Our one bedroom suite was the most spacious and comfortable accommodations of our trip to Hawaii. The Embassy Suites is well located for easy access to Waikiki restaurants and shops. No need for a car during our stay. The hotel staff members were helpful in lining up taxi service. Bus stops for transportation to attractions such as Diamond Head Monument were just a couple blocks away. The buffet was suprisingly decent for a mass-market hotel complimentary breakfast. Weekend mornings were crazy-busy with families, however. The cooks did a great job with the cook to order omelettes, which required a short wait for preparation. We loved the relaxing receptions up by the pool each evening and were surprised by the generous pours. Took off one star because the pool area was very crowded and lacked sufficient "free" seating. The hotel should ditch the extra-charge chairs and cabanas (these were always empty during our visit) and replace with free chaise lounge chairs that anyone can use. Took off another star because of horrible handling of a hotel evacuation alarm. One evening, an alarm sounded and there was an overhead announcment to evacuate the hotel via stairways. During this event, not a single Embassy Suites employee made an appearance to guide guests and explain what was going on. The evacuation was horrible for a couple elderly members of our party who had to descend the stairway from one of the higher floors in order to evacuate. When we finally exited the staircase on street level, we did not see any hotel employees. The alarm continued, so we went to a nearby restaurant to wait it out. Later, returning to the hotel, we stopped by the front desk to inquire about the event and were told someone had pulled the fire alarm. The culprit was recognized by security as someone who had recently pulled an alarm at another area hotel. We complained about the fact that no Embassy Suites employees were present or communicated what was going on to us and that the evacuation was horribly physically taxing - hotel employees should have gone up the staircases to let people know it was a false alarm and stop the stairway evacuations. …
Beautiful room, close to beach and restaurants. The concierge were all fantastic. Great valet and biggest teams. Hotel ran like a top, with a huge amount of guests. Happy hour, was great with live music at the pool. ABC store across the street had anything you may need.
We had a great stay here. The complimentary breakfast and cocktails were a great addition. Location is very convenient to get to things. I would definitely stay here again. Do not go to the beach directly in front of where the hotel is as it is small and has a lot of homeless people around it. Easy to walk to other beaches.
Great stay! The two room suites were comfortable, clean and spacious. The complimentary full breakfast is great with made to order omelets. We enjoyed the happy hours with live music at the pool. The hotel is a like “worn” but was clean and great value for our needs. Every staff member we encountered was great from Cindy at check-in to the valets. Although the hotel is not on the beach, the beach is a short walk. We actually liked that it was a little off the main area of Waikiki but close enough to walk. We also enjoyed the Friday night Hilton Hawaii Village fireworks from our room balcony. The fireworks start at 7:45 for 5 minutes. We had a great stay and will definitely stay again. Check out sandwiches and smoothies at the Beachwalk Cafe, right at the corner of the hotel.…
We stayed for 3 days and two nights here and are local residents. As someone who has worked in hospitality for almost 10years I am beyond impressed with the staff here. Everything was clean and working properly. The complimentary breakfast buffet shocked me with how many items they offered. In total we were 2 adults, 2 teens, and an infant. We had a slight issue with the fridge not working properly upon arrival, but their team had someone there within 10minutes to fix the issue. This was our first stay here as we are very picky on where we like to spend our money and this place did not disappoint. All the staff was very friendly welcoming and their response to us needed if ANYTHING was very quick. We stayed the week of spring break 3/14-3/16 and was expecting chaos. I’d recommend staying here and to take advantage of the breakfast buffet!! I loved being close to shops and the abc stores! Walking distance of the Plaza and Royal Hawaiian. Sue at FD was amazing when I called to hold a cabana, as I knew we’d arrive before the room was ready. Luckily, she did it for us as it rained and we struggled to keep the baby in a car seat dry. When I checked in she remembered that I called and made our check in process quick and easy. As soon as the room was ready she texted me and I appreciate her willingness to be so helpful. The pool bartender Lewis was amazing both days we were on the pool deck! We had good conversations and he even remembered me by name! I really enjoyed conversing with him and him being genuinely kind. Though he got busy with more patrons, he kept his composure and did so well acknowledging guests and asking them to give him a moment. I can’t wait to see him when we stay again. Keola was the other bartender that remember us that was also great with service and good to laugh with. I think he laughed more at me than I did at him but he was someone else that I’d come back to see. Ryan from security was another person who was quick and responsive to a situation we had. Very professional and had good intentions to keep everyone safe and happy. He even followed up with us to ensure that everything was good. Such kind a kind hearted young man. Last person we had a run in with was Cary I believe. A gentleman who was helping clean on the 4th floor around 10am as we were leaving on 3/16. The ice machine was down and I freaked out about keeping baby milk cold. He notified his team and took the extra step to get my ice from the staff area and ensure the milk wouldn’t go bad. If you don’t have the Hilton honors app I highly recommend it since you can message hotel staff and they respond in minutes to assist. Kaiana was another representative that was attentive to our stay and very helpful through that app. Thank you Embassy Suites!…
Staff was very accommodating during check-in. Breakfast good as always although the biscuits weren’t as good as the pancakes and French toast. Location is convenient, rooms are a bit dated but very spacious. Gym needs to have some more weight lifting options or space. It’s a bit tight for more than one person to train and cable machines are missing accessories. Would be nice if the pool was heated a tad more? Maybe to 85-87F? Overall nice stay!
Let's get one thing clear...Hawaii is almost prohibitively expensive these days...oof...$8 Canadian for a medium drip coffee from Big Wave Dave...I feel a faint coming on, or perhaps a large "Are you effing kidding me?" The hotel. For the most part, if you're with youngins, Embassy Suites provides a pretty decent bang for buck. It's not the nicest hotel, but it's certainly not the worst by far. When we got to the check-in, it felt quite nice, however, the rooms aren't as nice as the lobby area. It's my feeling that Embassy is struggling from what many hotels there are struggling from...age. Rooms feel older, a bit musty, and in need of more than just a furniture upgrade, which is what appears they have done. Modern furniture, old carpet, old layout, fans in bathrooms that don't work; the front desk told me the fan was on the whole time, but trust me when I say, you'll have to hang your towels out on furniture if you want them dry the next day. Even a cool shower leaves enough moisture on the mirror that a gang of squeegee kids would have a hard time keeping up. The carpet is clearly old and should be replaced soon. Just feels a bit dirty. Now, about the room furniture. We had a one-bedroom suite which was fairly adequate for 4 of us. My wife and I offered the kids to take the nicer bed so they didn't have to sleep close together, and we would take the pullout bed in the other room. Suffice to say, I think I may need a walker for the rest of my life and a gaggle of masseuses to work out the kinks in my back. We visited the 80-year-old WWII submarine at Pearl Harbour, and I swear to god those cramped sailors' bunks looked more comfortable. Is it too much to at least upgrade the pullout beds so that we might get a comfortable and noiseless sleep? Every minor shift and the springs creaked. The crossbar dug heavily into my poor back! Or just a better quality mattress even? Speaking of noise...I think the elevator was IN our room. Avoid any rooms that end in 01. Yes, the elevator was an issue, but thankfully we were so tired at the end of our vacation days that we just slept through it. The good part about our suite is we could lock the door from our side without concern of being interrupted, nudge nudge wink wink.. Oh wait, we were too tired. Damn you Hawaii! The Pool. It's nice, especially in the evening when the torches are lit and old-timey lights are on. The downside is if you want your hot tubbing nice and relaxing instead of crawling with children, look elsewhere. Lots of kids. But then, they cater to families. We're parents, so we get it, and still enjoyed Happy Hour hot tub time. The service. For the most part, the service is quite good, no complaints. The Bell staff was attentive, and even apologetic when a taxi didn't show up on time through no fault of their own, the hotel even covered the cost of the ride, which was about $4000 US. The bartenders at the evening happy hour were terrific, even remembering our drinks the next day. That type of service is memorable. I will forgive the one bartender for getting mad at me when I requested a Blue Monday...Blue Hawaiian!! Blue Hawaiian!! I'm so so sorry!! The breakfast. One of the main reasons we chose Embassy Suites is because they include a cooked breakfast every morning. And it's a really good setup. Lots to choose from, really good quality, a selection of juice on tap, and endless coffee. The made-to-order omelets are great but you might have to stand in line for a bit. Over the course of the week, breakfast items tended to rotate so you weren't always eating the same thing. It's still a good reason to rebook Embassy, especially for families. The only thing is, it's big and loud and more cafeteria-like than anything else. It is what it is. Happy Hour. As mentioned, the hotel offers Happy Hour every evening at the pool and everyone gets free drink tickets. It was my wife and I and two kids, they just poured the kids Shirley Temples and saved their tickets for us. We had more than enough the whole week! AANNDD, the drinks are pretty healthy pours! They offer snacks at this venture, literally just pretzels and a big bowl of chips. If you are expecting more, don't. Cuz we did, and kind of laughed when we saw what 'snacks' meant. But I digress, the breakfasts make up for it...as do the reallylllr ssstuif drik.....s. Location. Great. Short walk to the beach. Short walk to the main strip. Lots of shops and restaurants around. If you need to rent snorkel gear, the aforementioned Big Wave Dave has what you need at the bottom of the hotel. Another plus. Often when we needed a taxi, Wing or Jake were there with their stretch limos for the same price as a minivan. Pulling up to a catamaran sail in 'Julio's stretch' is a little ballin...we're not ballers...like... at all. Fun fact, Bruno Mars is Hawaiian. See what I did there? Bottom line. If you're traveling with kids and don't want the hassle of finding breakfast every day, with the added $100 US it's gonna cost, stay here. The place is very well run and they let us store our bags, and offered access to the hotel after check out as our flight left late in the evening. If we come back with kids, we would definitely consider staying here...in a different room. Even though the pros outweigh the cons, if it was just my wife and me, we might go somewhere else.…
Scott Keola Aldarin Jaymar and staff went out of there way to make our stay exceptional as usual. We have stayed here for multiple years in a row and couldn't ask for better service. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel is bear beaches and restaurants for those who don't want to rent a car.
We arrived in the early morning and were given wristbands so we could enjoy the breakfast and pool area until our room was ready. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly. Our experience and time at the pool would have been perfect had it not been for all the small children doing cannon balls in the jacuzzi, ultimately we opted to not enjoy that option. I wish the staff would have been more attentive to the happenings at the pool, especially since many of the adults around us were clearly disappointed in their rambunctious behavior. We stayed for one night and were pleasantly surprised by the corner room upgrade I received due to my Lifetime Diamond Status. The room was very clean, comfortable and had a nice view of the ocean. The night manager’s reception was great! The bartender was very friendly and served up some wonderful drinks. We will definitely stay again, and hope our next visit will be a tad quieter pool side.…
Loved our room with an ocean view, helpful and courteous staff, and exceptional benefits included: free breakfast with omelet station, pool bars with free maitais in the evening, great bartenders (Lewis was friendly, entertaining and excellent drinks). Great room rate too!
