Fantastic concept but needs some tweaking. The place is ideally situated in the countryside away from noise and traffic, down a dirt country road with no one around with beatifull grounds, a beatiful pool, but the rooms (at least my room) needed much improvement.
We stayed in one of the "casitas" down from the windmills, the exterior looked very nice, and the inside wasn't a bad room, it just needed help with the amenities. The bed didn't look very inviting it was pushed against one corner of the room with a set of stairs going to the loft across the bottom corner of the bed, a small kitchenette at the entrance and a very small bathroom, besides being old it that needed the most help. The hand held shower had no place to hang (it set on top of the faucets). so you had to wet yourself, put the shower down, than soap up and then wash yourself off. The soap dispenser had no soap (good thing we bought our own) and the sink was just a sink on a cabinet with no place to put your toiletries (Equivalent to a 'one star' hotel). Aside from all of this the place had a covered sitting area at the entrance with a small table and chairs where breakfast was left in a basket in the morning and a daybed. No one told us we had to take the breakfast basket back up to the main house? so it set there all day with milk, cheese and yogart in it.
Parking is another issue, it's aleast 100 yards or more from our 'casita' you have to carry your bags that distance along gravel paths thru the woods.
The windmills, one was converted into a liabrary and the other into an exercise room and the main building were all very well apointed and decorated, wish they had carried that design thru all of the rooms.
All-in-all the place was okay just needs some improvements.

We paid 58 euros for a twin room, one night. Plus 20 euros, each person, for dinner and breakfast. On the Rota Vicentina this appears to be the only accommodation between S. do Cacem and Cercal. Unless you're packing a lot of food, you certainly need the dinner and breakfast, and they're well worth the price. Our room was in the "Familia" building, which has 3 en suite rooms and a huge communal kitchen, well equipped, with free coffee, tea, hot chocolate. The room was clean, very nice. Beds OK, bathroom and shower clean and functional. WiFi was very weak. And spotty: on/off on/off. It wasn't much better in the main building or the dining room. Moinhos has 8 or 10 outbuildings scattered through the shrubbery below the two old windmills. Mosquitoes were rampant. Our room had a plug-in mosquito "diffuser" with a bottle of liquid screwed into it. The bottle was empty, and the electronic plug didn't work (its red light didn't go on). We got another one, and it seemed to do the job. No more mosquitoes, once it got working. Side note: The place accepts cash only. When we booked, the place wanted half of it wired in advance; the wire itself cost another $35. When we paid the bill, they didn't know about the prepaid half. She took our word for it, didn't seem surprised. But, clearly, our reservation would have been good even without prepaying half.

We stayed there for one night during our rota vicentina hike and it was overal a good experience.

It is located near the trail which is very convenient. The surroundings are very pleasant and the two old wind mills full of character.

Communications to arrange the stay with them was not always easy, but this is the country side way of life I guess.

No one was there to welcome us and the room was not ready, altough we arrive 3h after check in time.

The room we had in the main building was pleasant, although the bed could have been better (matress and pillow).

It is unfortunate that the breakfast is not served outdoor.

The food we had (as walkers) was a bit expensive (20€/each) for what we get in terms of quality (the kind of menu you get at 9€ in town), not quantity (we got a lot).

Finally they charge us 2€ more than what was agreed, which we realized afterwards.

Overall, good experience and I encourage you to visit the place, and them to improve those points.

Overall the price is high for what is offered.

That or we were very unlucky that day:
-logistics need improvement as when we arrived, dinner main course were finished - and there's no dining alternative nearby especially if you came in walking more than 20 km.

-the room we stayed in, adjacent to the laundry had water pump noises every 15 minutes all through the night.

On the other hand, the staff tried to resolve issues: arranged for meal with left overs, and fortunately we had another room we moved into well into the night.

Yes seems like an idyllic place, but can improve.

Regardless, overall experience was not the best for the charged price.

I am walking the Rota Vicentina with a friend and we stayed here after our first night of walking. Nice apartment and swimming pool and lovely location overlooking the rolling fields. A couple of windmills add to the character. We really liked the owners who prepared a lovely evening meal for us. Thoroughly recommended.

We stayed here whilst walking the Rota Vicentina. What a beautiful place. Our hosts were most welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
We had a really comfortable room with outside day bed to relax once we settled in.
We had dinner (need to request in advance) and breakfast here. The food was fabulous. We also asked for a packed lunch and enjoyed a gourmet lunch as well with healthy local produce.
It was great value.
We would thoroughly recommend this place - a lovely oasis right on the historic way.
The old flour mills are in the process of being restored - great to take the time to look at them.

I visited this lovely B&B in Portugal with my son and daughter in law. The setting was perfect and we were greeted by the owner Flora Bella. This amazing stay could have been exceptional with a few minor changes to the accommodation. We only had 2 windows with fly wire and there was definitely a mosquito and fly problem. No fly wire in the lounge or bedroom and with no ceiling fans or aircon it was quite stuffy. The pool also had some sunscreen film around the edge which gave a dirty appearance Having said that we loved our stay. The staff were very friendly and breakfasts very satisfying.

Hiking Rota Vicentina, I came across this wonderful place and loved it. Three wonderful ladies who run it created a most welcoming atmosphere, and made me feel like a part of the family. The room was large, warm and smelled great. The dinner and the breakfast were fantastic!

We stayed as a couple here as part of our Rota de Vincentina walk. We had organised dinner and the food was very good. Soup, salad, main course and fruit for dessert. The cod was very good and we enjoyed our meal and sharing it with a fellow walker.
Our request for extra pillows was met happily and we found the service to be very lovely. We cannot fault anything. They looked after our needs.
The reason for non-excellent is that everywhere we have been in Portugal for the last 3 weeks - has very good coffee in the morning or afternoon. We were given instant coffee and if we had wanted the 'pod' coffee we would have been charge 1 Euro?!?
Morning coffee is a religion for some of us and we all agreed at breakfast that we were disappointed in this one element - all else was very good!
