Just spent a week at this hotel and have some good things to say but not all areas came up to expectations. When we arrived we noticed that there is a lot of building work going on next door which we were not informed about.. To be fair the holiday company should have let us know this. We were originally in a room next to it but had a word with the reception and they moved us to a different area they were very good about this and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable we had a mini fridge and safe to use. Unfortunately no balcony or outside space but none in this hotel. The bathroom was small and had a door which served no purpose as the toilet was right next to it as was a very busy main road so no view. The shower was very small and no shower mat so very slippery getting in and out. It was fairly sound proof slight traffic noise and air con worked but couldn’t set lower than 22 decrease so slightly warm at times. A nice reception area a restaurant area shame the food didn’t live up to much. We ate our first evening meal there on arrival day and that was enough. A very basic menu ordered our starter which came out burnt to a crisp on top which tasted awful they took this off the bill, main course was mediocre a pork dish which we were informed was boiled for 4 hours then roasted served with a sauce it was chewy and not much taste. Bread was like a bath sponge and very dry..Breakfast was basic continental and a few hot choices with mainly eggs not much to write home about. Same Menu everyday so didn’t bother again. The pool area is very tired need lots of improvements lots of green slim around the pool walls and broken slats when you walk around it. The sun beds are all sagging and very uncomfortable with a couple off double wicker beds with damaged cushions that need replacing. Not a 4* experience didn’t use after first time. We found transport the worst thing about staying here buses only come once an hour and need an App on your phone to pay which was complicated. No Taxis available we were told they only take long distance fairs. There are very limited Taxis available in this area.Walking to town was a fair way especially when your slightly older so a car or bike hire is essential to get about.Ferry’s go from the main harbour but get full quickly and aren’t frequent so all in all we found this hotel just to far from anywhere. Staff were great but unfortunately wouldn’t recommend this Hotel

All of the staff were SO friendly! Especially the waitress’ and chef. The room was clean, spacious and cool A/C. The swimming pool was a perfect size with pool bar, that we didn’t use but had lunch snacks and drinks. The breakfast was self service as well as hot food which could be ordered, it was fresh and constantly topped up so if you were late to breakfast there was still lots. Restaurant/bistro was lovely, they explained all the meals if you were unsure. It was only a short walk to Lake Garda, there was a shortcut path way opposite the hotel which took you straight down to the lake. We didn’t have any spa treatments, however everyone we told where we were they complimented the spa. All in all a faultless stay at Ziba!

This is a wonderful friendly hotel that offers everything you require for a great holiday in Lake Garda. The swimming pool area is fabulous with great food served from the pool bar to a very high standard. It’s the people that make this hotel and they went out of their way to help us on several occasions . The hotel is situated on a busy road and is a 15 minute walk from Pischiera port but don’t let this out you off staying here the hotel is worth it. Wonderful hotel and great memories..5/5

I stayed at Ziba with my partner for a long weekend break from work. Why here? location - we wanted to bike around lake Garda and wanted a spa hotel. The hotel is a good starting point for riders but beware that in general traffic can be intimidating for those not used to road biking but a cycle/pedestrian path is there for novice bikers. The location is outside of Peschiera del Garda so walking into the town is not possible but for food in the evening don’t worry as the restaurant is excellent with a good Osteria over the road. Staff were excellent throughout the hotel, very helpful, accommodating and really made me feel like I wanted to go back. There’s a bike room downstairs. Car park outside of choose underground secure for only €3 per night. Due to COVID spa times were limited but available. Re Covid, I thought this hotel managed my safety very well. Be patient at breakfast, your health and that of others is the primary importance. The same was true throughout. I will go back and recommend this to others.

This is my second time staying at the Ziba. The hotel is located on the outskirts of Peschiera but both the lake and town are walkable. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Our room on the 1st floor was comfortable and stylish. The bed was especially comfortable. Everything was very clean and COVID precautions were in place. Breakfast was served from a buffet served by the staff. A lovely selection of fruits, eggs, meats and pastries/breads. There is a pool side bar and on site restaurant for dinner if you don’t fancy the walk into town. The pool is a reasonable side and is set in nice gardens. I loved staying here. It is quiet, understated and restful. Really wonderful holiday.

During a stay at the hotel a metal screw was found in one of the restaurant dishes. Despite several complaints and emails to the hotel they refused to compensate guests in any way. I have emails confirming and accepting what happened but they still refused any refund. Not good enough. Restaurant reported to local authorities

I booked a double room for 2 nights for 325€, upon arrival, the receptionist changed the price to 440€ as we are 2 persons instead of 1!! had no choice else then taking the room since we had a wedding close to the hotel.... on the other hand, a four stars hotel without : - they don't have iron and iron board (in the hotel) , they can iron it for you for additional charge. - no place to hang your towels and bath robe after shower, either you put it on the floor or in the closet - spider inside the room see photo - safety box not working with empty battery!! - noisy air condition and not cooling at all !! - clean bathroom Avoid this hotel, they are able to rip you while smiling !!!

Response from theziba, Direttore at The Ziba Hotel & Spa
Responded 13 Aug 2019
_____________________ Dear and very elegant Guest, I reply, after have spoken with Laura, the person to whom you have elegantly called with the epithet of "sharmuta" on your arrival. What you booked was actually a Deluxe room for single use, which is for one person only, asking to keep the same price despite being two guests instead of one. Ms. Laura simply kept the same offer as per your booking, only considering that the Deluxe room was for two people (2 breakfasts, 2 bath sets, 2 bathrobes, etc.). Obviously from the check-in time, you and your Staff have threatened the negative review, typical of some cultures, but the threats here at The ZIba do not work, neither do the elegant insults. I will also just inform you that in Italy it is not possible for security reasons to keep the iron in the room turned on, where, however, there is a hanger for bathrobes, just looking at the wall. Congratulations for your athletic training in having chased a sparse and certainly scared little spider, and congratulations also for his hairy legs that we can see in the picture. I limit myself to this, because the previous reviews deny it, suggesting you to read a story of a book that you will well know: The Thousand and One Nights, in particular the novel "Ali Babà and the 40 thieves", I am sure you will find interesting ideas to think about. Have a good life! The director.

We’ve stood in Ziba hotel with a 8 months baby for my husbands birthday weekend break and I can absolutely recommend it. Clean and well maintained room with the air conditioner, though not sure why the showers faucet is not fixed up to the wall. We founded it funny but nothing to complain about. Clean and well sized pool outside with the sun beds and a bar. A 5 min. walk to the lake, 15 min. to the Peschiera. There is Lidl and the local supper market close enough. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful. Very nice girl working at the morning breakfast cantina. There is a room for Improvement in Ziba Restaurant, but overall we are satisfied and would recommend the hotel to those who value the quietness and rush free place to relax. Thank you for a satisfying stay.

We stayed for 5 nights and were very happy with our stay. Bedrooms very modern, high tech shower, fridge facility, lovely large bed. Dressing gowns and slippers provided for spa. We had no issues with the air conditioning. House keeping are very on the ball. All staff at the hotel courteous and friendly. The lady at the pool is especially nice. Can’t do enough for you. The outdoor pool area is a very welcome feature to this hotel especially height of season in very well kept gardens. Pool towels are provided and are changed whenever you require. The bistro at the hotel is very nice and definitely worth a visit if you’re a resident. The only thing that stops me from giving this hotel 5 stars is its location. Located on a very busy road, many vehicles don’t like stopping to let you cross the road and considering the speed they drive at, I was often a bit nervous! In cooler climates, walking into Peschiera itself would not be an issue but in the hottest months be prepared for constant wet clothes! The walk is about 15 minutes in mainly down hill which then means an up hill walk back.. having said this though, you can always catch a bus, hire a bike or get a taxi. Being fit didn’t bother us but for those that have issues walking - it could be an issue. All in all we had a wonderful stay and used the hotel as a good base to explore Lake Garda.

We stayed one night at Ziba, while the spa facilities are lovely & well maintained unfortunately the same cannot be said for the rooms. After reading a previous review from June 2019 (after we had left!) it was obvious that the air con was not working. I understand maintenance issues happen however at no point did the staff inform us that the air con was broken. Not even when my husband went down at 2am after we woke up sweating, did the Night Manager admit that the air con was broken. He came to the room & simply turned the fan up which simply circulated more hot air. If the hotel wasn’t between a main road & the train tracks sleeping with the door open wouldn’t have been a problem but the noise from the street & the train made it impossible to sleep. This was the worst night sleep we had on our whole Italian trip. When we checked out the staff did not ask how our stay was & to be honest we did not say anything either. For the price, we paid €150/night I would definitely not recommend staying here until the air con is fixed. Once the air con is fixed this hotel would be fine, until then though I would definitely avoid it.
