Stayed here at the recommendation of friends who had been here last year. Our room was very small, no place to put your clothing, bed took up the whole room. The friends later joined us for the weekend in an adjacent unit; said the room they had last year had been bigger. Good location in town, quiet, nice courtyard (where they dry their laundry). Our friend's adjacent room had a problem with ants. If you want to stay in town, this is not a bad option for the price. I'd rather pay 500 more baht to get one of the numerous larger bungalows available along the beach.

Nice place. Short walk to the shore (about 7mins).Rooms are clean. We took the one that accommodates 8 people. Bathroom needs upgrade. Decent breakfast. The receptionist 'Ang' is awesome. Very helpful. I would recommend this place to couples, family and group of friends as well.

Located on the main road, short walk from the pier and to the beach. Clean and well maintained bungalows. Our room was spacious, quiet, and cool. The bed was very good - not too hard, like many of the beds I have experienced in Thailand. The staff was very friendly and nice touches with new water bottles everyday, fresh towels, and mosquito coil outside your door.
Wonderful mid-range option (stayed in room T4 for 1000 baht). Would definitely stay there again!

We stayed here for 1 night with 4 people in one room. It was spacious and beautiful. The terrace was beautifully lit up at night and really calm. Breakfast was included with a mix of continental and Thai breakfast. Great location and a few unique bars really close. Great find!

The bungalows are lovely, clean, fresh, large comfy bed, lovely clean bathroom looks like they are fairly new. They are set round a small garden area. Although on the main road from pier it's very quiet, good breakfast too, cannot find any faults. Plenty of bars and restaurants on the door step and 5 minute walk to the lovely clean beach with bar/restaurants, sand white and like fine powder loved it. They are doing a clean up which is lovely to see but when we got back to the mainland the a.miunt of rubbish floating in the port was disgusting. Would go back here any day.

Stayed here twice now, so know the owners well.
Second stay was with My 70 year old mother.
Little chalet style bungalows round a little pond/water feature, very clean & comfortable rooms, air con etc.
OK no swimming pool, but your just minuets away from a very un crowded beach.
The hotel has a restaurant on the side, that does fantastic home style Thai food, My wife is Thai & really likes the food here.
The staff are very very friendly in both the hotel & restaurant & even cook us things that are not on the menu.
Can get your clothes washed for next to nothing & the girls do it in house !
Also they have clean water to shower in, a big problem on the island of samet.

Barbedos Terrace is a travel agency and they have rooms for rent. The travel agency offers Visa Runs to Cambodia. They don't accept credit cards, so I paid with cash.

DO NOT schedule from Koh Samet island because there are no boats running to the mainland early in the morning. They will swear to you that there will be a boat. However, I waited for an hour and NO BOAT. I found my own boat and arrived half an hour late. By then the minibus was gone and the person at Suria Tour had nothing to offer. He screamed at me and bragged about all the tours he booked and that everything was full. On his desk, there was a sign that said, "Visa tours to Cambodia, every day 9:30"

I asked about the sign and he acted like it was the first time in his life that he saw it. Heinsisted that everything was full.

They refused to give me a refund at Suria Tour and at Barbedos Terrace even though I didn't use any of their services and it cost them nothing. I wasn't mean to them, but I did tell them that I would write a bad review.

I walked across the street to Ban Phey Visa & Tour where they had no problem scheduling a minibus for that same day. Ban Phey phone number is 038-653-375 email: sirion_5@hotmail.com

Really nice, good location, near to the beach and restaurants. Wifi is for free but not working well in rooms. Near the reception is very good. You can borrow beach towels there. Clean. Calm and silent there. No tourist, just only thai people. No breakfast included. I like it very much for that price;)

When i ordered banana pancakes I was sure I'd get the frozen reheated ones I've been served in other places on the island. But no. The lady whipped up the dough added bananas and I had the best pancakes in a loong while. I didn't stay at the hotel but wish I had. It looks really cosy.
