My wife and I stayed in this condo for three weeks. Although we have stayed in other condos in this complex, this was our first time to stay in # 202. Judith, the owner had contacted me at home to give me the information required to access the condo. It has a beautifully decorated living area, with a two seat and three seat sofas, a glass top table, large screen cable television and internet. A well stocked kitchen with a large fridge freezer, microwave and four ring cooker with an oven gives plenty of scope for cooking. There are ample saucepans, crockery, glasses and cuttlery in the spacious cupboards. A coffee pot also adorns the kitchen worktop. The kitchen appears to have been recently renovated, and is really beautiful. All cleaning products are also stored in the cupboards. The bedroom is spacious and has an overhead ceiling fan. The bedroom can be closed off from the living area by means of a sliding wooden door. There is plenty of space for clothes and luggage in a large walled wardrobe with mirrored sliding doors. The back wall of the bedroom is completely glass with a sliding door which leads onto the lanai consisting of a table and two chairs. There is a bamboo privacy screen to block off the next building. The bathroom is bright and clean and consists of a toilet, wash hand basin and a powerful shower. Between the bathroom and kitchen is a small dressing area with a multi drawer dressing table. Within the complex there is a swimming pool, gas BBQ, laundryroom and small library, all for the use of anyone using the condos. Summing up, this is a beautiful presented condo. Decorated beautifully, and very comfortable. A big thank you to Judith for offering us the use of your beautiful condo. It was a home from home. My wife and I will certainly be returning next year. Enjoy the photos. Mahalo.

Reservation for our family of 5 to stay for 10 nights from just before Christmas 2018 through the after New Years. Place was quiet and comfortable. Staff considerate though check in times a bit inconvenient so able to have family member check in and get keys for us due to later plane arrival. Nice to have laundry on site though on the rainy day I did laundry the 2 large tables in the laundry room were soaking wet with water dripping in through tarp covering. The location was decent so we could walk to the beach, restaurants and shopping. If they actually spent the 3 hours cleaning prior to our arrival I would be amazed. Luckily I did not have small children as walking barefoot on the floor upon arrival was disgusting. Sand and dirt everywhere, easily swept up but we had just arrived! Also had to wash the dishes before use as food crusted on them, assume from prior guests. Found a dirty pan in the oven upon first use also. The proximity of the downstairs bar was interesting. Though not noisy did not feel comfortable walking past alone as heavy smoking of both cigarettes and marijuana, people on the sidewalk that you had to walk through to get to in and out in the evenings. Having a balcony was nice, we ate many of our meals outside but don't look down as looked like a trash dump on the ground floor. The price was great, parking available for an extra fee but a few blocks away.

Hawaiian King 506 was a dirty run down apartment with many technical faults that was not in a state to receive guests. Support from the owners in rectifying some of the problems was non-existent, they were either doing other things or having days off. Some of the issues: The place had not been rented for some time and had not been cleaned or checked out prior to our arrival (as evident and admitted by the agent who delivered the key). The place was covered in black soot that had entered through a large louvered bathroom window which can't be closed. As the bathroom door was open this black soot had spread throughout the place. The wire screens over the bathroom windows were caked in the same black soot. The toilet was a most offensive yellow colour The fridge is not only old and rusty but was found full of mould on the sides and the sealing rubber. Cockroaches were seen running around, while the kitchen sink leaks like a sieve with water throughout the kitchen area. Half the lights did not work while there was no TV cable or VHF, although cable TV came for 2 days over the weekend then went off again. The Wifi name and password were not as in the Information book nor did the owner know what name and password should be, the response being "maybe they were changed". The place boasted two balconies (lanis) but they are so filthy that using them was out of the question, in any case the door to one of them is jammed so tight that opening it would require a battering ram. We cleaned the place ourselves but with so little cleaning equipment had to buy our own. The curtains are flimsy, stained and torn and do not darken the room even at night with the street lights. Apart from seeing the agent when he brought the key some 8 hours after our arrival (they were busy and had to locate the keys) we never saw anybody else despite calling and emailing them. THIS IS NO WAY TO RUN A HOSPITALITY BUSINESS, MY ADVICE STEER CLEAR FROM THIS PLACE

Stayed in unit 512 Sept 5-9, 2017. Entrance way looks a little "seedy" and gets more so as the locals visit the bar in the front until closing time,. However, once beyond and into the controlled entrance of the Condominium itself, it is an oasis. It has a lovely pool and BBQ area, nestled between both sides of the building. Nice touches with Tiki statue and torches and glowing red lights at night. Great quiet place to unwind or have a meal. Our particular unit was very clean, nicely decorated and outfitted with everything you could need; soaps, shampoo, towels, pool towels, beach floats and chairs and even some coffee. The bed was very comfortable and it was very quiet at night. The best part of this place is the location. Its a block from a main street with shops and restaurants and two blocks from the shore of Waikik Beach and all that is happening. We didn't get a car until the last day of our visit to tour the North Shore of the Island so relied on the city bus. Google maps has a choice when looking up directions to go by bus. It was great listing the bus number we needed and where to catch it from where we were. So easy and economical. Great way to see parts of Honolulu you would never see otherwise. Bus drivers were amazingly helpful and the bus goes everywhere for $2.50. Parking is scarce and/or costly so slow down and see the city, take the bus. We booked through VRBO.com (VacationRentalbyOwner.com)

I love this apartment (unit 111). This is the 2nd time I have stayed there and will definitely stay there again. Derek Daniels, the owner, remodeled it between 2016 and 2017. It is really nice. The location is great. It is almost across the street from Duke's Lane and the new International Marketplace, and about 2 blocks from the beach. It is on the ground floor so all you have to do is walk out the front door and jump into the pool! We barbequed most nights and the grocery store is about 2 blocks. Derek is a great host and always there if you need him (which we didn't) because everything was perfect.

Loved this place. The Hawaiian King is a fantastic window into what Waikiki was 50 years ago. It is s snapshot in time that you can reach out and touch. The manager is very willing and helpful to get you a condo in this taste of vintage Waikiki.

Derek is our host for unit #111 and he has transformed the unit into a tasteful and comfortable change from the "new hotel" glitz and plastic of the new Hawaii to remind us of how neat it was to stay in old Hawaii years ago. Don't be confused by the fact that this is one of the older buildings that started out as a hotel and is now individually owned condominium units. It is spotless and very nicely finished throughout the facility. All the suites face into an internal courtyard (6 floors) with a small and quiet pool area that we just love to sit beside when we are wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. All the essentials are here including a funky little bar and convenience store at the entrance. It is off the main drag but just around the corner from the Food Pantry grocery store and across the street from the International Market Place. Check it out through booking sources that offer Vacation Rentals By Owners. You will be glad you did.

We rented a newly renovated apartment in this condo building. The good points include its proximity to the beach (5 minutes) and the 10+ restaurants around it. The downside is that the bar on the ground floor is quite noisy at night, even after 10pm and especially during the weekend.

After reading reviews we were sure to book a Winston condo in this building. The condo was clean, and everything you could need and more was provided. We were staying for a month while moving to Hawaii so it was nice to have a kitchen. It is an older building, but the condo (#405) was up to date. Mana, the owner, could not have been kinder or more flexible with us. She was quick to respond to questions or issues but completely non obtrusive. There is a local dive bar in the lobby but the elevator and condos are only accessible with a fob. No one in the bar was ever bothersome. The location is ideal directly across the street from the International Market Place, and a close walk to the beach and tons of shops and restaurants.
