Nestled in a prime location, Aqua Palms Waikiki delights guests with its inviting atmosphere and newly refurbished rooms that boast comfort and amenities such as balconies. The hotel's proximity to the beach and local dining and shopping venues is frequently praised, although parking can be tricky. Cleanliness is a standout feature, with efficient housekeeping praised by many travelers. While the amenities are seen as basic by some, the overall value is considered good, especially with the friendly service and perks like DVD rentals and IHOP discounts. However, a few guests have noted issues with AC and pests in rooms.

The hotel is really nice - the staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are nice and perfectly clean. The hotel is located conveniently to everything you want - stores, restaurants, the beach and there is a bus stop right in front to take you to Pearl Harbor for example.
I would definitely recommend staying here! Thank you for the awesome time we spend at the Aqua Palms.

It’s hard to say that this hotel were not what my family and myself were expecting . I don’t like to write negative reviews when things were not that bad but at the same time I have to bring this to management attention . I stayed here for 5 nights and everyday my room was cleaned , but the day before leaving I left a note to the guest room attendant with tip asking her ( please ) to have all my linen changed cause it was stained with coffee that accidentally I spilled on my bed . At night after taking a shower I went to bed and noticed that my sheets were not changed ! I’m disappointed because I was expecting to find fresh and clean Cheets that’s what I’m paying for !! I understand that begin a maid is not an easy job but they need to be on guest shoes all the time knowing that we pay a high rate per night plus resort fee Dayli . Elevators always late ! Waiting more than 5 minutes all the time . Would I recommend this place ? I don’t know to be honest.

My wife and I have stayed at many different properties in Waikiki and for a variety of occasions. This was our third time staying at Aqua Palms and we chose this property again, for several reasons. First of all, we knew the location provides for ease of access in and out of Waikiki, and we knew we would be coming and going quite often. It is also an easy walk to Ala Moana for those who may be visiting there, as well as to all the restaurants and shopping in Waikiki proper. What we were pleasantly surprised to find was that the rooms had been redone since our last visit and offered crisp, clean and comfortable new accommodations at a great value. The staff were super friendly, sharing that Aloha spirit we all wish to experience when travelling through Hawai'i. We had one issue upon arrival; the A/C did not seem to be working properly when we first entered the room. We contacted the front office and a maintenance engineer was knocking on our door within 5 minutes and the issue was resolved in less than 20 minutes. THAT is speedy service. In short, Aqua Palms is a great little property with wonderful staff, easy access, ample parking, great value and it is at the proper end of Waikiki for those who want to come and go easily and experience other parts of the city and the island. Mahalo Aqua Palms team!

The hotel is being remodelled, we got a good room, however the bathroom smelled like rotten eggs. The elevator was really slow, we took the stairs most of the time (10th floor). The hotel is at a very good location, near Waikiki and there are many restaurants and shops around. Staff is kind and helpful. We felt scammed with our bill because it didn't match the price stated in our booking... They charge you one extra night, but don't worry it's just 160 dollars! We were not told we had to pay to use the parking either. However, we did know we had to pay a daily ammenity fee, I still wonder what ammenities we paid for... I hope it wasn't for the use of the swimming pool which was really small and we didn't use. We had other options to stay at and if we had known all these aspects we wouldn't have chosen Aqua Palms.

We spent 7 nights there. We highly recommend Aqua Palms and will definitely return. Very reasonably priced. Everything was top notched and we were treated first class. Staff was very friendly, helpful, efficient, and accommodating, we travelled with my parents and asked for rooms close to each other and they accommodated us by putting us just down the hall from them. The location is perfect, great view from our room, about a block and 1/2 to the beach and very close to dining and shopping. Also a free shuttle to Walmart and other shopping centers. They also have a beautiful pool with a great view. Thanks for the most excellent experience!!!

Stayed in room listed as "luxury suite w/living room sofabed separate bedroom".

NOTE- The hotel is a bit "tired" and in need of an update. This was not a luxury suite as was advertised. I knew from reviews to expect it may be "tired" but not to this degree. The furniture in room is old and scratched. The carpet worn. The 2nd floor is actually slanted. You can see and feel that by just walking to our room-Rm 205. The floor in room walking from sliding door to kitchen area is also on a slant, more felt than seen. When I turned on shower 1st morning the faucet vibrated and was very loud. The noise and vibration ceased after 1st use but nonetheless was a bit of a concern the 1st use. The bedroom carpet was worn. The furniture throughout has lost luster years ago. The Fitness Center should really not be called a Center; Fitness ROOM more concise. 2 Treadmills, a cycle and weights. Treadmills did not start but staff able to help quickly and fix problem.

Wonderful staff who were all friendly and attentive! If we needed more blankets, pillows, towels or help with treadmills in workout room, they were always quick to respond and helpful. They were all gracious and accommodating.

The location is great, however. Across from Hilton Hawaiian Village and walking distance to Ala Moana Park. The IHOP is attached though we never ate there.
I do hope the hotel can get upgraded in future.

I personally feel disappointed on how they treat guests with very basic minimum of services. Front desk is bare minimum on hospitality. Housekeeping is none due to COVID (other hotel has it upon request, you can just leave the room empty and ask the hotel to clean your room while you’re gone). This hotel has a very small pool with range of 3 to 4 feet depth. Barely having 4 people in the pool at the same time, you have to reserve! This hotel provides replacement of towels, and all basic necessities because they don’t provide housekeeping during your stay. However, they won’t give you ALL the basic necessities unless you list them very detail of what items you need, example the towels, trash bags, toilet papers, etc. Their elevator looks old. The hotel looks really really a budget hotel even though the website shows how nice they looked! The pictures show the bathtub is huge! But after booking and went into our room, the bathtub is so small that it’s only good for one person and barely you can lie down and enjoying a bath! The TV is so small! Plus point though, they have a microwave at least. Other budget hotels only have coffee maker, this one has microwave, coffee maker, ironing board, etc. Still, other things are just disappointing!! If you can afford another hotel, just don’t choose this one!

Aloha 656magenm: Mahalo for taking the time to share your recent experience at the Aqua Palms Waikiki. I'm disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us. Yes, the elevator has been down for a while due to the availability of parts due to COVID. We are working closing with the elevator company to have the parts flown in once they are available. We do have strict protocols in place due to COVID for the safety of our guests and employees. Our numbers here in Hawaii have steadily been growing and we want to make sure that we protecting everyone. We booked a partial view not realizing we would literally be able to see a very small view across the street between other hotels of the ocean. As someone stated in an earlier comment the hallway is slanted and weird and the rooms were a little dated. The carpet in our room had a red stain in it (hopefully it wasn't blood). Last, the morning of checkout, the sanitation workers came at day break to dump the toilets in the receptacle and woke us up. The sight of the toilets and soiled mattresses when you walk by the hotel which is on the maintain strip was a eyesore; there must be a better way to hide the trash prior to trash day.

We wanted to like this hotel but it missed the mark on several levels.
1. We stayed in one of the rooms with a full kitchen. There is no balcony and none of the windows open. So when u cook the smoke builds up and the exhaust fan is old and ineffective. Thus leaving the entire place smelling like food. The scent is in your clothes etc.
2. Dirty! The room upon entry has a high level of dust behind the bed, the floors look to not have been mopped recently. We are still in a pandemic and the hotel doesn’t clean well. In addition our refrigerator came with an ice maker. I got sick using the ice!! Apparently they don’t change the filters and before I realized it I consumed ice water with large white particles of mold in it.
3. Service. The service here is poor. When you ask for something you’re instructed to come down to the front desk to retrieve it. They seldom bring anything to your room.
4. Housekeeping. We stayed here for a week and housekeeping only came once to service the room on day 2 or 4.
5. Deferred maintenance. This hotel has a laundry list of deferred maintenance. The bathroom sink backs up when you use it. The kitchen sink has a foul odor coming from the drain, the dishwasher needs to be cleaned internally, the overall decor looks like something from the 1970s. The shower water pressure is AWFUL! Feels like a light sprinkler opposed to a shower. The hot water doesn’t get hot. Rather it gets luke warm at best.

Thing we did like.
…….it’s hard to say because the issues overshadowed anything positive we may have experienced. The elevatorss were in working order while I was there.

Overall I would not stay here again and I do not recommend this hotel to future guests.

Aloha X4724VOkristenr: Mahalo for taking the time to share your recent experience at the Aqua Palms Waikiki. I'm disappointed to hear of your concerns and challenges during your stay. Unfortunately, in reviewing your account I don't see any notes of concern that were voiced during your stay so that we may have been able to address them. We have a very limited number of units with full kitchen facilities and yes, the unit you stayed in does not have a lanai or windows that open. Since COVID we have limited our housekeeping services for the safety of our guests and employees. Housekeeping service is provided on the 4th day of a seven night stay. During your stay all other amenities are available at the front desk. Your feedback is being provided to our team to ensure that these items are addressed moving forward and will use it as a training tool for our staff. Our staff and the properties location are two of the biggest selling points of the property and we hope that you were able to enjoy both. All of the staff and management hope you were able to take home fond memories of your stay in Waikiki and will afford us the opportunity to regain your valued patronage. Our family stayed here 5 years ago and from the lasting impression of their exceptional friendly customer service we stayed again this year for 10 nights. There is so many accommodation options to chose from in Waikiki but this little gem will have us coming back to stay every time! It may not be the most newest looking accommodation but it certainly isn’t the oldest; we didn’t come to Hawaii to look at the walls. The hotel is a quick walk to the beach, Main Street and Ala Moana shopping centre. The beds were very comfy and spacious for our family of 4. The shuttle service to the shopping centre was very welcomed and ihop next to the entrance was a great spot to eat. The managers drinks and nibbles on Wednesday afternoons with beautiful live music was such a treat that I’m not sure a bigger or fancier hotel would be able to capture the intimacy of such an event that made us feel part of the family. The highlight of our stay here was the concierge Charla! Charla helped us book activities for the duration of our stay and really catered to our families needs! Her friendliness, expert knowledge and professionalism is an asset to the Expedia group. Thanks to Charla our family will have lifelong and enriching memories of our time spent in Hawaii and I cant recommend her services highly enough for anyone needing help with their holiday planning too!

Cost of a taxi form the airport to the Hotel is approximately $45. There are so many things to do and see while you are here it is hard to just name a few. Ala Moana Shopping Center, Ala Moana Beach Park, Fort Derussy and the heart of Waikiki are all within walking distance of the hotel. We look forward to seeing you soon!
