We think we have found one of our favourite places in Europe! After a not very pleasant journey from the UK (budget airlines definitely mean budget experience!). It was such an amazing and refreshing turn around to be welcomed at Port Royal from the minute we stepped onto the resort. We were welcomed warmly with drinks and a personal introduction by the manager, Evgenia. Evi and her team were friendly, accommodating and went out of their way to make my partner and I feel so welcomed. It was my fiancée's birthday trip and the hotel and staff continued to surprise us with little presents to make experience extra special and completely unforgettable. We are so truly grateful as this was above and beyond. The resort itself is wonderful - clean, modern and bright with a delicious selection of food and restaurants but honestly, the place would be nothing without the people. Kolimbia itself is small and quiet, so if that's what you are looking for - it's perfect. There are a few lovely restaurants around the area but you could honestly just stay on the resort for your whole stay. We want to thank you all for such a wonderful stay and making my fiancée's birthday extra special - finally a special shout out to Manolis by the beach! Probably one of the best holidays we've ever had. Finally, the best testament to a place is if people return. Just look at the reviews for the amount of people that return. My partner and I have never returned to a holiday destination …but we will definitely be back here. 6 stars. Chiko & Lucy

Just returned from a wonderful week at Port Royal Villas & Spa. The hotel itself was modern and bright with a welcoming reception. We had a sea view, shared pool room which was lovely and definitely worth it to have this little luxury even though most of the room like this were in shade still amazing to walk out onto the patio and gaze at the view. The hotel had two pools, a larger one and a smaller one that had a waterfall and meandering river. Both the pools were freezing so we were only tempted to get in when it was very warm outside but most days we went to the private beach a couple of minutes away where the sea was still warm enough to enjoy even though we were into October. The hotel had a couple of restaurants but we mainly went for the buffet option not just for the wide choice of food options but for the lovely staff working there. They were always friendly and welcoming and happy to help in any way. A special mention to Nikos who worked tirelessly everyday at the show cooking area ensuring we had exactly what we wanted from pasta at dinner to eggs at breakfast and always welcomed us with smiles and a little chat. One thing we liked about the resort was that it was not too touristy. No Burger King etc etc. Just a handful of bars, a few restaurants and some gift shops. Location wise it’s half way between Rhodes town and Lindos both worth a visit. Al in all I will definitely be booking this hotel again. Loved it!

We arrived on the 2nd August for a 10 night all inclusive stay for our honeymoon. We booked a beach facing bungalow We arrived very late at night and were shown to our room via golf buggy. The porter was very helpful and took our cases upto our room on the first floor. He delivered food, champagne and a celebration cake for our honeymoon which was a lovely touch and needed after a long day travelling. The room was lovely and clean, bed was very comfortable and the linen was of good quality. The bathroom was usable but we felt that it needed to be updated and would of preferred a walk in shower. Towels changed daily and toiletries replenished once used. The view was amazing and the room was quiet and we weren't disturbed buy any noise. One complaint though was the air conditioning which was quite poor but this could be due to the 100 degree heat outside. The pool area was perfect, we used the main pool only which was warm and refreshing. The sun beds are top quality and very comfortable. The towels were provided buy a lovely friendly guy who was always pleasant and chatty. We used the main dining room in the evenings which was pleasant. The food variety was good, it was warm but a little repetitive. Breakfast was the best meal of the day. We used the Amira bar at lunchtime which had a good selection but in the evenings it was a little more basic on choice. We did eat out a few times in the resort. We used the main lobby bar in the evenings which was thoroughly enjoyable. Costas made amazing cocktails, he was friendly and knowledgeable and an asset to the hotel. All the staff at the hotel were efficient and friendly. The guy who served us at rhe beach was a star! We hired a car from the hotel which was good value and we saw some of the beautiful island but I'd suggest having a car for more than one day so you can see more places. We had a late flight home and requested to keep our room as we were informed we wouldn't be able to use a room for a shower prior to leaving and we would have to shower and get ready at the pool showers which we weren't prepated to do. We were charged €107 to keep our room. I'm disappointed to read in another review that this was complimentary to other guests. Overall we had a fantastic time. We would not return to this hotel simply because we like to experience different parts of the world. I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend the resort either as it was very shabby and run down.

Third visit to this hotel in the last 8 years and there have been some changes since our last visit with issues that could be rectified: 1) The bar at the small lagoon pool has been closed and guests have to walk to the main pool bar to get a drink. This is an inconvenience, especially for elderly guests when the weather is very hot. A limited waitress service was introduced whilst we were. 2) The main buffet restaurant is now closed at lunchtimes, and guests have access to a limited menu at the armira restaurant. As all inclusive guests this became quite repetitive. 3) By far the biggest issue is the lack of entertainment in the evenings. There is a 'DJ' some nights at the main pool bar who plays house music for the entertainment of the under 40s. For anybody over that age there is no entertainment whatsoever, with a fantastic outside space area next to the main lobby bar being left unused. When we did venture to the pool bar, there was totally inadequate seating and we were forced to sit on sun loungers. This hotel used to have excellent evening entertainment with additional seats and tables put out of an evening when the pool bar was used. I must comment that the food was tasty and plentiful and that the staff were as always hardworking, polite and willing to help with any requests. Also, the views and setting at the hotel are absolutely wonderful and it would be hard to find any better. With a few changes as suggested I would be happy to award 5 stars in the future.

I don’t usually write holiday reviews, but have to say that we've just had a fantastic week’s stay at Port Royal Villas & Spa hotel and can’t rate it highly enough. As other reviews have said, the staff are excellent - very friendly and always eager to help. Special praise to the reception manager Evi and waitress Evaggelia who both made our stay extra special, and were great at helping me to arrange my proposal to my girlfriend at the seaside candlelit dinner - which was perfect! We stayed B&B, which was fine for us as we ventured out a few times during the day and also had some evening meals out in local Kolymbia (just a few mins walk) where there are a number of nice local restaurants - especially Taverna Ouzaki and Rossi Di Sero Pizzeria. Food Box on the main road is also a great option for a cheaper Greek lunchtime snack (we had numerous Souvlaki pittas!) However, when we did eat at the hotel - for breakfast or lunch / dinner in the Armira or La Pasteria, the food was always great and can definitely see why some people would choose All Inclusive. The selection of drinks (and cocktails) are also great. We had a sea view room (but without the swim up pool), which was lovely and spacious, with great views overlooking the nice beach and sea. I’m glad we didn’t pay extra for the pool rooms as they didn’t seem to be used very often and tended to be in the shade, but they’re also a nice extra if you want that added luxury. In terms of activities, we played tennis and table tennis, and used the modern gym a few mornings during our stay (which you now need to book in advance, due to Covid, etc). We spent some days just lounging by the lovely pools (there are two), which aren’t heated but were ‘refreshing’ during a day of sunbathing. We also did the hike up to Tsambika Monastery (which was fairly challenging but well worth it for the spectacular views!) and took a boat trip to Lindos from the local harbour (which was a great day out). Overall, I would highly recommend the hotel (and the staff) and will forever be grateful to them for helping make our holiday (and my marriage proposal) memorable - and successful! Many thanks!
