Camping Bella Italia receives mixed feedback from guests. While the hotel is praised for its prime lakeside location and clean accommodations, including family-friendly pools, many travelers express concerns over value for money, highlighting hidden costs and expensive amenities. The service experience varies, with some guests encountering friendly staff, yet others face slow maintenance responses. Overcrowding, noise, and outdated facilities are recurrent issues, especially in the rooms, which are often described as needing renovation. Despite childcare activities being a plus, the overall atmosphere is affected by the negative aspects.

I really wanted to like Bella Italia as I had heard great things from friends and family however my own experience didn’t match up. This is a tired and as stated in a previous review “Rammed To The Rafters” resort.

We stayed in a three bed mobile home through euro camp, the kitchen/living area were decent size and layout, the kids rooms fine, however the main bedroom was so infuriatingly small (you couldn’t even stand to change your clothes). There is a toilet room (just a toilet!) and a shower room (shower and sink) which were fine, however it did get annoying having to cross the mobile home to wash your hands after you use the toilet! The mobile home offered zero privacy with every window being overlooked by a neighbour in extremely close proximity. It was clean on arrival but for some reason felt damp for our entire stay. The site in which the mobile was on appeared unkept.

If I were to ever return, which I believe is doubtful, I would try the bungalows as they appeared to have a little more privacy and appear to be situated in a safer area for small kids (no cars driving).

The restaurants on site are good with the exception of the food served at the pool area which is vile.

Which brings me on to the pool itself, be prepared to queue from 8:30am outside the gates at the pool in order to get a sun bed. I only braved the queue once (on day 7) after days of having no bed and most importantly no sun shade for the kids. I watched as grown men and women sprinted once the gates opened to get a sun bed (or several beds in some people’s cases) There has to be a better way of running this?!?

The best thing about Bella Italia camping is its direct access to the lake through several gated areas within the site. Here you can access the town of Peschiera which is fabulous and a 10 mins walk away along the stunning lakeside. There is also an on site train service from the site to Peschiera which is very handy and the kids loved it.

We had an unfortunate dealing with a Staff member in the reception area who provided us with the wrong information regarding how to get to Garda land which ruined our plans on the day and upset everyone. We end up waiting for over an hour at the wrong bus stop with two small kids in the heat and in the end had to abort our plans. We even double checked with this particular staff member during our wait for the bus and they assured us that we were at the right stop and that the bus was running late.

So to wrap it up, I think this resort in its day was probably the place to be but today, it appears to be just a money making machine. It’s obvious that they have just packed as many mobile homes caravans etc in to whatever space available. It needs more maintenance to the grounds around the mobile homes and the kids play areas could do with a revamp.

Spent Easter here probably our 5th time to visit. We stayed in girasole suite owned by the site was fine clean and had blankets wfivj were needed as it was a damp cool Easter this year. The site is tired, was mucky because of the rain but it’s so well located we always go back. The food in the main restaurant wasn’t as good as it has been in the past esp the salads, basic iceberg nothing tasty maybe just not in season who knows. The site does it’s job but year after year the same gripes….the supermarket staff on the tills are needlessly rude and the check in is a joke. Easter Saturday the queue took 2 hours. Two hours!!! Surely this can be expedited I mean I had spent 15 mins filling in details online before flying for what??? Crazy. Tired hungry kids and the same issues on busy days every year. Sort it out.

Good points

- Great pool area for kids

- great beach with lots of restaurants and bars

Main restaurant onsite is well worth visiting.

- can get dotto train into town for about ÂŁ13 family of 4 ( more restaurants and shops)

-bouncy castle for kids nighttime

- Good bus service

- supermarket offers freshly baked pastries and full range of food/supplies needed but at a higher price. Lidl just up the road .

-feels.safe and quiet at nighttime

- washing machine facilities on site €5 per wash ( takes €1, 50, 20 )

- every two weeks there is a massive fireworks display

Bad points

On arrival huge queue which felt like it took forever to check in at 4pm

- we stayed in premier accommodation with eurocamp but felt it was very basic and too close to each other.

Pool areas and beach are extremely busy

- very small! living space and sofa is not comfortable ( as soon as you sit on it all the cushions slide of ).

-shower either roasting or freezing.

- when you put dishwasher on all
electrics cut off constantly

- beds are really basic and uncomfortable. We had to pay for bedding and only got two pillows for double bed. Also when turned in bed during the night the bed collapsed ( this happened to neighbour too)

- kettle took 13 minutes to boil

- very tired and shabby just missing comfort which you want after long day out and about....but for people who like to live like their at school camp perfect!

We were unfortunately quite unhappy with our stay at Bella Italia.

First of all we had to cue for a very long time upon arrival since there were so many people checking in and the reception was far too small to handle that amount of guests. This was also the case when checking out but worse since everyone has to check out before 10 am. The cue went around the whole building and we had to stand outside in the sun and heat for ages.

The campsite has a lot to offer, especially for children and it is a definite plus to have most of what you need within the premises but despite the many different areas such as pools, playgrounds and more it is still not enough for the very large amount of guests. It was absolutely crowded everywhere.

We were assigned a parking spot but were unable to park there (or anywhere else for that matter) as it was already taken. We eventually had to park on our patio. Cars were parked everywhere due to the lack of parking spaces, wherever people could find room for their cars they would park. Every guest received a sticker for their car window with the intent to insure that no other vehicles entered and/or parked within the campsite but we noticed a lot of cars which did not have the stickers but no one seemed to check the cars. Also, vehicles were not controlled whilst entering.

In the same regard, guests were provided bracelets which were never checked or used in any fashion. Anyone could enter the site and use the facilities, with or without bracelets.

The facilities were definitely not up to a five star standard but rather 3 or maybe 3,5 at the very most. Especially the playgrounds, arcade and other activity areas were poorly conditioned. A lot of machines were completely out of use or did not function as expected and felt like a cheap pop-up carnival. Not what you would expect from a five star camping. You should also not have to pay extra for some of these activities such as bouncy towers and jungle gyms for example.

I do not know the standards of other accommodations but the apartment which we stayed in was very simple and felt cheap. It was functional but not very pleasant. We lived on the ground floor and our terrace/patio was located right up to the street where both cars and people constantly passed by. There was no fence or hedge surrounding the terrace which left us feeling both unsafe but also without privacy. Furthermore the patio door was the only means of entering and leaving as there were no other doors to the apartment and this door was in poor condition. A hard push would have opened the door.

The air condition was not very good and only had one setting. It could not be adjusted to your own preference. In one room it barely worked which made it far too hot and the one that actually worked we had to turn off at times since it became really cold. It would have been nice to be able to adjust yourself.

The kitchen however was well equipped which we were pleased with.

All in all, the kids had fun in the pools which was our main reason for visiting but we will be less likely to revisit this camping.

I can only recommend this campsite. I have been there 3 times with my parents and siblings and it is always great to go there. The reason: There is a lot to do within the complex, such as playing football, visiting the arcades, eating ice cream, going to the pool area, etc. Speaking of the pool: The pool area is generally very nice. There are two really great, large slides, a slide tower with 3 smaller slides, and a children's slide in the children's area, as well as two water playgrounds.
The pool is clean, but heavily chlorinated. If you want to use the toilet, you should not go there because the toilet is just as clean and smells.
The cabins are mostly clean and their condition is satisfactory. In the evenings it is usually very comfortable to sit outside.
If you want to eat something, you should go to "La Terazze" down by the lake. The prices are very fair, the pizzas are extremely good and the waiting times are short.
The complex in general is very well maintained, clean and beautiful.

Tips from me:
- Down at the square there is a train that goes to the center of Peschiera. You can go shopping and eat well there

- If you want a great spot by the pool, you should pay attention to the opening times. The pool opens at 9 a.m. at the earliest and you should be there at least 10 minutes before it opens.

- Down below there is a small shop with a huge selection of groceries. The shop is not the cheapest, but if you want bread rolls, you should definitely get the 50 cent. white flatbread rolls. They are extremely fluffy, warm and filling.

- Important: The shop opens at around 7:30 a.m. If you want bread rolls, you have to be prepared for a long queue, unless you arrive 30 minutes before it opens.

- Take fairy lights and decorations with you if you like sitting outside.

It's not a campsite, it's an industry and like any industry the only objective is turnover and earning as much as possible; they also prefer the clientele of bungalows and similar to those of pitches. We booked a pitch for 8 nights but due to bad weather (just think that the Adige/Garda tunnel was open) we asked to leave early but we could only do so if we paid half of the remaining nights!!! Honestly, an unwelcome response given that the facility would have closed on Sunday and we certainly wouldn't have caused any major inconveniences... I could understand in high season but 4 days after closing, no.
At the same time, however, for those staying in the bungalows, given that they are in the low season, they gave at least one night free.
Furthermore, very slow check-in and check-out and unfriendly staff; we asked for the telephone number of the pizzeria which is inside the campsite and we were told that they didn't have it, the only way was to download the app!!! We downloaded the app and they never answered the phone!
I conclude by saying that on a 5-star campsite you cannot accept muddy pitches. Apart from this structure with clean toilets and for those who love these mega structures you will find everything here. I definitely won't be back!!

We spent 5 pleasant days in July in a bungalow, however, the price was a little too high for its quality because the cleaning was done in an expeditious manner. The air conditioning was set at 19° and its remote control was not provided... We had to contact a guy to come and change it, which is unacceptable.

The swimming pools were only filled with German and Dutch tourists. From 9 a.m., these tourists blocked all the deckchairs with their towels and spent the day throwing balloons at each other, which was quite disturbing. I even had to go out to avoid any arguments.

However, the geographical location of the campsite is exceptional. We appreciated having all points of interest less than 15 minutes away. We particularly liked the direct access to the lake and its promenade, as well as the restaurants, bars, supermarket and several rental services nearby.

Unfortunately, the 30 minute wait during check-in was exhausting after a long trip and no one to accompany you. Fortunately, we didn't choose the mobile homes, because they are really too close together. Although the spirit of camping justifies it, we could not give up a minimum of living space and privacy.

This caping does not deserve five stars because we know what to expect for this standard, but we still had a pleasant time thanks to its ideal location.

Don’t be put off by the reviews. This place is amazing if you want a value for money, comfortable holiday on Lake Garda. We travelled with Jet2 and stayed in a bungalow, we have no complaints for the cost of the 7 night break. Restaurants are superb, the supermarket was great and the lake was a 4 minute walk from our beds.

I didn’t experience any miserable staff, everyone went out of their way to be helpful and smiley. No problems getting our €100 deposit back and the cleaning fee didn’t apply.

Take mosquito spray, as you would have to if you stayed at a 5 star hotel, and be prepared to make your own beds and mop your floor a couple of times during your stay, because you’re not paying for that 5 star hotel!!!

A large campsite, which has advantages like everything there is! You don't really have to leave the premises. Swimming pool on site and directly on Lake Garda. Many negative reviews about check-in, but this really went with us in 5 min! Friendly reception. Everything went super smooth there. We stayed in June (officially still low season), at 09.00 the pool opened, and at 09.01 you no longer have a sunbed. It is mega busy, even at the toilet you sometimes have to wait. At the two water equipment where a barrel of water occasionally falls over you will not see anyone playing, the other 3 slides are crowded. We stayed in a 6 person mobile home from Allcamps, which is fine just not for 6 people. There were three of us and that is already pretty tight, I would really take that into account. Pillows made no sense (even better to sleep without). The mobile homes near our "street" were fortunately not noisy, which was nice! Furthermore, I think it is a clean campsite, enough nice / tasty restaurants, along the lake you walk to the village of peschiera with many terraces, market, shops. Staff hardly seen, not necessarily very friendly or anything. Read lots of negative reviews, but we had a really nice week!

Camping that looks good on its site but deserves between 2 and 3 stars.
1 star for presence restaurants inside
1 star for presence several swimming pools
1 check-in time in August: in 1/2 hour
To be significantly improved:
interior apartments: rather cramped, poor mattresses, small bathroom without bidet, air conditioning only in the kitchen and rooms that could not refresh

pools: beautiful but not very clean and too crowded. Foot cleaning must be imposed on people

tourists/excursions: even if the customers are almost all foreigners, brochures and tourist excursions must also be available in Italian, after all we are in Italy
supermarket: defending Italian products from tourist products (Saxon products)

attractions for children and train: they should make cheaper prices, we are inside a village / camping and everything is charged except the pools
