Detailed Reviews
We stayed here two years ago when we visited a relative and found it to be a ideal for our purpose. Set in a small village setting near to " The Devils Porridge" and "Gretna Green", you wake up to rabbits on the lawn and a lovely hearty breakfast. The owner could not be more welcoming, helpful and obliging. The room we stayed in accommodated myself, my sister and my mother. It was clean, en suite, television and tea making facilities. It is not a big hotel, but ideal for visiting, sightseeing, or a quiet break for any reason. We liked it so much we stayed there again in August this year and will do again. Thanks Mandy.

Called for Sunday lunch today, this is the first time that we've eaten at this establishment since it opened last year and we were blown away. We are kicking ourselves for not eating there before today especially when we live in the village. The food and the service was first class and to top it all it was reasonably priced. We will certainly look to eat there again in the near future.

We met up with colleagues retired and still working for a lovely meal in a friendly relaxing atmosphere. The meal was delicious I had the Parmesan coated Chicken Breast which was a really large portion followed by strawberry pavlova and the homemade meringue was absolutely amazing. We are all looking forward to catching up and a meal here again soon

We visited when passing through while staying in Carlisle. The staff were lovely, very friendly and the food home cooked and exactly what we wanted. We will be back when visiting that way again. Thank you!

An overnight stay to avoid being the designated driver after a friends birthday party. The guesthouse is very accessible being in Eastriggs, (exactly where we needed to be), within sight of the B721 (a decent road that leads from Gretna through to Annan and onwards), and also just a few seconds away from the main A75 leading from the M6/A74(M) through to Dumfries and ultimately to Stranraer. Despite the convenience of being close to these main roads, it has a quite situation adjacent to the Eastriggs and Dornock bowling green. Plenty of on site car parking is available. We were warmly greeted by our hostess, despite our later than advised arrival, and a fire was burning brightly in the hearth. Our en suite room was very clean and charmingly decorated. The bed was comfortable and the room warm but thankfully not overpowering. More than ample tea making facilities and toiletries were provided as was a shoe shining sponge and hairdryer. The full, cooked breakfast the next day was excellent, although one could be restrained and make do with cereals and scrambled eggs. We left well pleased with what felt like a too short stay.
The price is probably average rather than "cheap", but the standards are high and we thought it provided value and was well worth it.

A friendly welcome, excellent food, very comfortable accomodation.I have stayed here many times when en-route to North East Scotland, and get treated like a family member. This is a far cry from things like Travelodge- and you can get a REAL breakfast before you leave.I could not compare any B&B that I have stayed in to this one- it beats any other in the UK for me.
