Hotel La Croix (pronounced “La-Croy”) is a 192 room boutique hotel offering uncompromising value through a soothing and connected experience that will bring light to your spirit and soul.
Experience the best of both worlds, with both palm-tree filled parks and Luxury Row shops and dining both within your reach. La Croix, means “The Cross” (crossroads) in French. It's a fitting name, given that it prominently sits at the gateway of Waikiki on Kalakaua and Kuhio, the two main streets of Waikiki. Take in unobstructed ocean views, with the lapping waves just a short walk away.
The iconic words inscribed at the bottom of our photo-ready pool offer up our goals are for our guests: to experience the Island’s love + aloha.
We've put meticulous care into allowing our guests to connect with Hawaii during their stay. As you walk along the floors in your room, feel a sense of connection to the locally sourced hardwoods beneath your feet. Along the walls, too, we have routed solid wood piece by piece, just as Hawaiian royalty did at their beach houses over 100 years ago. As you sit on furniture refinished by local craftsmen, take in ocean views from your oversized lanai surrounded by real plants.
At Hotel La Croix, we are grateful of the opportunity to be the stewards of a landmark Property. Our goals are to serve and enrich the experience of our guests from all over the world with our love + aloha.
I would like to preface this by saying that I take 0 joy in leaving a negative review of a business. It’s just not my style. But this hotel…this hotel warrants it. My husband and I booked this place for our recent honeymoon. I grew up in Hawaii and he’s never been so I was really excited to show him around. I wouldn’t normally opt for Waikiki but thought it would save renting a car for a couple of days while still allowing us easy access to exploring. Hotel La Croix LOOKS charming on all the travel sites. So much so that you think you’re really getting a deal. And then they have really good reviews (which I honestly think are all paid because I don’t know anyone in their right mind who would rate this place highly). What you won’t know until you arrive is that they have used only photos of their penthouse suites in their listings. The regular rooms look nothing like those photos. I know that many websites use photos of nice rooms for listings but this stretches so far beyond that. When we arrived we went to the very strange, messy check in area that just has laptops out everywhere. The woman who checked us in was honestly lovely and welcoming. We went to our room and as soon as we walked in were hit with a strong chemical odor. After a couple of minutes, we realized that chemical odor was likely an attempt to cover the strong stench of urine that soon wafted into our noses. I am not usually a room switcher. I did try to put up with this room. But after leaving for dinner and coming back, I couldn’t take the smell. We had to switch rooms. The nice check in lady worked something out and thoughtfully left us a bottle of moscato & two plastic flutes since it was our honeymoon. While that was a very sweet touch, it didn’t make up for how gross our new room was. The floor were so dirty they turned your feet black. The shower had mold in it. The sink faucet moved all around. The toilet paper holder and towels hooks were falling off the walls. The bed had no headboard and tiny pillows. There’s no phone in the room, no coffee maker or kettle, and the plastic cups aren’t even wrapped. By the way, if you’d like any sort of housekeeping, you’ll need to TEXT THEM 24 hours in advance. Have a problem? Can’t phone the front desk, my friend. That’s a text too. Honestly this just screams unprofessional to me. After one night in this property, I broke out into a full body rash. I had to teledoc with my doctor back home. My rash persisted for our entire stay and actually for the rest of my honeymoon even after we left. My doctor said it could’ve been the sheets, towels, etc. We booked through Priceline and they absolutely did not care how atrocious this property was. They wouldn’t refund us. They wouldn’t move us to another property. Nothing. Please be aware that this place is deceptive in all of its listings. Unless you’re staying in the penthouse suites, you are getting a dirty room that may leave you with a hideous rash. …
I stayed in a penthouse suite and wow! Perfect, unobstructed view of Waikiki beach and the ocean since there’s a park right in front. The front desk staff are great and ESPECIALLY the turn down service from Mhila! Thank you for your kindness and attention! You replenished my room with anything I needed with a smile and warn tone. Thanks! Will come back anytime!
Wifi is extremely subpar. Two different networks to connect to and wasn’t able to either find network or browse when connected for most of my trip. Pillows in bronze room are not full pillows. Not sure if this is the case for all rooms. There are five on bed but the size of throw pillows. Have not encountered this anywhere but others can make up their minds on whether or not this is notable Cleaning must be requested 24h in advanced Weight section of gym is only suitable for one person to either lift weights or stretch. Open from 6am-10pm. Two ellipticals and treadmills in a separated space
Precious Lyn M is very professional, accommodating and very attentive to the customers, especially me during my stay at LaCroix. Her professionalism is exceptional, which makes her a real asset to your company. Not only she's charming , she's also very knowledgeable of her job. I will surely stay here again in the future.
We had reserved a terrace suite, but upon arrival were "upgraded" to a penthouse suite. The view was amazing. Truly amazing. Facing the ocean, overlooking a park, floor to ceiling windows. Fabulous location. However, here are the not-so-great features of the hotel: 1) Only 1 of 3 elevators goes to parking level, so you must often change elevators once you get to lobby. No assistance with luggage. 2) They advertise a no-phone, text only front desk. Well, that sounds wonderful, should they read/answer the texts. We arrived quite late at night and once upstairs and in our room requested extra blanket. It arrived perhaps 4 hours later with an apology text. Next time we texted for something - same response. 3) There is a 5th floor pool with "bar" and two "hot tubs". The bar is extremely limited and rarely staffed. It is a small pool, but again - great view. The "hot tubs" were never warm - same temp as pool. 4) The Monkey Pod Lounge is available to certain suites and penthouse suites. Don't be fooled. It is not open until 8 am which is really too late for most travellers/business people who want coffee. There is a VERY limited breakfast - more of a snack - nothing hot. And nothing else the rest of the day. Definitely not the hotel suite lounges you might expect. 5) The room is sparsely decorated, which is fine, but also sparsely stocked with amenities. No towel hooks or place for cosmetics in bathroom; very little space in bathroom and incredibly hot. The blinds in the bathroom are not light-limiting and again, all glass, leaving a very, very hot room, which the A/C unit did not help. So, there is much to enjoy here, but it almost seems more like an upscale hostel than upscale hotel. …
Everyone from valet to front desk was just fantastic. Major shout out to Bea, I came in with my little kiddos and upon check in I was told I was upgraded to the penthouse! needless to say my kids enjoyed every bit of it. Thank you Megan and the rest of the staff for answering all my answers through text. Next time you visit, be sure to book Hotel LaCroix!!!
This hotel was awesome to stay in, the hotel room was very clean and in a great location to experience an incredible vacation in Hawaii. The best part about this hotel was its very friendly and helpful staff, especially Vincent from the pool! He was so awesome!! He gave us all the best recommendations and made this trip so memorable and fun. It wouldn’t have been the same vacation without him. We had such an incredible experience at this hotel and Hawaii and hope to be back as soon as possible! Thank you so much Vincent and the rest of the hotel staff. We will definitely be staying here again!
Hotel LaCroix definitely love the name very different. Definitely in a good location. No more than a few minute walk to the beach. I was one of many from a big group. We had our birthdays/weddings. The room that my husband and I was staying at was 914 which was a corner room very roomy. Have to say the hospitality is amazing Renee was able to help my husband and I get an extra chair for our room. Along with her amazing smile, kindness guiding us to this amazing place called the Cracklin. First arrive to a room. There was a slight paint smell, but Renee was able to go ahead and assure us the paint smell wasn’t from my room. It was just a touchup from the hallways. All the staff are amazing the housekeeper make sure our room was clean with fresh towels and amenities. All in all it’s definitely a good place to stay. Again, thank you to all the staff for amazing day and lovely hospitality.…
The stay at this hotel has been the best time of my life! I wanted to stay for a week and extended two times, because everything has just been more than perfect! I stayed in different rooms and each of them was beautiful, clean and cozy (big thanks to Renee). But the best part is the staff. I met Vincent at the pool and he is simply incredible. Whether you like a good Mai Tai, jokes till you cry or simply very good recommendations for hikes, restaurants or bars - he’ll help you out! He actually made me extend, so big thanks for that! Same applies for everyone at the reception, whether you need extra amenities, information about the area or just a cup of tea in the middle of the night when you feel sick - they got you! I wish I could extend even longer, but thank you for the best vacation of my life :)…
Friendly staff (especially Bea) and good utilities. Ex: pool, small kitchen (would recommend waikiki market if you want affordable, okay-priced food), ABC store at 1st level. Front desk friends will give you lots of great tips if you just ask.. Great location, walkable to lots of places. Parking is relatively easy to pull into.
