We loved our room at this small posada not far from Potes in the Picos de Europa. It was clean, comfortable and traditionally furnished with modern amenities such as a flat screen tv and walk in shower. The proprietor's young son made us feel very welcome with his efforts to explain everything in English and offer us any further help we might need during our visit.
The posada is in a small hamlet only a few miles from the larger town of Potes with its many bars and restaurants but it was a haven of peace with our room's lovely terrace overlooking the wooded valley. Perfect to enjoy a glass of wine while watching the last of the sun's rays disappear behind the mountains.
The continental breakfast was enhanced by the freshly squeezed orange juice and good coffee and the evening meal though simple, rustic food was tasty and served with a willingness to please by the hosts.
We would highly recommend staying here on a visit to this stunning area.

We spent a week at El Azufral and it was a wonderful experience. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The ambience was welcoming, The owner Yolanda was unstinting with her attention, from giving us advice on walks in the area to preparing scrambled eggs for breakfast for my husband who had broken a tooth on the first day! The position of the posada was also perfect, being in the middle of wonderful countryside but not far from Potes. Would thoroughly recommend this estabalishment

The area is wonderful and the mountains spectacular. Potes is a lovely town nearby, and the walks are steep but rewarding. The room was very comfortable although I had booked a suite and didn't feel it was a suite just because it had two armchairs in it. The breakfasts were very, very good with cake and Yolandas special marbled eggs! However, the check in was quite difficult as we had missed the email asking us to do it online { we had left UK already and were driving down to N Spain}. This made for a surprisingly uncomfortable welcome. I had to ask for the password and got a frosty response as she said she had already given it to me. The password should be clearly found in the rooms as standard, its just easier.

A beautiful place very close to Potes and all the surroundings of Liebana. Our room was comfortable with a nice terrace. The omelette/eggs breakfast was a high point for us, so fresh! During our stay in peak days of August, the Posada was very busy and at times the staff seemed under stress, there some delays and confusion about check-in which took a long time to resolve, but no matter. We had fun and enjoyed our stay regardless of all Yolanda's the little jokes!

Clean and comfortable place to stay and beautiful surroundings. Very close to Potes. What surprised us was the rude “welcome” from the host and unhelpful attitude when we asked for recommendations. The next place we stayed was a complete contrast, which made us realize how important being treated well is when on holiday.

The accommodation is comfortable, very clean, well located, very quiet, breakfast and dinner are fine, has air conditioning, which does not happen in all accommodation in Cantabria.
