I thought it was just a coincidence in 2022 when we stayed here, and only used a credit card on the trip at this property, to find a day or two later the card was charged enormous fraudulent food delivery charges. I thought maybe someone happened to skim this card somewhere else on the trip from my wallet or something. So I bought an RFID shielding wallet, and when we returned a year later, again out of suspicion, only used this one particular card at this hotel, to find again, a day or two later, the card info was yet again stolen, and enormous fraudulent food charges run up on the card a second year in a row. My daughter and I truly love this hotel, but if they cannot fix this massive security leak stealing credit card information from guests, whether staff or a billing system virus or such, we just simply cannot return here as not a secure place to stay…
We attended a wedding at Kailua Ranch and had to make a last minute reservation after our previously booked lodging were canceled by the owners. We were wary but the reviews seemed good. My expectations were pleasantly exceeded. From the welcoming check in to the excellent room cleaning/tiding service to the comfortable beds, our stay was delightful. Waking up to a breathtaking view was a clincher as my pictures portray. Walking distance from transportation, highly recommend trolleys to get a good understanding of the island, to a bustling shopping experience along with beach access. We literally walked everywhere, getting our steps in, enjoying the safety of the area, then retreating to our hideaway. Will definitely recommend.
Pros: reasonably priced for location, filtered water dispenser in lobby Cons: "queen" bed was more like a double/full size, room door did not latch properly, difficult to find street parking I had to cancel our second reservation, so I called four days in advance. The person I spoke to said they would cancel it. The next day, I received an email about my "upcoming stay," so I called again to confirm the cancellation. The person I spoke to (who sounded the same as the first person) said my reservation hadn't been cancelled, but they would cancel it. I did eventually receive a refund, but it would have been reassuring if they had sent a confirmation email.
Currently staying at this hotel. Last night there was a domestic fight in the room next to us. We initially called downstairs out of concern when we heard someone continually screaming no and stop. A fight went in between the couple for att least 40 minutes during which we called downstairs 4x and they took no action. We called and reported it to 911 ourselves. This morning we requested a manager and were refused by the front desk staff. The people have started arguing in the room next to us again and the staff is taking no action so we’ve requested to be moved to another room. We rented through priceline’s surprise pick and will be reporting to them as well.
We enjoyed our stay at the Coconut Waikiki Hotel. The staff was friendly. Our room was ready so we were able to check in early (if not they will store your luggage for you so you can explore the area). The room was nice and comfortable and we had a great view of the mountains and the waterway across the street. There is a little kitchen area in the room with a microwave, couple of plates, and utensils. Liked that the hotel was close enough to walk around Waikiki, but in a quieter area.
Not ritzy but very affordable compared to crazy prices elsewhere. Danni at the front desk super helpful and so sweet. Definitely speak to her if trying get bus pass. Great spot to walk to bus stop less than block away and get to many places(except the airport but that due to Bus Co) in Oahu. Only glitch is the pool (winter season) is not heated as stated but was nice spot to enjoy the sun. Awesome view from the mountain side rooms.
I absolutely LOVE this hotel! My second time staying here and I will continue to come back with every repeat visit. This small mom and pop type hotel has made me feel welcomed, now when they told me to come back and visit I had no idea I would actually feel like Ohana. Robert Jr. and Chenoa have been the most down to earth and caring workers you have ever seen! They remembered me from the moment I stepped through the warm welcoming doors at da Coconut! And it does not end there, the countless conversations with all the front desk my fiancee and I had with (Chenoa),Troy, Dani, and Dante, undeniably brings you the joy to start and end your day on the beautiful island of Oahu! I won't forget the incredible valet staff Robert Sr. & Jr, along with Rodell, Corenelio and Mark always ensuring our car is ready and available. With an amazing staff, workers and people to start your day on Paradise how could you not feel so good and positive! I love this hotel, and with such a beautiful island and place like Hawaii, stay somewhere you feel great and at home, we most definitely do at the Coconut Waikiki! Mahalo…
We stayed here for 6 days on the 8th floor and were wanting a more affordable option so we could do more activities. Rooms are older, not fancy, but again it's on the cheaper side. It was fine. We were so happy it was away from Waikiki Beach. Easy to walk to, but glad we could get out of that busy area. We paid a little extra for a mountain view and enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the landscape. Reception staff were a bit cold, indifferent, but not rude, except the valet. He was very nice. There is no self-parking, so valet is an extra charge, but I felt it was worth it.
We had a great time visiting friends and family. A good part of our wonderful visit was a great hotel room to return to. Well priced rooms for a Waikiki location. This hotel had a very friendly, couteous, and helpful staff. Clean! Nicely maintained hotel.
This was my first hotel experience with pets, so I was very nervous. I communicated with the hotel many times! I appreciated everyone's quick and friendly responses. The front desk was very helpful. The pet fee is very reasonable. We liked the convenience of the location without the 24/7 bustle of the main streets. Our room faced the Ala Wai (mountain view) and was quiet enough. For a quieter night I stuffed a towel under the door to block hallway sounds. Our pet friendly room was clean, but both of the sink drains were slow. Trash bins in the room are also very tiny. We liked the water filter and coffee and tea stations in the lobby. We hung out a bit in the couches and didn't feel weird about it. The tiny pool was colder than expected for being temperature controlled. Overall, we would stay here again because it was a convenient location.…
