The Imperial Hawaii Resort offers a prime location that guests rave about, being conveniently situated near the beach and Waikiki's attractions. The hotel's cleanliness is widely appreciated, although some guests suggest certain areas could benefit from an update. While the rooms are praised for their tidiness, reviewers note that they may feel outdated and could impact comfort. The hotel's amenities, including the rooftop pool, are a highlight for many, yet opinions on the overall value are divided, with some guests finding the pricing reasonable and others questioning the cost given the need for modernization. Service at the resort generally receives high marks for the staff's friendliness and helpfulness.

After much research I decided to stay at the Imperial on a DVC RCI trade. One of the main selling points is its location across the street from the Waikiki Beach Walk and around the corner from the Royal Hawaiian Center shops. There isn’t anything that one can want that can’t be found within a couple of blocks of the hotel. There’s also a Denny’s downstairs and an ABC Store outside the lobby where you can get all your food, souvenir, and grocery needs. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. Due to Covid, midweek housekeeping services were suspended; however, getting additional bath towels, etc. was as easy as calling the front desk or going to housekeeping. The Banyan Suite where I stayed had everything I needed, but the bathroom was small for a one bedroom that sleeps six people and the step up into the tub is high for short people. You will need to be careful while taking a shower as the tub floor can be slippery when wet. It would be helpful if housekeeping provided a rubber bath mat for the inside of the tub to decrease the risk of falling. All in all, I enjoyed my stay and can’t wait to return.

Though the area has changed, this was a large part of my living in Waikiki 1987-92. I enjoyed the valet parking by calling in advance $100 weekly fee was the best value. Waikiki streets can be confusing so please be careful. The staff was warm and friendly. the 27th floor view and pool were very nice. Righfully so the pool was closed several days with high winds. The nearby Friday night fireworks were viewed with many others on the 26th floor. New Jaquzzis on the third floor were a welcome find! Live Hawaiian music nearby 7 nights a week at the Kani Kapila bar with tasty nightly local food. specials. the Blue note and other music venues are with in walking distance.

Although the staff was friendly and nice at this hotel, we didn't feel we got our money's worth. But perhaps you can't get much anywhere in Oahu. The rooms, beds, bathrooms and living spaces were incredibly small. My husband and I could not fit together comfortably on the "queen" size bed, and this is after we paid add'l money to upgrade from the studio. The location of the hotel is near the beach, but is behind and surrounded by huge resorts, so you have to walk sideways to get to a beach, and then you have to walk much further to get to beach without lots of rocks in the water. Our microwave had one working button. The hot tubs had 1 strong jet each. There is a great view from the Owner's Lounge on the 26th floor. The pool was nice. I don't want to carry dirty towels to the 3rd floor to get clean ones, especially since we still have to pay the "fees". This place was good in a pinch if you need a place. But I feel we are not getting our timeshare value.

This resort is showing its age and is probably not worth fixing as it would cost way too much. Its only plus is its location 5 minutes from the beach. Just note that the beach is sandy until you get into the water where there are pieces of sharp coral rock and large slippery stones. We tried out the roof-top pool, but when the wind comes up you can feel the building move so we did not feel safe. Stay away from the lobby stores, which are over-priced and the saleswoman in the clothing store was really pushy. We just wanted to look and she talked us right out of the store.

Aloha Tracy! Mahalo for taking the time to write a review. We are a legacy property and one of the first timeshare resorts in Waikiki, and we are always striving to make upgrades and improvements at our resort. We just finished a total kitchen remodel of our rooms with new cabinets, counter tops and appliances. We also replaced the cabinets and counter tops in the bathrooms. Thank you for the compliment on our staff. Many of our Imperial Ohana have worked here for many years. We think they are pretty nice too! We welcome you to come back and stay with us again in the future. Stay safe and we wish you health and happiness!

Booked one bedroom and 2 bathrooms. The balcony of our living room faces a wall and that's good because it gives you privacy. At the same time, there is no view. There was a buzz from the exhaust of the next building but closing the balcony door helped.
There were plenty of towels for our comfort. The housekeeping was great.
There was always a wait for the lifts as the building is high. The sunset happy hour was totally worth it. Definitely visit the rooftop bar for amazing views.
The hotel is walk able from the beach and a lot of other points of interest. It was easy to find a cab/Uber. There is an ABC store right below the hotel. I wish there were more pots and pans in the kitchenette.
There is no laundry in the room but you can hire dryer and laundry on level 2/3. They also sell detergent. The facilities were not crowded. Unless you want something fancy and plan to be in your room most of the time, this hotel is perfect.

We did a last minute trip and booked through our timeshare company RCI. We originally booked a studio but when we arrived I asked if possible to upgrade to a 1 bedroom and they were able to accommodate without a charge. The room was clean and comfortable. The bedroom is very small but was nice to not have to sleep on a murphy bed. We spent a lot of time on the patio which was awesome to have.

The staff was amazing. Everyone we encountered was extremely nice and helpful. There is no public parking and you need to valet but the valet was quick and efficient with little to no wait every time. There is an ABC store downstairs to grab snacks and drinks to keep in your room fridge.

The beach is a short 5 minute walk away. Most everything is within walking distance from the hotel.

The location was perfect, close to shopping centre, beach, and restaurants. Additional bonus was the ABC store downstairs.
Front desk staff were kind and very informative. They only clean rooms on your 4th day! You will have to go on the third floor if you need towels or toiletries. I went on our second day to replace beach towels and the staff there do not smile unless you give them tip. Our coffee maker was not working on our first day, we called the front desk and they sent a replacement within 15 minutes. The hotel should not charge a resort fee if these kind of service continues. I understand due to covid and all but this takes away from customers experience.
All in all we have a pleasant stay and do not want to leave Hawaii. My kids were on the beach surfing almost everyday.

Our family have just returned home after spending 5 nights here after our 5 week trip to the USA.

The staff are all so welcoming and helpful. From the front desk staff to the valets and housekeeping everyone was so friendly. We were given a room on the 23rd floor and it had the most amazing view of the ocean !! We had a 1 bed 2 bath room which had a King bed as well as a queen sofa bed in the lounge room We paid an extra $10 a night to get a rollaway so the kids wouldn’t have to share.

We hired a car for a couple of days but they have a concierge who can arrange tours. They also have daily activities in the owners lounge including lei making and ukulele lessons. You can rent beach chairs for about $3 a day, free pool/beach towels to use and a great self serve laundry. Plus the rooftop pool.

We found it extremely quiet at night even though you are surrounded by plenty of restaurants and cafes. The beach is a short walk away.

We can’t wait to return to Hawaii and will definitely stay at the Imperial again.

We were going to Hawaii for the first time. Hotel prices were pricey. The Imperial Hawaii Resort has the most reasonable rate for the area where it is located. Waikiki beach, all the shopping malls, tour pick up points, Kuhio beach are all within walking distance. There is an ABC store adjacent to the entrance for takeaway food. There are various restaurants for eating options near the hotel. The room is not large. The bed is a pull down. There is a small kitchen. A resort fee is charge, so better use the hot tub or gym. We would book here again given the chance.

Aloha, We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and our great neighborhood, steps from the beach, and the Waikiki Beach Walk. We have 5 different suite types that range from a one-room studio with that pull-down Murphy bed up to a large 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite with a full kitchen. There are many options! We would love for you to come and stay with us again. Mahalo for taking the time to leave a review.

The staff and valet drivers were very helpful and friendly. The location is great for easy access to shops and restaurants if that's all you want.

If you get assigned to room 1002, ask to be moved. The room does not resemble the schematic drawing. I suspect we were assigned the room because there were just the 2 of us. There is no way six people would fit in that room.
1. The bed is NOT a queen bed as advertised, it's a double bed. A queen bed would not fit in the poorly designed room. A night stand would fit on only one side of the bed because a night stand would not fit on the other side. We ended up moving a chair to the other side.
We got to know the maintenance staff well (again, very nice people), because:
2. The microwave didn't work and after they determined that the timer and convection oven were faulty, they had to bring a replacement microwave.
3. Then the battery for the safe needed to be replaced. We ended up waiting around for about an hour to get everything fixed before leaving.
4. The bathtub was not installed properly and the bottom felt very soft and spongy. There is nothing satisfying about taking a shower sans terra firma.
5. Room 1002 is also located above the AC units from the other nearby buildings, so there's a constant hum. Also, all you see out the window at this level are other buildings and the public parking lot; no wonder the staff suggested the Owner's Lounge on the 26th floor.

I don't know if we were assigned such an inferior suite because we were owners and not full-fare customers, but our Banyan suite did not at all resemble the schematic. I suspect 1102 and #02 and##02 rooms will be similar. The upper level rooms may be quieter.

When we went there wasn’t a hotel transfer service. We ended up taking a limo to and from the airport. The limo was $70 each way. There were four of us so that wasn’t too bad. Not sure about the transportation to Diamond Head
