Detailed Reviews
Recently ate here on the spur of the moment. Was very quiet in the restaurant ...however...the quality of the food and value for money really was fantastic! What a find! Daily special offer of 2 courses with a tea or coffee was only £6.95!!! Food was lovely and fresh and nice and hot and the service was good and friendly. Will be back.

This hotel does need a tweak or Two, but please don't be put off with some of the previous reviews.
Was greeted with a warm smile.
Check in was quick and easy, and was given all the info on the Hotel.
Room was a good size, but with limited views outside.
Bed was large and comfortable with comfortable Pillows.
Gratis Tea, Coffee and Biscuits.
Bathroom was a little dated, however it was fully functioning, reasonably quality Towels and Gratis Toiletries.
Sleep quality throughout my Three Nights was very good, no noise to speak of.
Breakfast was Good, reasonable selection of Cereals and Orange Juice. Cooked Breakfast was tasty and plentiful.
Bar area is a little tired and could do with a make over. Reasonable selection of Draft Beer & Cider.
Restaurant was good with a reasonable menu choice, food quality was good and portions adequate.
Overall a very enjoyable stay.
This Hotel does have a way to go but the Owners seem to fully understand what needs to be done - But Rome wasn't built in a Day.
And I'm sure give time this Hotel will only improve.

This hotel is undergoing refurbishment nevertheless it did not spoil our 3 night stay. The bottom floor of the hotel has been almost totally refurbished. Service by staff was exceptional, very welcoming & friendly.
Room was fine, clean, comfortable and suited our purpose. It is not the Ritz but is definitely not the Pits . Having travelled worldwide over the years, the room is fine. It was regularly cleaned each day.
Breakfast and dinner meals are very good and well worth the money both in selection, quality and quantity.
Hotel is ideally situated in the centre of the town of Annan, which has an interesting history.
Car parking is fine (albeit not easily signposted) from the main street in Annan - had no problems with that.

My friend and I booked a meal and we were not disappointed
The food was delicious and the staff were lovely can highly recommended I had the white fish with shrimp butter and crushed potatoes. It was delicious. My friend had the chicken with Haggis and she said hers was delicious also. We were so full after we only had room for ice cream for dessert. We were here two weeks ago and had the Sunday roast beef it was also delicious. Can highly recommend eating here booking and track and trace are in place so we felt very safe

Great hotel for family events. Keeley, the manageress, made us all feel so welcome at my brother's 50th dinner in her restaurant. She coped with a coeliac, a wheelchair user, 2 down syndrome adults and me and my mother; nothing was a problem. I'd highly recommend the hotel.

Refurbishment has massively improved the interior. Booked table for 1pm and had three course meal for four people. Service was utterly shambolic, over 90 minutes before our mains arrived. Had a query about menu and server actually rude! Had to ask for dishes to be cleared both courses and twice three plates were removed and the fourth one left with nobody bothering to collect them. Had to ask for condiments and also for empty cans to be taken away. Other customers also venting their frustration. Food was reasonable however lentil soup was the highlight of the meal. One pudding had been zapped too long in microwave so was hard on the base. There is a clear lack of training evident and this needs to be addressed if owners want returning customers. Overall a very frustrating experience and would not rush to return.

We stayed one night during a tour of the area. The reception area was bright and cheerful and we had to wait a few minutes to check in as the only staff member present appeared to be doing everything- waiting table, serving food, running the bar and the reception. But she was very apologetic about the delay, friendly and helpful. She checked us in and warned us that parts of the hotel were being renovated. The room was basic but clean and I suspect was on the renovation list. We had a drink in the comfortable bar and ordered food which turned out to be some of the best fish and chips we have had anywhere. So the same lady that checked us in also served both the drinks and food and turned out to be a great source of local information,. Nothing was too much trouble- thank you Lydia! Breakfast was excellent and we met the owner who explained that she had bought the hotel shortly before the pandemic locked everything down and that she was hoping to renovate the entire hotel. So despite our room needing a little TLC, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there with excellent food and great service. Highly recommended.

I’ve never been treated how i was treated by anyone never mind an establishment. I came to Annan for my own reasons , me and my friend went in for a meal , we payed separately and ordered separately!!!!! My friend ordered a light bite I ordered a main ! £26 for absolutely nothing but Hostility and threatening behaviour ; I had to go and look for a member of staff 40 minutes later as my friend had her food served and had finished ! The barmaid who took our orders said your main comes out after your starter 🙈l explained I didn’t order a starter !!!!!! My friend and I payed separately and she ordered a lite bite not a starter! Off she went to ask for my food 🙈10 minutes later which was very poor as only 4 other sets of people were already eating ,she said your foods coming I explained I’m not happy and would like a refund please .Then the supposedly chef appeared with a very hostile attitude said she didn’t believe my food didn’t get to my table was off to check the cameras 10 minutes later she reappeared saying your food was cooked nothing wrong with it and I’d refused it 👀I was so hungry , I told her her attitude was terrible then her daughter started threatening me ! The girl who took the order blatantly lied in my face said she never said your main comes after your starter ? I asked for a refund again and was told I won’t be able to eat anywhere in Annan !!!!!! Her discussing attitude and bulling of the staff was a shame Annan deserves much better ! Essex is where she kept saying she’s from and was so foul mouthed . We ate in every restaurant during our stay and they were embarrassed said not the place of choice last resort .

Met up with friends we hadn't seen for years. Went to Queensbury for food and a drink. We waited around 15 minutes before staff asked if we were ready to order. We ordered drinks and food. 25 minutes passed when our food finally arrived but still no drinks. We asked for our drinks , they did apologise but we had nearly finished our food when the drinks arrived. We complained but realised that there was only one person taking orders , serving drinks and serving food. Felt bad for waitress but will not be going back.

We have been visiting the Queensbury Arms Hotel for a number of years, the year before the current family took over, and at least yearly ever since. They spent a lot of money on the refurbishment of this enormous property and their hospitality was second to none. We really enjoyed staying over the years and have been welcomed with our very large dog Chops. We really enjoyed our last Sunday lunch there today, the food was outstanding, especially the breakfasts, and are gutted the family are leaving, it's a very sad time for Annan. Wishing you all the very best for the future 💜.
