Servatur Puerto Azul garners praise for its friendly staff and clean, modern rooms boasting stunning views, though some guests suggest the service could be more consistent. The hotel's multiple pool options, including adult-only and heated varieties, delight guests, as does the overall cleanliness. However, the hotel's atmosphere receives mixed reviews, with the entertainment aspect falling short for some.
While the scenic location is appreciated, the steep hill may pose a challenge. Guests also feel that the all-inclusive value could be improved, particularly regarding drink quality and additional charges.

Detailed Reviews
We travelled with Jet 2, aware of the ongoing refurbishment works within the complex. Delighted with the whole experience, and the ongoing building work had no effect on us or our enjoyment at all.
The pools and outdoor areas were well laid out with shaded terraces as well as loungers in the sun. The loungers could be all used by late morning, but when this happened, more were brought out. My 11 yo loved the pool, the slides and the Kids' Club activities. Life guards on duty at the main pool and slides. The gym was brand new and extremely well equipped
Food was varied - always plenty of fresh fruit and salads, as well as a massive variety of hot food choices. I loved the handmade pizzas, straight from the pizza oven. We stayed 'all inclusive' and food available pretty much all the time, as were soft drinks as well as alcohol.
Room was very comfy and spacious with a balcony with two loungers and a table and chairs. (Junior Suite). A parasol would have been welcome as the sun was intense from dawn til mid afternoon. All rooms had a sea view, I think. The room itself had excellent AC, a fridge with freezer, a safe, plenty of electricity sockets as well as USB and USBC sockets. (We didn't use our plug adaptors at all). WiFi worked well in the room and most areas of the hotel. Bed v comfy, powerful and spacious shower. Excellent blackout curtains. Plenty of shelf space in the bathroom. Sheets and towels changed once weekly but you can ask for a new set whenever you want.
The complex is built on a steep slope and it's 700 steps down to the beach. We walked down and taxi'd back. Taxis are plentiful and metered, the trip back was about 5 Euros.
All the staff we helpful and kind, and spoke excellent English back to my very poor Spanish. Would very definitely love to return again.

My personal review whilst still at the hotel
All in all the hotel is wonderful highly recommend for both adults and families
First let's start with the food, food is excellent great choice available whether at breakfast you want a full English or pancakes, cereal fruit yogurt to lunch you want the snack bar which has great burgers and made as you watch pizzas or go into the restaurant for a more dinner like vibe with great salad meat and fish. The evening meal again lots of choice, tex mex Italian, fish a carvery meats change each day. Dessert selection, as stated in lots of other posts children like bees round a honey pot, this is because they have a chocolate fountain with lots of choice of fruit and other sweets to dip.
Our room has only been available for guest for a couple of weeks as it has been refurbished, done to a good standard, apart from we had no phone, the sink is plumbed wrong hot is cold and cold is hot, if it rains heavy then everything on the balcony gets a good socking from the over flow pipe from the balconies above. One small point, the windows open on a tilt in the bathroom with the mirror positioned where it is, we had the unfortunate view of a man showering whilst walking past, so they may not all be discreet.
Pools, as a couple we spent most of our time by the adults only jacuzzi and solarium area. Nice and child free apart from a few times when the adults brought their older children to join them, not an issue really but parents themselves shouldn't allow them. The drinks machine by this section isn't always functional, which is a huge pain as it is a very long walk to the next drinks station. It's a shame they don't have a morning walk about check, one thing that did also annoy me was no toilet paper in the ladies again in the adult only area, this could again be prevented by a morning check.
The main pools are very busy and well suited for families.
The hotel has lots of levels, lots of stairs and lifts can get you top to bottom but you will have to work out your routes.
All in all it is a very lovely hotel staff nice rooms cleaned and good food what more do you want.
Just to add, it would be a really nice touch to have waiter service around pools and evening by the entertainment area.

We would definitely recommend this hotel. The location, hotel, food, staff and facilities are brilliant. It’s a huge hotel and when you first arrive expect to be a little confused with the layout although you do receive a map of the grounds with some directions to your room. Even so you could still get a little disorientated at first! Our room was lovely with magnificent views of the bay - we had a classic junior suite with sea view on an all inclusive basis. We really enjoyed the variety of food. The alcohol selection we can only really comment on the beer, wine and cava. The beer on draft is Tropical and to be honest it wasn't the best - went flat within a minute even in a glass (as opposed to plastic tumbler). The cava and red, white and rose wine was actually really nice. There is just one bar during the day by the pool serving alcoholic drinks up until 7pm (that’s when the lobby bar opens) and whilst it wasn’t a problem in January we think it could be a frustrating queuing game for guests in the height of the season. We think given the size of the hotel, pool and outdoor area the hotel should consider opening at least one more bar serving alcohol during the day for all inclusive guests. We couldn’t understand either why drinks served in the outdoor seating area were served in small (probs half a pint size) plastic tumblers when they served outdoor buffet lunch and snacks on ceramic plates and bowls? People have commented before in reviews about the location of the hotel and whilst we loved the long walks down to the beach etc or up to the Europa Centre we can see why this might be a problem for some. There is a taxi rank right outside to get you from a to b. There is a well stocked Spar supermarket right outside the main entrance which makes life a bit easier! We had just one recurring problem and that was our room door lock. We stayed just 7 days and on 3 of those days when we returned to our room our key card didn’t work and we couldn’t access our room which was very frustrating given our room was c. 0.5 km up steps to reception! That said as soon as we reported the problem each time the staff were on it! If you’re looking for a modern clean and on trend hotel providing a first class service give this place a go. You won’t be disappointed.

We arrived on the 16/12/23 first impression was really good check in was a little slow and forgot to give wristbands till we reminded the lady we are inclusive it took 3 lifts to the room which dropped and jerked in the shaft the map was very poor the room was amazing and definitely the most comfortable bed I have slept on in any hotel the view was good I was a little worried that some of the rooms next to us did not belong to hotel but we're privately owned the location of the hotel is on a steep mountainside and I would say unsuitable for disabled people we went for dinner a good ten minutes walk to the restaurant and it was like a bun fight to get food it was disgusting cold and the drinks undrinkable I know customers will disagree with this but that's how we found it the AI was not worth the money at all one poor woman who didn't drink alcohol had a hot chocolate asked for some squirty cream only for them to try to charge her for it !! Only one bottle of water in the room I thought it was very mean considering what we had paid 😞 I did ask to change the room to somewhere closer to be told I was fat all inclusive and needed to walk it off I found them comments very offensive we did try the restaurant on a few occasions but it was so cold and unpalatable every time the gala dinner was such a shame they put out really good food but again it was inedible and again the drinks undrinkable but the cleaner in our room was absolutely amazing and so kind nothing was too much trouble all in all do not go all inclusive because they still want to charge you for some drinks and the glasses are too small and it's just not enjoyable to eat there but rooms are spotless !!!

Where do I start with this hotel.
Let's go with the positives.
- Hotel is newly refurbished and throughout the hotel it's new and well equipped.
- Staff very pleasant in restaurants, bar areas and a hard working bunch in entertainment team.
Now onto the negatives sadly. We spent nearly £5,000 for my wife, 2 girls and I for all inclusive for 11 nights.
- Sunbed situation and absolute joke. No control by hotel on situation and folk up at 6am reserving beds. I even seen a woman who had booked two sets of beds so she could move to a better location later in the day.
- Food the same EVERY single day.
- Steaks and fish items regularly raw.
- Restaurant area is mental. Kids running about dropping food, picking up with hands, putting back in serving dishes. Kids dancing on chairs, spilling food and drink and walking off. I even seen one lad walking through the busy serving area doing keepy uppies with a football.
- We were put in Block 7 which had a balcony with about a 1 metre strip of sunlight at 6:30pm. They even randomly came and added a sunbed to our balcony mid way through the holiday. Prior to that random arrival it was only equipped with a table and two chairs which was odd as it was a family room for 4.
- Room cleaning not brilliant. Arrived and floors were dirty, sandy and gritty inside and on balcony and same dirt was there at end. Maybe invest in a tool called a brush.
- Pool area is so busy and once in the pool you have a 1m square area you can use as it so busy. Again hotel do nothing to enforce rules in this area of the hotel either. "No Diving" signs all around pool and every minute people diving over your shoulders. Not once did I see one of the lifeguards do any rule enforcement whatsoever. No whistles blown or telling folks not to do that.
On the sunbed situation which was a joke we raised the issue about sunbeds on day 2. Grumpy receptionist man told us there are 900 beds for 1,300 people. What do we want them to do about it? Jet2 rep was useless too.
Hotel has all the potential to be excellent but lack of following it's own rules it's set are destroying it. Needs more variation in things like food too. We ended up eating out at night towards the end and like other reviews spent way more money than intended given it's all inclusive.
In the negatives I mention some of the behaviours of the kids. That's not the hotels fault that people won't control their kids but they do need to step in and sort out from time to time. Restaurant areas in particular are like a playground.
People go on holiday to relax. So if you want a nice hotel to do that in don't book here. Waste of money.

The hotel is beautiful and very clean and tidy. The room was very well set out with a room within a room so my husband and I were not sharing a room with our child
they had a lovely double bed of their own which was so much better than a messy sofa bed. Couldnt really hear anything when the patio doors were shut. Our room was located on the top floor so walked out straight into the pool area. The bedroom wall could do with a wipe over as lots of scuffs and evena footprint on the wall!!
The pool water was warm and plenty of beds on day 1 but then all hell broke loose. Hundreds of children descended and the pool was full of inflatables (even though it says no inflateables in the pool)and you could hardly turn around for them a d forget actually swimming. Sunbeds, forget the idea of having one after 8.15 as there was towels spread across 4 at a time. We're they used? Not until after lunch, spoke to the staff who said it was wrong and if it's empty for more than 30mins the lifeguard should remove everything on it they didn't and yes it's wrong but how does it help us ? Just a shrug of the shoulders and next please!!!
Food was fantastic the first few days but it didn't change much, so became the same each day with a slight twist pork instead of steak. What let it down was the signage you had to guess the meat or fish. Some of the waiting staff were wonderful others, especially with the trolleys just barged through door ways and no thank yous. Ability to help yourself to wine beer or soft drinks was great.
The hotel is on top of a hill but a few steps away is the taxi rank and about 6 euros to the town or the beaches.
What let this hotel down for us was it was over crowded. Far too many people and children for the facilities queues for everything and we started eating at 8.30 to avoid the queues never saw the entertainment as there was no seating available as too full.
This is not the hotels fault but some parents just forgot their children and let them run riot. Maybe the cheap pricing needs to be reviewed quality over quantity.
Geogous hotel if less people would have returned!

Had such a lovely stay, beautiful views from our family suite with sea view & just up some steps to main pool area. We travelled as a family of 4 with a 9 year old & 12 year old and the hotel met our needs very well.
Any issues I had seen people mention on here seemed to be being addressed, signs for finding your room, maps on arrival etc etc. We did return to our room one evening to find a fair few ants had appeared but I must say, within 1 hour at most, this had all been sorted and we didn't have another ant for the remainder of our stay so really not a problem at all!
Luis who keeps the pool areas clean and tidy does an exceptional job and is always smiling and friendly, he works very hard! The maintenance guy was also lovely and happy to help (sorry I didn't get his name).
All teams were in different and clear uniforms so you knew each person's role which was great. I must say, as such a big hotel with so many staff it was impressive to see everybody work so well and to know their roles!
For staff, the only let down was 1 particular receptionist who was rude and abrupt when we let her know our air con control wasn't working - told us it didn't matter as it wasn't necessary to have air con in December.... Regardless of the fact we had paid for a holiday and room which had air con for a reason. She was 1 in a much larger pool of friendly, helpful and happy staff so again, it was easy to just ignore this and focus on all the positives! Another receptionist and the maintenance team sorted the control quickly the next day so that wasn't a problem!
Food was plentiful and there was plenty of choice even with a fussy eater in our party. Eating areas were clean and tidy and the chefs worked hard keeping everything topped up and fresh. Pancakes and the chocolate fountain were our children's favourite!! I am vegetarian and found there to be lots of choice and everything was clearly labelled, on the odd occasion I wasn't sure, the chef's were always happy to tell me what did or didn't have meat in.
The range of pool areas offers something for most people, music, quiet, adults only, splash park and plenty of sun beds every day!
The Spa shop at the hotel opened towards the end of our stay, it offers lots of choice and has good opening hours too! Taxi rank is right outside the hotel so if you do want to venture out you aren't forced to tackle the hills...although the kids had good fun seeing who could run up them fastest!
Building works - barely saw any and any we did see were discrete or done at night time and without any noise, really no drama at all!
So, all in all, a really lovely stay and very happy we chose this hotel, thank you!
Rooms:
We had a big balcony with beautiful view to the beach and the ocean. Rooms was very nice, modern and spacious. Comfortable beds. Cleaning was good, except it felt like the floors was not swept. Good wifi connection.
Food:
I can only say the food here is amazing. So much variation, fresh made dishes, all very delicately presented. Staff in restaurant was hardworking and made sure used plates etc was cleaned away quickly. Didnt see a lot of mess in the restaurant.
But - the restaurant area is extremely busy, and very noisy. It is not a place to enjoy a meal in peace. If you can not stand eating in a loud and somewhat caotic environment, this is not the place for you.
Poolarea/sunbeds:
This is the biggest drawback for this hotell. The pools are simply not big enough for the amount of guests. Crowded pools all day long. If you go after 18.00 it is a bit more space in the pool. The water in the pools is also quite "cloudy", not clear water. I dont know why it is like that, but it is a little off-putting.
The sunbed situation is not the hotels fault. It is not enough, but if people didnt reserve beds all day and not use them, it would be. If you are a family with kids, you probably dont need to reserve sunbeds all day for all the kids who use them like 2% of the time.
The water slides was really fun, and the lifeguards on top of the slide was very good at keeping it safe and orderly.
The hotel is situated quite high up in the mountain, this makes the views amazing but then you have a long way down to the beach. We walked the 709 steps to the beach, and for us it was not a big deal as we are used to being active. But there are taxies available for those who understandably is not up for the walk.
The staff at the hotel is all very nice, and hard working. You can tell they want to take good care of their guests.

+1
Very large hotel over many levels & lifts, but gives you wonderful view.. Good pool areas, plenty of sunbeds, clean. Can be a bit slippy round the actual pools!
Has plenty drinks outlets for you to use throughout. Food is good, not much variety over a week, breakfast really good though & has more choice, not a lot of choice at lunch time, dinner time tends to be repeated, but there is a snack bar starting from 12.00 noon with plenty of freshly cooked food to try. Had a junior suite, plenty of room, loads of storage, large bathroom with walk in shower, nice balcony area with sun lounges and table & chairs, pull out airer to dry your swimwear on. Pool towels can be changed daily depsit of 10 euros each at reception returned at end of your holiday.
Had a late arrival due to flight being delayed so arrived after restaurant had closed, boxed left for us with a couple of sandwiches, cake and apples, no water in the room and bar had already closed at 11.00pm. Luckly had a water bottle in my bag to fill up.
Check out at 12.00 noon and unable to extend but you can book the shower/changing room which was handy, luggage can be stored away, but the room is not locked.
Recommend getting the ferry to Morgan 13 euros return (friday is market day) beatiful clean place to visit. and plenty of bars, restauants around the harbour.
Also try at the top of the hill El Tore Negro restaurant, great food and staff are amazing, large portions great value.

Fantastic hotel, pools great, food great, drinks ok. There was a limited selection on All Inclusive, but enough to keep me happy. There are soft drink dispensers, water and beer self pour located around the pools during the day, they close at night. There was a small queue for drinks, nothing crazy though it moved quickly.
Kids club was for ages 4-8 only. They seemed to open at 11.15 daily and close around 12.30/12.45. There were some activities on some days around the pool for older kids, but most of the activities were adult only, so older kids can be a little unentertained until they make friends with kids of similar ages. The kids club was excellent and the kids loved it - I would have liked longer hours - but the kids loved it. Some days they finished early and did pool activities, which meant the afternoon session was only 45 mins.
The entertainment team are excellent, and do a great job, pool entertainment is as good as I've seen.
Beds were 2 singles pushed together, but they were actually really comfortable 10/10 for them.
Sunbeds and pool area very good, but very easy to slip when wet.
There is a suitcase weighing machine for €1 a bag at the hotel, it is not calibrated the same as the airport. 25kg at the hotel was 21kg at the airport.
Hotel can take a day or 2 to get your bearings, but reception do not guide you incorrectly. The Europa centre is up a hill about 5 mins walk to bars to watch any sport you want.
I would definitely return to this hotel.
