There were plenty of towels for our comfort. The housekeeping was great.
There was always a wait for the lifts as the building is high. The sunset happy hour was totally worth it. Definitely visit the rooftop bar for amazing views.
The hotel is walk able from the beach and a lot of other points of interest. It was easy to find a cab/Uber. There is an ABC store right below the hotel. I wish there were more pots and pans in the kitchenette.
There is no laundry in the room but you can hire dryer and laundry on level 2/3. They also sell detergent. The facilities were not crowded. Unless you want something fancy and plan to be in your room most of the time, this hotel is perfect.
The staff was amazing. Everyone we encountered was extremely nice and helpful. There is no public parking and you need to valet but the valet was quick and efficient with little to no wait every time. There is an ABC store downstairs to grab snacks and drinks to keep in your room fridge.
The beach is a short 5 minute walk away. Most everything is within walking distance from the hotel.
Front desk staff were kind and very informative. They only clean rooms on your 4th day! You will have to go on the third floor if you need towels or toiletries. I went on our second day to replace beach towels and the staff there do not smile unless you give them tip. Our coffee maker was not working on our first day, we called the front desk and they sent a replacement within 15 minutes. The hotel should not charge a resort fee if these kind of service continues. I understand due to covid and all but this takes away from customers experience.
All in all we have a pleasant stay and do not want to leave Hawaii. My kids were on the beach surfing almost everyday.
The staff are all so welcoming and helpful. From the front desk staff to the valets and housekeeping everyone was so friendly. We were given a room on the 23rd floor and it had the most amazing view of the ocean !! We had a 1 bed 2 bath room which had a King bed as well as a queen sofa bed in the lounge room We paid an extra $10 a night to get a rollaway so the kids wouldn’t have to share.
We hired a car for a couple of days but they have a concierge who can arrange tours. They also have daily activities in the owners lounge including lei making and ukulele lessons. You can rent beach chairs for about $3 a day, free pool/beach towels to use and a great self serve laundry. Plus the rooftop pool.
We found it extremely quiet at night even though you are surrounded by plenty of restaurants and cafes. The beach is a short walk away.
We can’t wait to return to Hawaii and will definitely stay at the Imperial again.
If you get assigned to room 1002, ask to be moved. The room does not resemble the schematic drawing. I suspect we were assigned the room because there were just the 2 of us. There is no way six people would fit in that room.
1. The bed is NOT a queen bed as advertised, it's a double bed. A queen bed would not fit in the poorly designed room. A night stand would fit on only one side of the bed because a night stand would not fit on the other side. We ended up moving a chair to the other side.
We got to know the maintenance staff well (again, very nice people), because:
2. The microwave didn't work and after they determined that the timer and convection oven were faulty, they had to bring a replacement microwave.
3. Then the battery for the safe needed to be replaced. We ended up waiting around for about an hour to get everything fixed before leaving.
4. The bathtub was not installed properly and the bottom felt very soft and spongy. There is nothing satisfying about taking a shower sans terra firma.
5. Room 1002 is also located above the AC units from the other nearby buildings, so there's a constant hum. Also, all you see out the window at this level are other buildings and the public parking lot; no wonder the staff suggested the Owner's Lounge on the 26th floor.
I don't know if we were assigned such an inferior suite because we were owners and not full-fare customers, but our Banyan suite did not at all resemble the schematic. I suspect 1102 and #02 and##02 rooms will be similar. The upper level rooms may be quieter.
"Due to the exchange rate and kitchen this was ideal for us, my opinion, you only sleep in a room why pay loads ? "Read full review
