Located at kyeikhteo pagoda which is famous for big rock seemingly in falling position situated at 3000feet sea level. Sunset view from top flat floor for visitors is panoramic. Layers of mountains cloud and sun rays are a good mix. Sun rise can be observed from breakfast bar. Sea of cloud and lemon sun is picturistic. Hot water was strong and quick. Air con and freig are well functioning on such a remote mountain. Can mix with various type of visitor. Can also visit world biggest sitting buddha.

Basic for 1 night. It was not really clean, but the room cathegory was superior for 90 $. The breakfast is asian basic. The location is excellent, de had a room with balcony, so it was nice, view to golden rock pagoda & the forested valley . But...-id the cleaning lady care about more , it would be better feeling.

Pros- 1) only 1 of 2 hotel at top of Golden Rock, so not much choice. 2) 3 mins walk to Golden rock 3) in the middle of shops and street foods Cons 1) Expensive consider the state of the rooms. But with only another competitor, seems like have no choice. 2) Rooms are dirty and small cockroaches and insects crawling in my Air Con bungalow room. My friend staying in deluxe building room even have small frog in his room. 3) Breakfast has nothing to shout about. Very simple and food choice is limited. 4) Bathroom, Choke and flooded in my bungalow room. Water is dirty 5) Finishing of the rooms is simply forgettable. 6) Fridge smell. If not for the horrendous 45 mins of taking the only mode of transportation up to the mountain, we would rather not stay up there, as the best time to visit Golden Rock is during 5.30pm in the evening. After the visit, you will most likely appreciate the horrible room than to take another ride back down the mountain. ( Another 45 minutes of high speed roller coaster ride ) However, the scenery at Golden Rock is fantastic and air is wonderful, especially during the sun set. And the restaurant just directly opposite the hotel entrance( But dun belong to the hotel ) is good, which is a saviour to our stay at the hotel.

My travel agency chose this hotel for my only 1 night stay in superior room. Overall, I am quite satisfield with the hotel except a very basic room. I had to walk across the hotel to the restaurant to have breakfast and dinner. What I like about this hotel: 1. The location is strategic and it is about 7 minutes walk to Golden Rock 2. Reasonable buffet breakfast and dinner for Asian. I was a bit sceptical when read the review from other guests before about cold and not delicious food. However, I like the food actually. 3. Outside of the hotel is a very happening area as early morning I could see people selling stuff and monks walking around receiving food.. 4. The restaurant is big and has plenty of seats for hotel guests. 5. Kettle to boil water provided in the room. 6. I could go up to the roof of one building to have better view from the top on the main road. Disadvantage of this hotel 1. No air conditioning but there is fan box on the floor. Hence, it is a bit difficult for the fan to blow 2 people in twin sharing. It could be this hotel located in highland and it's actually cold at night outside. Hence, air conditioning is not provided. 2. No hair dryer in the room. 3. Room furnishing is very basic. Do not expect it is decorated nicely. 4. No wifi in the room. Need to walk to the reception lobby to receive wifi signal. Despite the above weakness, I do not mind staying in this hotel for one night.

The best thing about this hotel is its wonderful location - close to the Golden Rock and even closer to the route everyone takes to get there. The rooms were simple and clean and we had hot water for showers. The staff was friendly. The down side was the food which was not tasty, to say the least.

Pros: Friendly helpful staff, Reasonable water pressure for hot or cold shower, clean bathroom and toilet, basic amenities provided, clean sheets, clean towel, peaceful, good aircon. Possible improvements: WiFi signal and speed, images with restaurant menu, restricted check in time due to mountain closure past 6pm. You make your own decision on price, but fair relative to other competitors that can accept foreigners on mountain.

When we checked in, half of the light bulbs were burnt out and one was even missing. The bathroom is particularly ugly. It is dirty, the sink only had cold water from a faucet in disrepair and the drain would not stay open. A/C was poor. There were bugs in the room. TV only had local channels. WIFI was not working. If this was a $20 room, one could be somewhat understanding, but this was a $100 room. In Myanmar that should give you a 5 star room. There is a lack of supply on top of the mountain and it looks like this hotel is taking advantage of it. There is plenty of staff at the front, but it seems as no one does maintenance and housekeeping us poor. Looks like they are building some new rooms. Hopefully they will pay more attention to maintenance. Also, breakfast was poor.

We stayed in the "Super Deluxe" room which was recently built or renovated. The room was modern looking and was comfortable. The bathroom had all new fixtures but the water drainage for the shower was oddly designed. The water will flow out from the glass shower enclosure and then flow or flood pretty much the whole bathroom before it drains down an outlet underneath the sink! The lobby was nondescript and the other rooms or bungalow which some members of our group stayed at were not very pleasant. The breakfast was served in a building across the street from the hotel and was OK! Don't expect much but this is probably the best accommodation, the super deluxe rooms, in the area.
