This was our first time to this island and we were not really sure what we were getting into. I didn't know anything about the island, or this property, just that it was a much needed vacation. From the moment we arrived, this property exceeded our expectations in every way. The grounds are lush and beautiful. We did not book the all inclusive option but we added it at check in. We are a family of 5 and the add on price was too good to pass up. Breakfast every day was great, and each day had different options. Lunch always had a good variety, and dinner was a different theme each night. We never tired of the food or felt like we were always eating the same things. Our room was quaint, basic, but what I expected for an island. The villas are very authentic and we felt like we were experiencing culture. There are 3 bar options and they are always eager to please! Marcelo was the best bar tender on the island! He always came up with a colorful surprise drink for the ladies. He was very attentive and worked really hard. All of the employees at this resort were hard working. Their english is a bit of a barrier but we always figured each other out. We saw Iguanas and the raccoons are like cats, not afraid at all! I highly recommend this resort. Wifi is included but it was a bit spotty. It's an island! If you need to be connected at 100%, stay on the mainland. It is peaceful and laid back, yet beautiful and endearing.…
These are traditional style villas with wooden balconies with hammocks, lots of trees and greenery, some very close to the rooms. Paths wind through the grounds from reception area to the sun loungers, saw iguanas and raccoons in the grounds. Plenty of room in the sun lounger area - not all squashed up together like some hotels. There’s a small bar serving this area with drinks and snacks, staff are very attentive, but not pushy. Also loungers across the beach road on the sand. There’s a bar in the reception area, cocktails a little bit hit and miss, caipirinha served as a long drink in a large jam jar type glass! Nice area to sit pre dinner drinks. Decent size restaurant, we stayed B/B which was very acceptable, glass of fizz to start the day! Usual egg station , smoothie bar and meats and cheese plus hot selection. The room was spacious so was the bathroom, decent shower and comfortable bed, all kept clean and tidy by friendly staff. It’s about 20 minute walk along the beach, to the small town for shops, bars, restaurants , the island taxis are golf buggies and reasonably priced 50MEX$ To town . There are no tarmac roads, they are all sand so can be a little tricky when it’s wet with some deep puddles. We would definitely stay again, in fact we are coming back later in the year with our family, Lovely chill out week.…
Yes it is nice and the staff are great but these are more traditional type of rooms and nothing modern. If you want the more up to date and modern type of hotel stay at the Palapas (next door). Service is very much on par but rooms here are bigger but not so modern. Food great.
This property has very nice rooms and small suites. First floor suites are great for families with kids, easily accessed they have a bit less privacy but larger balconies. Second floor suites are acessed via a spiral stair. We started with a first floor room and were graciously moved to a much more desirable (for a couple) second-floor suite. Front desk staff is very accommodating and the restaurant offers a lovely buffet breakfast. There is a small swimming pool and direct beachfront access. The resort appears to be accommodating to children but does not offer any special amenities for them. One criticism is that the beachfront is no sufficient equipped with lounge chairs, causing a morning rush to turf out the limited number of available ones. Plus, the chairs are old and deteriorating. Some additional staff could be dedicated to the beachfront and related amenities, as some sea kayaks were no longer seaworthy but no one appeared to be in charge.…
We went as a small group of families and had a great time. The villas are great and there is a great loungy area between the resort and the beach. As with most places in Holbox, the beach is technically across the "road" but there's no cars, so really not a big deal. The all inclusive package was a great deal with solid food. My only complaint is that the pool is on the opposite side of the property from the beach...so really nothing to complain about.
"Ground floor best for families with kids; second floor has balconies that are more private; some third floor rooms are without balconies."Read full review
