Cape Weligama is part of the Resplendent Ceylon “best of Sri Lanka” circuit, created by the family owned Dilmah Tea Company. Three Relais & Chateaux resorts; Tea Trails, Cape Weligama & Wild Coast Tented Lodge, form an enchanting "Route de Bonheur (Happiness)" from tea fields to clifftop beach & safari lodge. Cape Weligama is a gorgeous cliff top resort on 12 tropical acres above the Indian Ocean near Galle. 39 Villas & Suites offer the most sumptuous rooms in Sri Lanka, set out like a traditional Sri Lankan village. At Ocean Terrace guests interact with chefs to select fresh seafood. Tableau serves daily changing modern Sri Lanka cuisine. The Cape Club is the venue for afternoon cream tea, sunset cocktails & nightcaps. The Surf Bar is poised at the cliff edge, perfect for lunch and sundowners after a morning surfing. The iconic 60m crescent shaped infinity pool takes in sweeping 270-degree blue views.

We loved everything about cape weligama. The villas are located in between the trees and each three villas share a private pool. We were greeted upon arrival and given a tour of the resort in the buggy. The staff are very professional, helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant. We

Hi, we look forward to your visit. Half board includes an a la carte multi course breakfast and either lunch or dinner. Since the breakfast is lavish you would likely have dinner with us. This is an elegant three course a la carte gourmet event at the Ocean Terrace. Drinks are not included. Our Adventure Centre is by east beach and offers a range of paid activities including whale watching usually from November to May. See you soon...

Dear hotel staff or higher management of Resplendent Ceylon, With a sad heart I have to ask you whether messages like below (for this and another hotel of yours, I might also post it there) User: Anne H (TA Profile anneh5027) "Hi there, I would recommend Weligama over Mirissa as many resorts/hotels have been demolished due to recent events. However, Weligama is much safer and kid friendly to spend your holidays. I visited Sri Lanka just a few months back with my family and it was just amazing! During our stay one of the locations we visited was Weligama as we had heard many good reviews about the area. We opted to stay at this luxury beach resort called Cape Weligama where they warmly welcomed us in the true Sri Lankan way. We chose to stay at the Ocean Grand Villa which was overlooking the grand Indian Ocean with a large verandah. It was the perfect weather to take a walk along the golden costal of Weligama with the waves hitting your feet. This resort is perfect for a couple or even a family outing. You could check them out on: Hi there, If you are visiting Sri Lanka, Yala is a must go - to tourist destination to spot its exotic wildlife including elephants, leopards and polar bears. During our visit to Yala, we stayed at Wild Coast Tented Lodge run by Resplendent Ceylon hotels as we have got good recommendations on it. This is flawlessly located between the ocean and the jungle and is also very close to the wild animals! I can assure you it’s safe though. Their accommodations are luxury tented camps called ‘Cocoons’ & ‘Urchins’ which I think is a unique concept. While at our stay, the naturalist at the hotel took us around to educate us on the exotic animals that resided in the Yala National Park. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodated to all our needs. You could check them out on: Hope you found this useful!" are in any way linked to you. At least it is a fake tourist (she or he has posted this crappy selfpromotion numerous times over the last 1-2 years, every time with a different username and every time 3-4 Resplendent Ceylon properties). Or is it even an employee? Without a clear and strong distancing yourself from practices like these, which are against TA guidelines and constitute deceipt, I don't think any tourist should consider booking at Cape Weligama or another Resplendent Ceylon property. Tnx for your time, Erik - TA Destination Expert for Sri Lanka
Hi there Erik, I can understand your grievances against this possible fake review. It is unethical if this is the case and I hope TA can get to the bottom of it. I would however suggest readers disregard that review and listen to the many legitimate reviews such as my own. I did stay at Cape Welligama in September 18 - The staff were amazing, the location is fabulous and accommodation superb. I highly recommend it for anyone. I don't think because of one possible fake review all staff should be judged in the same light, they are lovely people.

How far is the hotel from Galle? And how long would it take to visit?
Hi, It took us about three quarters of an hour to get there as the traffic was quite heavy in the town itself. We would say it is certainly worth a visit. The fort is interesting and the shops are good. I got some good presents there. Hope that helps.
