This was one of the hotels on the Alpe Adria cycleway and we were a group of 8. Its a very pretty hotel nicely located just a short walk from the main streets and we had a lovely outlook from the window. We arrived there after a day cycling in the rain and we got the hotel to do 2 loads of laundry for us at a very reasonable cost. Very helpful staff, clean comfortable room & great breakfast.

We arrived by bike on a cycling tour from Slovenia. Discus bike store. We had a third floor room, in the roof, with slipping ceilings, full of books and crannies, which we thought quirky and enchanting. As we were on a half board bays, we ate there too and the food was delicious and beautifully cooked. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We were again on a Ski Camp in this wonderful town of Tarvisio. Even if it is Summer, it must be a fairy tell place. If you visit Udine, it is just a 30 minutes drive to this lovely hotel, called Edelhof. We booked in August last year for this end of January, and now it is almost full for next February. Even if you come just for Lunch or for Dinner it is worth the stop. The cuisine and the service is amazing!!! If you love Italian specialities, and Italian wine, mmmhhh, this is the place to come. We got the very same apartment as we had last year, and we didn't mention, but they prepared that with the baby cot. They remembered all our requests from last year. This is what I say, a hotel, can have the 5 stars, but the staff is the one who makes it a 5 star. This location is categorized 4 star, but if it would be after me, and my family :-), I would give 5 stars!!! The room is wonderful, the bed comfortable, big bathroom, and they have also a lovely spa area. 2 minutes away on foot, is the centre of the town, and they have some very nice shops, also the market, with leather items, a bit like the Bazar of Istanbul. During the communist times Hungarians were coming here to do business with leather jackets :-) And if you are skiing, the hotel is just at the bottom of the cable chair. At the end of the day you can slide till the hotel, and in the morning when you start the day, you can walk to the cable chair. And the staff is gorgeous. Helpful, attentive, professional, making everything for the comfort of their guests. We are sure, we will go back next year, and even if we go just in the area, we will never stay somewhere else. Thank you very much for everything Hotel Edelhof :-)

I’d give this hotel a rating of “good” rather than average or very good. It’s official 4* but feels more like 3*. Plus side: friendly staff, very clean, quiet and spacious rooms, historic building, lots of attractive wooden floors and painted furniture. Conveniently situated as you can walk to the town easily. Bike storage and plenty of parking. The downside was that it felt quite Spartan and basic, no kettle, only two small plastic cups in the room, no comfortable chairs. The building a very pretty and has views of the hills from some rooms, but it is surrounded by car parks (public and hotel). Breakfast was fine but they kept a close eye on the milk supply - none was freely available with the buffet, milk was doled out in small jugs, insufficient for adding to coffee as well as having cereal. Worst thing was that our bathroom window opened onto the balcony of the next room and people on the balcony could also look directly at our bed. Fine for a night or two but not for a longer stay.

We stayed in this hotel during a bicycling trip through parts of Italy, Slovenia and Austria. The hotel is in a nice location which allows you to walk or bike to all the local restaurants and shops. I was traveling with a friend rather than a spouse which is always a bit problematic since most rooms in hotels seem geared for couples. We were put into an attic room which was quite large and roomy but you had to worry about hitting your head on the beams. The one large bed was on the main floor and there were two very small single beds in a loft-like area with a small stair step leading up to it. The bathroom was large and pleasant. The only problem we had was that the window in the bathroom wouldn't stay closed and it got quite cold at night so we had to prop backpacks against it to keep it closed all night long. There are towel warming racks in the bathroom and in the main room which are very helpful for drying hand laundry and for keeping the chill off the room. Wi-fi was a bit spotty but it was available sometimes. We had a nice cooking demonstration by the excellent cook in their kitchen too. Views are wonderful from here!

This is a very lovely hotel in a good situation near ski lifts, the golf course and a short stroll to the town centre. We had a huge room beautifully furnished in typical painted wood alpine style. There was a wrap round balcony and a spacious bathroom. A slight problem with a rather rickety bed was sorted out without fuss the next day, these things happen. The restaurants are also very beautiful with lots of carved wood etc. The food was good, the chef obviously trying to be a little experimental, which doesn't always quite come off. By and large though the quality was good and the portions large. Staff were also friendly and room price very reasonable. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Not only the pool But also kids' space. As people In Tarvisio say hotel Edelhof is the most beautiful hotel In the city, and I really believe that is the truth. We had family Room, In fact two rooms connected. Very spacious, nice and big bathroom. Everything was very clean. All rooms Are different But very nice furnished with original hand made and painted furniture in wood. Rooms In ceiling have wooden roof and everything gives you warm and cosy feeling. We loved it. Hotel misses kinder space. Position of the hotel is great. 10 minutes Light walk to the city center and it is situated directly at the biginning of the ski lift. I also have to mention that Food In the hotel restaurant is great, and especcialy Illy coffee that they serve.

I have travelled throughout the world, and have stayed at many hotels varying from 3-5 star, and to be honest I have never felt more comfortable at a hotel than at the Edelhof Hotel.
From offering to drive my family and I to the train station, to taking us to Monte Lussari Cable Car, and being very helpful, understanding , I could not recommend this hotel enough.
All the staff including the owners were so pleasant and helpful that I have returned three times now and will every year from now on.
Well done Hotel Edelhof , keep up the great work.

we stayed there three nights;we booked the room two months in advance asking for a specific room we know ( it was our second time there)because we need a large room (we have a child).they gave us a small room where it was difficult find the place for the baby cab; they were not so kind as the first time, maybe because we decided non to have dinner at their restaurant( food is good but really expensive).

Overall it was a nice stay in this hotel BUT we expected a 4 stars hotel and this trully wasnt. The room equipment was average, personell friendly but without any knowledge for foreign language, and you couldnt adjust the heating (it was always warm and we had to open windows to bring down the temeprature)
