Aqua Beads located in a quiet area of the island. The hotel is clean, the staff friendly and always smiling. The beach is small and almost private. We had room 102 right on the beach which has a great view. The breakfast was good, choice of eggs, toast and fruit. Rooms have tea and coffee and a fridge. The pool area is good if that’s your thing. The pool is about 12 metres long. If you like swimming in the sea be warned. There are sea urchins when the tide is out and as I found if you do long swims also sea lice. I noticed getting little stings as I swam but didn’t think anything of it. I then came out in little red lumps that we thought were mosquito bites and it wasn’t until after a fair few days that we worked out what it was. There are also mosquitoes around at night so you’ll need anti mosquito spray. A few restaurants around the hotel which are okay, a bar that does decent cocktails about a ten minute walk away and a slightly more up market restaurant at the Ban Ploy hotel. Very few guests at the hotel so we more or less had the place to ourselves. You can hire scooters very easily and they’re cheap if you want to explore the island.

I liked this place, sorta. I rented a deluxe room for two nights. There was a street light that glared through the window. In fact, my view was of the street light.
The room was nice, the staff was very nice. Breakfast had eggs made to order. The beach was nice, but I wasn't thrilled about the neighboring places, they aren't so nice.
All and all I wouldn't stay here again. Mostly because the location and the surroundings. If you took this place and put it somewhere else on the island it would be a nice place.

Location is too far away from Saikaew, the beach is bad, room build quality is awful (see the title), the pool is mediocre, the staff speak poor english but they try really hard and are friendly

It is a hotel next to the sea. Good service staff since check-in Luckily, we went when the oceanfront room was available. We didn't know that this room even existed. The staff recommended and took us to see the rooms.
We very happy to have great vacations.
the staff are all halp full. There's only one thing I'd like to recommend. Breakfast has too few options. only boiled rice and American breakfast. You can only choose one thing.
We stayed for 4 days so we got bored with these menus and still not full make we are still hungry. However, the rice porridge was delicious and we liked how quiet and beautiful this place.

Definitely not worth the price tag. Did not meet expectations. It's basically a cabin in the woods (deluxe bungalow) across the street from the water. I would not even say this is beach front, that is a stretch. The hotel restaurant sits on the water and the "beach" begins at the restaurant and ends 5 feet away at the water. The sea views are of the ferry boats travelling from Rayong to Koh Samet. The hotel next door is under construction so there is no relaxation poolside or near the water. The bungalows are basically shoddy cement huts with crappy carpentry, tiling, AC, linens etc. The bungalows are across the street from the hotel restaurant/waterfront. So you hear the motorcycles, pickup taxis, ATVs etc. throughout the day/night. The value of this room should be $50 USD nothing more. I would definitely not recommend staying on Ao Noi Na beach or even entertaining the idea of staying at Samed Club. Sorry. Here's my only +, the food at the restaurant was fantastic!

Totally overpriced. Yes it is nice and the staff for the most part are friendly but you are paying 5 star prices for a 3 or 4 star hotel. We were pushed intlo this resort when the one we wanted was full (Sai Kaew) so be carefull as the hotels are not the same within the same family of resorts! nor is location the same. big difference
While the dinner was okay there are better places to eat outside the hotel. The breakfast was okay but for the money i would say poor.

The pictures of this place on the website show an idyllic hotel - and I am sure when they were taken, that was true. Similarly the reports - most of which were written in 2009 provide a portrail of a wonderful place to stay which is why I booked my girlfriend and I in there for a week as a special treat during a four-week holiday. What a disappointment!
The good points:
The hotel processed the payment in full promptly and without error when I booked the room.
The bad points:
Our transfer from the ferry was in the back of a pick-up truck (seriously!). We were greeted by a dirty pool, filthy and worn out sun umbrellas, holes in the sheets of our bed, filthy tile grout in the shower, and cobwebs in the room. The water in the taps is sometimes dark-brown, although not always.
The limited menu is overpriced, there is no wine (12 euro corkage to BYO) and they are regularly out of stock of basic items. Breakfast was exceptionally poor - pancakes shop-bought and served cold, fruit juice UHT and from a carton, yoghurt served in plastic pots, tepid coffee. The crockery set is an eclectic mix of rather nice designer-ware pottery and cheap rubbish that is clearly being used to replace breakages. Basic things like lids on tea-pots are not always available.
The staff are willing but trained inadequately in English and customer service. They have poor personal standards - dirty shoes, trousers too short or the wrong colour, dirty t-shirts / polo shirts: this is apparently condoned by the local management.
The water-sports advertised on the website are charged as an extra (350 baht / hour) and are worn out to the point of being unusable and dangerous (e.g. no bung in the water-tight compartment in the canoe). The pool table has a four-inch rip in the cloth and only one of the cues has tips. The pool-side sun-bed cushions have holes in them and are generally worn, the beach-side sun-beds have no cushions. The room safe did not work. The windows and doors of the room have warped in the sun leaving big gaps around the frames which the local mosquito population exploit. At high-tide the beach disappears almost completely except for a small area which is shaded by large trees. The local night-club has a new sound system which starts at about 23.00.
We complained and asked to leave, but were told to contact our agents - easy we thought, since we booked with their head office. E-mails (several) not replied to, phone calls not returned, never the right person in the office to help, excuse after excuse. The receptionist at the hotel spent 20 minutes on the phone to head office when we said we wanted to leave before putting the phone down and telling us that head office was closed and there was no-one there to talk to. We were advised that they were unwilling to refund us and made no attempt to improve.
Summary:
Overall, a real disappointment - it seems that the owners are milking this place like a cash-cow and not investing in the necessary maintenance and training needed to keep up the high standards one expects when paying good money.

we stayed here for 3 nights and we often felt like we had stepped out of reality into a magazine photo shoot for a tropical island paradise! we were greeted on our arrival with a cool and refreshing fruit drink and within moments were in bungalow #201, very close to the beach. our teenage children were in a nearby bungalow, not next door as we requested, which we were initially were upset about, but as time wore on, we realized we were very safe there and there was nothing to worry about!
the bungalows were so lovely. we had a king bed and our children had two twin beds. very confortable, and a large separate changing area with closet, mini bar and safe in the room. the bathroom fittings were very new and modern and the air conditioning units all new LG slim units. patios had nice wooden chairs and tables and drying racks. You get two free bottles of water a day.
the beach was incredible, on the small side, but deserted! we were the ONLY people on it! the water was so warm, it was so clean and well maintained, sweep and raked very morning. the lady manager was always asking us how everything was. we went on a day time snorkeling trip and no sooner had we got off the boat was she there asking after us. we also arranged for bicycle rental from the front desk for 24 hours (500baht each) and cycled everywhere, it was fabulous! saw so much of the island. i recommend going to see the BIG white buddha and visiting the monk there. i recommend this option, much safer than renting motorbikes!
the breakfast was fabulous at Samed Club. you help yourself to crossiant, toast, jam, cereal etc and order a la carte off a menu, as much as you want. (i have taken a picture of the menu in my photos) and everything is delicious. there are sauteed potatoes too, that are not on the menu. you sit there, on the beach, you can't believe where you are! heavenly! pool is lovely, no chlorine, fresh water system.
we had one dinner there and it was fabulous. quite expensive. for our other dinners, we either walked into town or rode our bikes. if you want drinks and snacks, instead of using the mini bar, walk out of the resort, turn right and walk 90 seconds down the road and buy stuff at the mini mart there, it is WAAAY cheaper!
i would definitely recommend staying at Samed Club again!

we hired a private taxi from pattaya to the private pier of this resort. However the driver got lost when we were in neighborhood. So I called the hotel to wait for us for 5 more min before the boat leaving. She asked me to pass my phone to the driver. After that the driver drove even slower. So when we arrived the lady told us to pay 2000 baht for private ferry to get to samed. Then another family was late so we shared the fare. But then the lady told us the ferry can only stop at one resort( this hotel group has 6 resorts in Samed), so one family has to pay for ground transfer. So we made a deal to stop at our resort. When we arrived to the pier, one guy came to pick us up, drove us to our resort then asked us to pay 200 baht while the other family also paid for their ground transfer. I was already unhappy along this way so I just paid without saying anything.
The next day when we were having breakfast , which really disappointed me too , we chatted with our " neighbors" who have already stayed at Samed club for 3 days. He told us the breakfast Was changed just that morning , too simple and not good. We didn't even get a cup of coffee. And he told us that he also missed the boat from the pier but the hotel tried to help him get on a boat with other people for free and picked him up at the pier. ( he arrived even later than the day we arrived). Well next time no more Samed club. We paid for the ocean side cottage but the room wasn't worth the money.
Bad communication ( only one staff could speak English but you can't expect him to work 24 hours, so most of time it's quite difficult ) , room is old. Small.

We loved our stay at Ko Samed Club so much the first time, we came back there at the end of our holiday. The pool was great for our kids, the breakfast was very good, the beach is quiet. It's located a bit further from town, but if you rent a motorbike that's no problem. To us, it was a plus to go to the busy beaches when we felt like it, and to go 'home' when we wanted to. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
