This location behind the Hyatt Regency places you 2 minutes from the beach and less than a minute to the bus stop.Having a full kitchen and large Lanai/balcony is a bonus compared to all of the other hotels. This is an older hotel tthat needs updating but everything works including a brand new elevator that is fast. The pool is clean and surronded by palm trees - lovely setting. The curtains do not block the light so plan on waking earlier. Don't expect the Hyatt at Motel 6 prices. The Wednesday night talent show with Hawaiian and tradtional songs, dancing, hula, and a family friendly atmosphere is a welcome return after COVID. There are a few hoboes that occassionally are on the sidewalk near the hotel. Sometimes the smell of people smoking "Skunk" is outside. Bums and Skunk smoking appear to be an increasing problem on Waikiki. Be prepared for all of the crowds and noise in the area. So many tourists now and loud cars and motorcycles.…

Hotel's Favourite
This is a budget hotel with vintage charm. Great location 2 blocks from the beach. We were satisfied with our stay and I would stay here again. If you are picky then find another upscale property that will cost a lot more. I am budget-minded and did not care that the property is old. The beds are comfortable. The air conditioner kept the room cool and drowned out the street noise.

The Royal Grove Waikiki has the word Royal in its name, the building is pink, and it is located in Waikiki, therefore it can be compared to the Royal Hawaiian. The Royal Grove hotel is quite inexpensive.

Excellent and affordable. I would rate it better than it is on Hotels.com. You have everything you need: spacious apartment, all necessary appliances, close to the beach, good for morning walks, good seafood near-by.

Just felt like home away from home since I was on my own love the pool I have already recommended your hotel to friends & family. This was my second stay at Royal Grove hotel I only wish there were room for a small restaurant or bar but doesn’t matter as there are so many in the area to choose from

The location was perfect and convenient to everything that we needed. The staff excellent. Bonus was the evening entertainment on Wednesday. It felt like ohana. Appreciated it very much. Another bonus was no resort/amenity fee as we did not need any. The hotel is dated but all the good things about this hotel trumped that.

We stayed at the Royal Grove Waikiki for a week in February 2023. First time. Positive: Courteous and helpful staff. Exceptional location. Its an older hotel, so the rooms are dated and worn. It was clean and made our stay in Waikiki affordable. There are many stores within 5 minutes walking distance. Great restaurants very close by.

This hotel is best value for everything. Older retro vibe. Close to anything you want, beach, bus, food, shopping. Grab a coffee and walk 2 minutes to sunrise. Hit beach early and then pool for something calm. Walk to everything you need. Bus to anywhere on the corner. If you want to pay for hotel decor you don't need go somewhere else. Around 4am someone opened our room door! Thank goodness i had locked the chain! We checked out that day (a day early) and let the lady know at front desk what had happened and her only response was " well i cant check you out until tomorrow" Yep, won't be back!

Staff are so nice. The pool area needs maintenance. Room was clean and looks like new sofa sleeper. I wish they would provide sm bottle of dishsoap and dish towels. Air conditioning in my room updated. Bed and pillows were comfortable.
