Location, nature, near the lake. Birdsong in the morning. 😊 It was clean and tidy. Staff was very friendly and polite. It was our first time in mobile house so we were a little bit confused. A little outdated house. We booked at the last minute, so we couldn't choose another.

We spent two glorious weeks at this campsite. we had originally booked a Miami mobile but i changed to a Perla in the Top Village. These mobiles were new and clean and only metres from the lake. It consisted of a double bed, small bathrroom and samll living area of tv and ac. the kichen was adequate with 4 gas rings and small fridge freezer.
The campsite itself is small in comparison to Bella Italia, its much larger (and less apppealing) neighbour.
The swimming area has two pools, one for toddlers and small children as well as one for adults and larger children. Both are great and very popular with everyone. It is compulsory to wear swimhats which are available at the pool bar for 2 euros. Sunbeds are also for hire for one euro per day. i didn't mind this as it prevented getting up at the crack of dawn to reserve one!! The pool bar consists of snacks ranging from paninis and pizzas to soft and alcoholic drinks as well as flots, rubber rings etc.
There are two restaurants on site. The Pizzeria is excellent and the staff are lovely. It is well priced and you also have the take away option as well. there is also a 'mini' market but it's not mini it's miniscule, you can't depend on it for your food during the holiday plus the prices are disgraceful. There is a small family supermarket 10mins walk from the campsite which is a lot better.
The second restraunt 'il vecchio mulino'we will never go back. The first time we were short changed and the 2nd we left after waiting more than an hour for our meal! The staff are young, unfriendly abd don't seem to care. We had just came from a long day in Venice and were tired and hungry and wished we had have went to the pizzeria who are much nicer and Alberto keeps everthing ship shape :)
The entertainment during the day occurs mostly at the poolside which comprises of games, pool games and the splash disco which the children love.At night you have the Happy Disco followed by shows such as Mamma Mia, karoke and cabaret shows. The team are excellent, enthusiastic and get to know everyone.
It take sabout 25minutes to walk to Peschiera which is quite pictoresque and has plenty of small cafes and boutiques. The market is on Monday which is extremely busy.
Shuttle buses run to Gardaland and Movieland and you can also book day trips to Venice or tours of the lake. You can also catch the boat at the port in Peschiera to most of the towns at the lake. You don't necessarily need a car.
Overall, i was very pleased in choosing this campsite. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and I would seriously consider returning next year.

Well, we arrived on Monday 21st July 14 and stayed to the Friday. On arriving we were told we had to pay €50 city tax which we later discovered at the end of our stay was in fact only €5 city tax and €45 for cleaning!! Our unit was small but sufficient although there was no cutlery, cups, plates, glasses, kettle, nothing. The room was not cleaned in the 4 days we stayed, no toilet roll replaced, bed sheets were not replaced. There were however plenty of cleaning products and my boyfriend and I brushed the floor and cleaned the benches down before we left as we were told we had to leave the place as we found it? Fair enough, but when we went to ask about the extra city tax charge and we're told it was for cleaning we were both extremely annoyed. First of all they lied and said it was €50 city tax when we arrived when it was only €5 and the rest was €45 for cleaning when the place wasn't cleaned the whole time we were there!! The staff were horrendous, really flippant and the girl had the cheek to shrug her shoulders at us when we asked about a complaints procedure. She also spoke to her manager in front of us who never looked up from her computer screen and just waved her hand as if to tell us to go away!!
The wifi was €10 for 4 days but it's worthless, it didn't work most of the time!
There is NO shop in the campsite.
There is NO lighting at all at night around the campsite which made me feel uneasy.
The gates also close at 11pm from the lake side. There is no notice of this!

On the plus side, you are right beside the lake and one restaurant (vecchio mulino) at the waters edge has beautiful food and the staff are very pleasant.
You can rent your own boat for a whole day closer into the town (you don't need a licence either) :)

We have emailed this camp site several times since returning home and have yet to hear back!

We were just here over a week ago. We’re 5 people in a very tiny caravan. The price was not fair. Inside, it's unstable and you can't even move. The kitchen utensils weren’t complete. Stove not operating properly. No privacy due to lack of toilet lock. There is no ladder to climb to get into the bunk bed. One bed was wet due to rainwater coming into the caravan. You'll probably notice band-aids covering holes on the wall or ceiling. It was indeed definitely a very low-cost fix. The use of air conditioning is limited.
What happened to the costly cleaning fee of 50 euros that we, the guests, paid if you are not cleaning the caravan well? It was so dirty when we arrived.
The restaurant next to the beach was too nasty to eat at because of the smell of decaying algae. It has to be removed there. We are incredibly dissatisfied. They do not deserve four stars. It's regrettable that they don't keep the camping up to standards. We wouldn't come back anymore!

****RUDE STAFF**** - Scroll down the page and you will see a trend forming, with a very low opinion of the staff available at the campsite.

THE STAFF ARE AWFUL, UNHELPFUL, CHEEKY, DISRESPECTFUL AND UNPROFESSIONAL

-No shop
-No lights at night -felt very unsafe
-Gates close at 11 to walkway along the lake
-Wifi costs £10 and is VERY POOR

When I questioned the staff about hidden costs on my bill they shrugged their shoulders and smerked. There was no complaints procedure and they just said there was nothing they could do. The manager was useless and didn't even lift her head from her computer screen when she heard the complaint. I have sent 5 emails to this campsite regarding the hidden costs all of which have been ignored.

I look for customer service when I am paying a lot of money for my holiday. Camping San Benedetto DID NOT delivery.

Camping San Benedetto was the best camping I have ever stayed at! Perfect location, not far from Peschiera del Garda. We stayed at air-conditioned mobile home, which was spotless, equipped with cuttlery, crockery, appliances and the kitchen, which was sufficient for our needs. During summer time, you can even grill outside. Staff is very friendly and helpful! I love this place

We stayed here for 3 weeks in mid-July in a mobile home Miami. On the web site the mobile pictures look exactly like the Perla.

Registration was quick and easy. I was a bit sceptical about paying with visa as other camp sites we have used around the lake, including its neighbour Bella Italia don’t have or use that facility.

The mobile was a 3 berth which would be ok for a small child but not 3 adults. It was perfect just for the 2 of us. It cost €85 a night and including €45 for final cleaning, €10 booking charge and €6 for 2 sets of towels, €1846 for 3 weeks was not bad.

It had double bed which was comfy, small bathroom (shower was 1.5 size tray which was bigger than normal), small living area with table, ac, small fridge/freezer, 4 gas hob with no oven, 14inch tv which had italian, dutch, german channels and english CNN. Outside there was a small patio with plastic tables and chairs. What we found unusual was there was no barbeque. This had to be rented for €7 a day. We would rather have a barbeque than a tv.

There are 2 pools onsite, a large kiddie’s pool and adult pool which opened at 10 and closed at 7. The adult pool had a 2 lane area for lane swimming but this was not adhered to during the day and they would have been better off taking these out as the kids and adults were always tripping on the tie wires. Caps, €2, must be worn unless you were bald.
The beds beside the pool were €1 a day. There were no soft covers on the beds but you could get a huge 2 adult size pillow/sac type thing to lie on.
You paid at the pool bar and were being checked by the life guards during the day. I saw people arrive at 4pm and the guard insisting they pay the €1. There were always beds available though. We used the grass area for lying out.
There were no blow up bed allowed in the pool but balls were allowed.
We did not use the pool bar for eating so can’t comment here.

The entertainment looked to be great for kids. The team walked around the pool trying to get everyone involved.

The onsite restaurant was very basic. The pizzas were ok, takeaway were €0.25 extra for the cardboard box. The Italian potatoes were not too bad.
The shop was a small room beside the bar restaurant. It was too expensive and no good. It always had bread though, till late in the day.
There is a bakery out the main gate across from the traffic lights. Go early though as it sells out quick. There is a small supermarket 5mins walk away. Turn right at traffic light and just before the petrol station. It took us 25mins to walk to Lidl which also has a Simply supermarket behind it with a nice coffee shop.
Another restaurant, Vecchio Mulino Beach Bar and Restaurant, on the lake side edge of the site was pretty good. The wrapped salmon and potatoes with leek and cream were lovely. They had a happy hour from 5.30 to 6.30 where a select few of dishes were ½ price. It would get very busy with queues around 8pm so if you are in a group book a table. They also have free wifi which was handy for viber to the kids at home.

Our favourite coffee or beer break was the small marina café about 10mins walk away. It was always quiet and seemed to be used by locals.
Also 2 restaurants we love in this town are La Terrazza, out the Sirmione road from Peschiera and On Blu which is a 5mins walk away beside the small supermarket and petrol station. On Blue was a great find this year.

The mosquitoes and biters were out this year in force. I even got bitten at the pool sitting under the bushes for shade.

This side of the lake is great for swimming especially for nervous swimmers as you can stand up a long way out. The walks on this side are short. A small marina about 10mins walk away and then you have to go out to the road away from the lake. It is 25mins to Peschiera town centre.
We have stayed at other side of the town before and we did go for a 3hr walk out towards gardaland but found this very busy as the people from the camp sites were using the walkway for sun bathing. Stepping around loungers and towels was not very nice.

We did rent bikes for a day at a cost of €6 each and cycled to Sirmione about 6miles away. Its mainly cycle path. Sirmione is very expensive but lovely to see. We have been here many times and even checked out a geocache that we had previously found. It’s still there for you that know what I am talking about.
Did notice that the police were stopping people on their bikes on the path into Peschiera on one occasion. But that was the only time and generally many people used their bike on this path.

Night security was very vigilant and we could hear them patrolling the site during the night in their golf buggies. They were not shy in telling people to quieten down.

Also there were “Blue” phones across from reception for ringing home, save on roaming charges. It was €5 for a card and that was 50mins to Ireland and 75mind to England.

Overall it’s a nice site. Would we go back? For short notice booking and price, yes. We only booked this 4 week prior.
But because the kids are no longer coming with us I think we may try a different holiday. This is the 4th camp site we have used on the lake and they all have their positive and negatives.

Getting There/Back.
We flew with Aerlingus to Milan Linate (usually take Ryanair to Bergamo) with rucksack’s for carry on. Took a Starfly coach to Milan Central train station for €5 single. There was a guy in a booth in the baggage reclaim area selling these tickets. At the train station we got a ticket directly to Peschiera del Garda for €9.85 single and took about 1hr 40mins. A taxi from Peschiera train station to Camping San Benedetto cost €11.50.

On the way back we took a bus (stop is on main road just across from camp site and purchase tickets in the tobacco shop) to Peschiera train station and a train direct to Milan, that actually broke down and the Malpensa express for €10 single to Malpensa airport. You can get a bus from Milan central station to Malpensa aiport for same price but the train is lovely. Take it even if you have kids and extra bags.

We have just returned from a fabulous 10 day trip to Peschieria, Lake Garda. This was our first experience of camping in Europe (I should say 'glamping' really, we had an air conditioned mobile home!!!). The check in was swift, the mobile home, Corollo (2 bed, 2 shower/toilet) was immaculate and right on the lake front with amazing views, the site was kept immaculately clean: serviso vans constantly checking the recycle areas and emptying regularly throughout the day, security and general checking also going on. The entertainment team, Go Up, deserve medals for their tireless efforts to encourage activity!! (in truth we only really participated in a few activities but their presence 9am until 11pm did not go unnoticed). I know some would wish for more bustle and slightly nearer the town centre but we really loved the peace and tranquil area in which this camp has its position. Not many British but that bourne no bearing to us and we got on well with the Italian, German and Dutch neighbours!! Thank you.

We spent 1 week at this site with our motorhome. The pitches were quite difficult to get into and were large enough for us, but some of the caravan and awnings were squashed in so probably not a site to go to with a large van.

Not many English on the site, mainly Dutch but they are so friendly, you feel right at home.

The site is directly on the lake and has it's own slipway for launching boats and many people had small inflatables, perfect.

We did have to upgrade our electricity as the 3amp provided was not even enough to boil the kettle.

Location is good, take a bike and you are 5 mins from the town and there is plenty to do on the late. Watch the bikes on the ferry, you have to pay double to take them on!

The facilities are old but clean and hot water was plentiful. The reception staff were not so friendly, but overall this was a good site and is very good value for money after spending 2 weeks in France on sites that were around £60 per night.
