My daughter's wedding reception was at Kinmount House earlier this month and the whole experience was absolutely top class. From the BBQ meal in the Croft the night before the big day, the accommodation utilised by the wedding party, the bridal prep room in Kinmount House itself, the champagne reception on arrival for guests on the terrace overlooking the ornate garden to the full blown reception in the newly built Pavilion, everything was faultless.
I know it is very much a team effort at Kinmount and there are many working hard behind the scenes including gardeners and chefs but I have to give a special mention to owners Fiona and George who were very much hands on to ensure we had a truly memorable experience, Victoria who co-ordinated everything and worked with us when Covid caused a late postponement and date change and Hardip whose well drilled team of servers were simply brilliant.
The setting is absolutely spectacular. The accommodation is luxurious. The food and beverages first rate and the whole team at Kinmount House are wonderful.
My daughter and her new husband had a perfect day and for that I would like to say thank you so much Kinmount House!!
If anybody reading this review is thinking of Kinmount House for a wedding or any other event for that matter, don't hesitate and get in quick because trust me, this place will be getting booked up super quick.
Oh and contrary to the previous ridiculous one star review mentioning Covid guidelines, I can state from personal experience that all appropriate Covid measures including full track and trace were followed strictly by all staff at the venue.

We were privileged to attend a spectacular wedding at Kinmount this weekend and were overwhelmed by how fabulous the venue is. The most important part of the whole weekend was the Kinmount Team. Every single one of them ensured all guests were looked after and made to feel special from the moment we arrived. Particular thanks to Wendy for her amazing service, especially the jam doughnut shots (if you go, you must try one!) The accommodation is spotless and very comfortable, and the catering was divine, the fish and chip and burger canapés being particularly scrumptious. The manager was attentive and always available to help, making sure the event ran smoothly and that the guests and, most importantly the Bride and Groom, had the best day ever. Thank you so much, Kinmount for a truly unforgettable experience.

Where to start…. From the moment you come up the drive to Kinmount your breath will be taken away, ours certainly was. We first visited Kinmount 2 years ago, from then we knew there would be nowhere else that could compare for our special day, to the wedding day itself I have no words to explain how amazing the whole experience has been. We need to give a special thank you to George and Fiona for opening your beautiful home to us and Victoria and Nadia our event coordinators for not only making our wedding day so amazing and run so perfectly but for the help, support and guidance you have given us over the last 2 years. As everyone will be able to see from any of the hundreds of incredible photos I don’t need to tell you what and unbelievable and breathtaking venue Kinmount is!! Truly the venue is one of the most incredible places we have had the pleasure of being to!! Perfectly presented immaculate in every way, the main house was incredible, couldn’t have gone smoother from the night before to first arrival, ceremony, reception drinks & canepe , wedding bfast, and evening party, which is mainly down to the whole team. The food was unbelievable, it was hot, delicious and every single person got exactly what they had ordered! Our family stayed in the cottages and every single person said how clean, homely and comfortable they were! I also need to give a huge thank you to all of the staff at Kinmount everyone single member of the team was attentive, helpful and always on hand for anything we or your guests needed. This includes a huge shout out to Cameron who drove me and my beautiful bride around all day, was always on hand from start to finish (driving the quite drunk 2 of us back to the main house after the night do) he was absolutely amazing!! The ULTIMATE in a peaceful, tranquil getaway. It's a Wedding Venue, yes, but they also have self-catering apartments/flats. They have ONE Pet-friendly accommodation that is booked solid for the next 7 months, (you have to get your name on the waiting list for it). I'm the creator/writer of The Thistle Legacy tv-series and we were there for filming on Sunday and it is beyond my wildest imagination. The House and grounds are AMAZING, you walk in, the high ceilings echo everything. The doors are covered in leather all on the first floor. The high dome ceiling in the center entryway is....words fail me...the pictures on the site don't do the place justice, nor can words properly convey the beauty and positive energy of the home and grounds. Yes, it needs some help, but it is definitely worth your while to go and visit. And a donation to their repair funds wouldn't go amiss, shows you respect and appreciate the hard work they're going through to fix the damage that constantly attacks stately manors like this.

Spectacular grounds and house for a wedding service. From then on we felt we were only allowed to stay to help pay the bills. Check in 4pm checkout 10am. Strip the beds, gather the towels, empty the bins. No iron available and the only one they could find was burnt to hell.
The food was superb throughout our stay. However, the bar left their red wine in an outside storage container, for a week, in Scotland in December!!! When I tried to buy a bottle it was close to frozen. When I asked if I could fetch a bottle from my room and pay corkage I was told no. Later someone informed me they had placed the wine on the radiator and it would be available later!!! Again beautiful location and superb food but ………

An absolutely stunning venue for a wedding along side beautifully refurbished accommodation. Despite this we left our viewing feeling rather underwhelmed. The house is a very small proportion of the actual wedding day. After your ceremony you are ushered to modern outer buildings. We travelled 250 miles to view this venue and it is more of a you fit around Kinmount vibe rather than Kinmount fit around you. To be told they are too busy to possibly do a menu tasting for quite possibly the most special meal of your lifetime was disheartening. On our tour of the grounds we were required to dodge dog faeces as the gardener was off. This did not exactly give us the magical excitement we were after.
None the less, we viewed THE venue the next day so was not a wasted trip.

From the moment I saw pictures of Kinmount House, I knew this was where I wanted to get married. We booked a viewing, and it did not disappoint! I felt emotional every time we drove up to it, it is was everything I dreamt of in a wedding venue.
Victoria was lovely from the moment we met her, and she made sure everything went smoothly on the day. Wendy was amazing the night before and on the day, making sure we were happy with everything and would make any cocktails any of our guests wanted. All of the staff were friendly and clearly work very hard as everything was perfect! Fiona was lovely, making sure we were okay the morning of and chatted to us at breakfast the next day. The aisle planner is great as any questions you haveleading up to the day, you can just pop it in there and someone would usually reply within the hour.
My family had hired the croft for us all the night before, and I would highly recommend doing this as it was so lovely for us all to be in one place, and it's so beautiful. The cottages were all booked out by our families, and they were perfect!
The venue itself is just stunning and has so many places to choose from to get married. We had 125 guests, so we got married in the canopy in the gardens, and it was so beautiful! We had our reception between the house and the Italian gardens and then moved to the pavilion for dinner and dancing. The food was lovely and everyone commented saying how nice it was. Everything was perfect and went so smoothly. A lot of our guests have said this is the best wedding they have ever been to, and this is definitely down to the venue and the staff!

Stunning wedding venue with the best staff 🤩 My son and daughter-in-law were married at the end of November 2022 and chose Kinmount as their venue. I was lucky to be with them on their very first visit to select a venue and from that visit it was amazing and no other venue would match up to it ❤️ Everything was perfect from the night before in The Croft, on the Wedding Day in The House and Pavilion and the accommodation that evening. The staff, well they worked so hard, were so friendly and helpful. Thank you for such a wonderful time 💯

Absolutely stunning place! That I hope to hold our wedding at in 2025. We had travelled from Manchester to view the venue, and Wendy was a fantastic host for our tour; she was very thorough with everything, and nothing was ever a problem! The different wedding venues were absolutely stunning; it was difficult to choose just one! Thank you Wendy and all the staff at Kinmount for your service.

We have just stayed at Kinmount House for my son's wedding. Everything about that place was superb. The wedding organisers were so efficient and so lovely, especially the wonderful Wendy who was ever present. It is a really beautiful place with amazing grounds including more than one lake. Making beautiful photographs! The facilities are superb and the accommodation for close family and friends on the premises are incredibly well equipped and so comfortable My son and his now wife had the best day.
