My stay here was a one to remember! I came here for a girls trip and we had the best time ever. The staff at the hotel were attentive and kind! Not to mention their restaurant Hau Tree is one of the most beautiful places to dine, coming here a handful of times Logan our server was incredible! She was so knowledgeable about the menu especially the wine/cocktail list. ;) We had such a great time, will definitely be coming back!
Where do I start?!? I mean, when you imagine the most incredible trip to Hawaii, with THE MOST incredible boutique hotel and amazing staff, you think of the Kaimana Beach Hotel. Period. I recently visited the Kaimana Beach Hotel on a surprise proposal trip, and booked a total of 6 rooms for our entire party. There's so much love to give, so I'm going to compartmentalize my review into a few different areas, over the course of a couple of trips (Jan 2022 & Oct 2022): Reservations: From the beautiful website to the ease of calling in, I had no trouble working with Kaimana. I always think that's your first impression of the property and experience, so hats off to an easy time booking. Shout out to Atsuko for being so professional, so sweet, and really efficient when it came to booking my block of rooms. Thanks, Atsuko!!! Location: The location was soooo perfect. I will say traveling during a spike in COVID is always nerve-racking and I really love where Kaimana is located. It's separate from the hustle and bustle of Kalakaua and Kuhio, located next to the Elks Club which I frequent, and has a small beach in front of the property. I felt like I was at an inclusive resort and a lot more private which made our vacation wonderful! Property: WHAT A CUTE PROPERTY! The hotel was formerly the Otani Hotel, now turned into a very cute boutique hotel. The wall art is something outside of a magazine - totally instagramable!! The property had all the amenities I'd be looking for: seating areas, a bar, a restaurant, access to the beach, beach amenities, private dining rooms, and more. Rooms: I was blown away. 5 of our rooms were ocean-view rooms and my room in Feb 2022 was upgraded to a top-floor diamond head suite. WOW. Each room was carefully crafted, decorated and including amazing amenities. The views were spectacular and it was super spacious!!! On my second trip in Oct 2022, we got a standard room facing Diamond Head and I was just as impressed by the beauty of this room. Spacious enough, had a lot of clean amenities, and is super close to the elevators! Staff: What an amazing group of people. I'm going to give each one specific love. Overall, I felt like part of the family. Each person was genuine and so lovely. - Valet: RJ and Trent were great from Feb 2022 - so quick and took the time to make sure our party was well taken care of. We even ordered ubers/cabs and they were on it. Appreciate that sooo much. - Bell and Beach: Matt - super accommodating and nice. He stood close to the front desk to make sure whatever we needed, he was there to handle with care and efficiency - Front Desk: Orlando and Mizuho - AH-MAZE-ING. So personable, so cordial, and took that extra step to personalize my trip. They remembered why we were there (for the proposal) and congratulated us EVERYDAY. Love love love them. Mizuho's kids attend my alma mater; I just love how that conversation really made me part of her family - Food/Bev: Sadie and Eric were great servers for brunch and for our morning beverages. They were nice and all-around approachable!! Concierge: I've gotta make a special shout-out to Kalei Scoggins in concierge. She and I have been friends for a long time, so none of this would have been possible, had it not been for Kalei. From the details, the recommendations on spots around the islands, the introduction of vendors for the proposal, Kalei did not skip a beach. When it came to the amenities of the hotel, she was so accommodating to me and my family, signed us up in all the things that made our trip magical and continued to go above and beyond during our stay. There were even customized baskets in our room to welcome my family to Hawaii. Beyond being one of my closest friends, she's just one of the most professional, most accommodating, most personable members of Kaimana Beach Hotel. I couldn't have asked for a better friend. Overall experience: I think it goes without saying, this hotel will continue to be our preferred spot for years to come. The overall experience was amazing and I can't wait to come back to Oahu and stay at the Kaimana. Thanks again for all your hospitality!!!…
The cocktail menu at Hau Tree is unmatched. My girlfriend and I went in just for some sunset cocktails and the host, Lela, was gracious enough to seat us in the lounge even with no reservations. Our server, Logan, recommended her favorite cocktails and none of them disappointed. She did warn us though that no matter what we ordered, we’d be sure to enjoy it. The food was surprisingly on-par with the drinks. Will be back!
My wife and I went to the Kaimana Beach Hotel to celebrate our 35th anniversary and to renew our wedding vows. From the moment we walked into the hotel, we felt welcomed. The staff was very accommodating and did a great job making us feel special. This was true for the front desk staff, the bar staff, the restaurant staff, and the housekeeping staff. We ate there several times and never had a bad meal. We snorkeled right off the beach and saw nearly every type of fish in the Hawaii guides. The beach is also great for swimming and for watching sunsets. I would recommend staying here. The vibe is perfect for a trip to Hawaii.
The Aloha spirit starts as you exit your car and are greeted by Mike or Mel - the valets. Jonathan was so helpful with our bags and ukana. Big smiles and warm welcome from Quintin and Bailey at the Front Desk- “enjoy your stay, let us know if you need anything!” Lol- I’m now in stay-cation mode!!! My room is perfect- view is amazing! This is our playground by the sea- Kaimana Beach. The room is very clean, well-stocked with towels and necessities. Little Jen helped us book our Sunday breakfast for 6 at Hau Tree and our waitress Makana got our orders and drink requests in expeditiously- food was delicious and breakfast so relaxing. Lalei helped get us set up on the beach- she was so helpful. Sonya also took care of our requests for more towels and shampoo for the room- she made sure she checked if we had what we needed in our rooms. Mahalo for the warm aloha and making my birthday weekend special…can’t wait to return! …
I don’t normally like to come to Waikiki but when I do it’s when my husband is treating me to Hau Tree. My favorite time is during sunset it just adds perfectly to the experience of eating the amazing dishes. Not only is the ambience fabulous but the service is always outstanding. Logan really was the cherry on top for our last meal! She recommended the tako campenelle for my husband and seared fish for me, and she couldn’t have been more spot it. Our entrees were amazing, she kept the cocktails coming even during a rush (shout out to the bartender) although it was busy she made us feel like her only table! Best place hidden inside kaimana beach hotel. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
We had such a pleasant stay at Kaimana Beach Hotel. We went for our 2nd anniversary as a little stay-caytion, and we were blown away. We usually stay at the Hyatt because we are members, but we couldn’t find a suitable room. After multiple visits to different Hyatt hotels we couldn’t find a room we loved and ended up branching out to other hotels. I’d say one of the best parts of our stay was how we were greeted. The front desk man that helped us, Quintin I believe, was so kind and helpful. We were stressed and irritated from hours of being jerked around by the Hyatt, and he just put us at ease. He joked around and made us feel like old friends, or like we had been returning from a long time spent away. Just welcoming all around. Quintin got us set up in our ideal room and layout, and even gave us some tips of things to check out. I can’t tell you how comforting it was to be met with such kindness from Quintin after being treated poorly at other hotels. We love to give our money to companies that are also appreciative of our business. The Hyatt did not make us feel important at all, but Quintin did through his actions and words.…
Great staff- helpful, friendly. Love the location, beach is calm water, great for swimming & small children. Beautiful park adjacent. Hau Tree breakfast is always memorable. Nearby Kapahulu has a number of great, small restaurants. Recommend reservations as they fill up quickly.
This was our second stay and the first since the renovation. We loved this property in its original incarnation and with the upgrades and opening of the bar and lobby spaces, it is better than ever. The staff is amazing! Everyone from the concierge, Matt who reached out ahead of our stay and supported with ground transportation and restaurant recommendations to the welcoming and helpful front desk staff to the bartenders and Hau Tree waitstaff, the entire team was warm, professional, and friendly. With upgrades to the menu, food & drink quality, and staff, the Hau Tree, long the crown jewel of this property, shines even brighter. We love the location, off the crowded, commercial Waikiki strip. We love the views of the shimmering pacific, Waikiki Beach and the towers of Honolulu. We love Kaimana!…
