :
I just recommend that if you like a 3 or 3.5 star up, Go to other beaches, Ao Prao, Sai Kaew beach or other beaches. been there a few times, and will go back again.

I have much better experience at Koh Samed Try Ao Praw Resort, Pricey but good, great customer service, good breakfast, (Minus...the cove is far out, hard to come to town, no shop.)

Hotel couldn't be reached, even on website there's no phone number update on Koh Samed site, (up to April 16th) just the reservation number at Bangkok office. So the day before, and the day we traveled here, the phone couldn't be reached, because the public holiday already started, so there's no way we could contact the hotel in case of direction and questions.)

we paid 5,000 Baht per room a night, 3 rooms and 3 nights during public holidays through Agoda, found out that it already got down to be 4,000 Baht a few days before we got there, and on the first day when they offered to walk-in guests,(Just tested and search and found that in June.. it's about 3,200 Baht, still not cheap.) Overall, poor quality for the price we paid. Would be fine and acceptable if only customer service and to have a hotel manager.

Very nice resort, directly on the beach. Ideal to spend 2 or 3 days in total relax. Nice and clean sea. There are many reastaurants sorrounding the resort, all of them on the beach. There, you can eat fresh fish at low price. Approved!

Enjoyed a few nights here between xmas and new year. the whole of samet was booked out so we were lucky that we got somewhere to stay I guess and paid the weighty premium. The location is borderline perfection, a really nice beach to stroll along any time of the day, there are boatloads of daytrippers who are dropped off and picked up nearby so it's not a quiet oasis, but it's a nice relaxed vibe. The hotel is pretty striking, almost a modern prison of glass and concrete but you soon get used to it. Breakfast was better than the average for Thailand at this rate and the cocktails were pretty good. The pool was largely in the shade all day but we managed to get a lounger either out the front or at the reggae bar next door which they were cool with.

On a side note, I recommend the speed boat (which was quick/efficient) unless you are on a tight budget. LaLune is a bit further down the east of the island - we did venture up to the more raucous part of the island (towards the main port) and the roads are pretty non existent even in a 4x4. it would have been a pain to navigate via ferry etc. - just make sure you are wearing appropriate footwear when you jump off the speedboat!
