Good location, clean, well-maintained, close to the Hawaiian Village, Fort DeRussy, Ala Moana Center. Moderately priced, especially for Honolulu. Also much quieter than the heart of Waikiki would be, and not more than a five-minute walk to beaches and shops.
This hotel was average, nothing fancy and that's all we needed and expected. Rooms were clean and all the staff was friendly. We were able to check in a bit early and they held our luggage in a locked room until we were able to check in/out. Small coffee maker, microwave, safe and fridge and blow dryer in the room. Decent price for location
I like this hotel and always stay here. The price is reasonable. It's a nice walk to Ala Moana beach and some good local places to eat. The local bus stops are really close. ABC store right across the street. Has a room safe which is a plus. I kinda thought the pool was heated but it was a bit cold this time. That's why I gave 4 Stars instead of 5. The staff is really nice too.
The hotel is older but well kept up. Rooms are large with plenty of dressers for storage. The safe is large and easy to use. Nice bathroom with Paul Mitchel shampoo and conditioners . The commode is too low and a higher one would be a plus.
First off, know that this Ramada is a bit higher quality than what you might expect of a Ramada on the mainland. Compared to other hotels in the Waikiki area, however, it is not as big and fancy; it simply provides the basics and does it well. Here are the features I liked: 1) check-in was relatively quick and efficient. The woman who checked me in wasn't particularly warm but did her job efficiently. AND she got me a room that met my requests - on a higher floor and in a quiet area. She got me one on the 12th floor and at the end of the hallway. I was very happy with my room. 2) Super-comfortable bed & pillows. I have a bad back. And I slept like a baby in this bed. 3) Quiet! The walls here are thick enough that you don't hear your neighbors' conversations or TV. 4) AC unit worked perfectly. Temperature-controlled wall unit. To me, it was not too noisy, and I'm a pretty sensitive sleeper. 5) Good internet connectivity. I was here on business, and it worked fine for answering my work emails. 6) Everything clean. Nice clean & relatively thick towels in the bathroom. My only minor complaint was - stains on the chair, and a small amount of sand on the carpet near the bathroom. 7) In-room microwave, fridge, individual coffee maker, and safe. All worked well, except some of the numeral buttons on the safe (so I had to choose a code with the numbers that worked). 8) Parking available on site, but limited number of spaces. I was able to secure a parking spot every day, but I made sure to return to the hotel shortly after dinner. (There is overflow parking at another site; I can't comment on it.) Some of the cons are - No restaurant onsite. But there are many nearby. Plus, the really big Hilton hotel is across the street, so plenty of choices there. (I recommend checking it out. It really is like a village if you haven't been there. My personal feeling is that it's nice to be able to visit but not actually stay there so that you don't have to deal with the crowds! Also easy walk to the Hilton hotel's stretch of beach.) Parking is limited and some spaces are tight; I couldn't even maneuver into some of the spaces. There is a small convenience store onsite, but it's really really small, the size of a closet. You can get a cold beverage there in a pinch. It was more worthwhile for me to walk 5 minutes to the nearest ABC store and get everything I needed there. For the value and the relative peace & quiet, I recommend this hotel. I will definitely be returning.…
I booked a room for my daughter at the Ramada in Angola, Michigan....and when she arrived with her three young kids, the 2 pm check-in became a 5 pm check-in due to staff shortages. That can be forgiven I suppose although they should have called to alert her to this...the rude front desk person has no excuse. I was very pleasant and polite on the phone with her asking for help ( snack voucher, later check-out, wanting to speak to a manager) but she said none of that could be done and at the end of our conversation I said goodbye and she hung up on me! When I called back to see if they were in their room she said " Yah, they are in".... and click... she hung up on me again! That is inexcusable! I was the one who should be annoyed, not her! When is it ever ok for someone in customer service to hang up on a polite paying customer! We all have stressful jobs! That is no excuse! My daughter said the pool and arcade were crowded and unpleasant.…
Nice hotel and location was ok. The hotel is across the street from Hilton and its shops and eating establishments. There is limited on site parking but auxiliary site was available. Staff was very friendly.
Rooms were outdated. Carpet was stained.room had a real bad musty smell. Air conditioner was set at 60. And still warm in the room. Overpriced for what you get. Would not stay again.also got very noisey at times
Staff was welcoming, professional and efficient. Have stayed here many times before. Hotel is within walking distance to the beach. Hotel is well maintained. WiFi was a little slow but us stable and usable. Occasionally there is some street noise, but it is in a city. I will come back again.
Our stay was pleasant. We found our room clean and they have a laundry facility on the property, staff was friendly, the location was great and staff was friendly, and parking fee was reasonable. Would definitely stay here again!
