We had an amazing time! Yes the AC chiller busted while we were there. Yes the room was around 80 degrees for 1.5 days. Was there anything the hotel could do no. So we continued on and enjoyed our vacation. I used the chat feature in the Marriott app and they answered my questions promptly. There was an amazing breeze on the patio, so we opened the door all day and spent the days doing activities off the resort, pool and beach. I think a lot of people were thrown off by the lines and waiting you needed to do in Hawaii. It wasn’t just this hotel it was everywhere. However, with just a little research ahead of your trip this would have been known. I came into this trip knowing I would be waiting in lines for food/services. You just need to plan ahead or adjust when things happen. NOTE: Please be kind to the staff and management. The island is at pre-pandemic amounts of tourists and staffing is not yet there to meet that. They are trying their best, remember they are human too. TIPS: 1. Book activities/dinner reservations ahead, like a month at least. Most popular attractions are totally booked once you get there. Restaurants too. 2. If you didn’t book restaurant reservations ahead ( this is the one thing I didn’t plan) you can try and get one, we got lucky a couple times. Or do what we did most days, order takeout and eat it in the hotel lobby/pool area/beach/room ect. 3. Have your QR code and ID ready. Have patients at check in the lines are long. 4. Try to rent a car, even just for the day, and drive the island. It’s beautiful! 5. Go to the ABC stores. There are tons of them. They have everything you need. Supplies, food, &drinks. 6. Take a breath, go with the flow, don’t expect everything to go perfect.…
NO AC for this hotel. We couldn’t stand the 81F heat for 2 days in a row. I called front desk and they couldn’t do anything about it. This was our honeymoon too; what a mess! Our trip was ruined! I don’t recommend anyone coming here for any occasion. The check-in process took about 1.5 hours and there’s a severe staff shortage. There were often lines to elevators and they were not even property ventilated.
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! AC has been out for 3 nights and counting now. This place needs fixed in many, many ways. Management is hiding and lying - avoiding all the problems. Everytime I call to get an update on when the AC would be fixed, I get a different answer. Called to speak with manager and they would never pick up. They told me manger was at front desk talking to guests so I should just come down and talk to them. I went down and was told the manager had “just left”. I would not recommend to stay here - it’s also way too overcrowded. Always lines to check in / complain at the front desk. Elevator broke last night. Endless issues. Trust me and stay somewhere else!
The issue with the A/C has completely ruined our trip. The hotel issued letters sharing the problem has been corrected but that wasn’t true after we called down to confirm. The hotel needs to properly communicate and get this issue rectified immediately. I’d never pay this sort of money again...what a joke.
This hotel is beautiful but I can't handle the no AC any longer. It's day 3 and my room is over 80 degrees. The part I am most frustrated about is everytime I ask the front desk for ETA on repairs I'm told it's fixed and the hotel is slowly cooling down. We are on the 26th floor and there is zero AC. We aren't sleeping and getting cranky.
