On the positive,it was in a good location, there was a really nice swimming pool, the bed was clean and very comfortable, there were no drinking facilities in the room however there was a fridge and a tv. Visually the room was really tired and would have benefited from a refurbishment, it is a dog-friendly hotel so unfortunately a bit of barking going on. The food on site was not great.

Surfjack is perhaps the coolest accommodations we’ve had in our travels to Hawaii. The penthouse room was beautifully appointed in an island deco theme with a great view of Waikiki from the deck. The food at Mahina & Sun’s was delicious, morning, noon and night. We loved the live music every evening by the pool. The location was perfect for walking to beaches and shopping. But the best part of our stay was the staff, at the front desk, at the restaurant, and caring for our room. We felt seen and appreciated in every interaction. We’ll be back to enjoy the place and the people. Thank you, Sam!

With all of the choices in Waikiki, the SurfJack is our top pick! We happened upon this adorable, boutique hotel by chance. And we will never say anywhere else. Everything about it is amazing! The rooms are so nicely decorated and cozy, the restaurant and bar is amazing, the pool is incredible, and everyone who works here is so kind and hospitable. Haley is the best! She is always so friendly and accommodating, making sure we are having the best stay ever! We have stayed here many times now and it truly is our favorite place. Even the decorations around the hotel and in the rooms are all from local artists. At night there is live music by the pool and if you have friends staying at another hotel, they can just come and order drinks and food and enjoy the music with you. Stuff: so friendly and nice. They are every time there, our questions are super fast answered. They are easy and everytime around you. Hotel: Nice rooms, clean rooms, nice pool with a tv screen, free coffee in the morning, free water every time, free sunscreen every time, super nice lounge where u can enjoy a cocktail and live music in the evening. We are two couples we stayed in two double rooms for 3 nights after our cruise. What a total let down to the end of our holiday. Overall were very disappointed with our stay and would not return or recommend to anyone. PROs All the team were very friendly. Quiet location yet easy to get to the centre and beach CONs We did not find it good value for money and could have stayed at much better accommodation for less money. The brochure description and the customer reviews did not reflect what we experienced during our stay. The hotel is tired and grubby. The furniture, fixtures and fittings are water damaged, the paint work is marked and dirty looking with splashes on headboards and art work. The wall paper peeling in places. The walls are thin so we heard children crying at one side and a dog barking at the other side meaning we did not even get a good nights sleep. The lighting is poor making the place look dark and very gloomy. The food in the restaurant was very poor. The fish was reheated and over cooked. The complimentary coffee and tea in a morning were cold.…

Aloha, Thank you for your review. After sharing your comments with the staff, you are memorable because the staff remembers you! They advised me that they moved you the next day to poolview rooms as you requested. They also stated that they did not hear any complaints from you and there is nothing on your record mentioning any issues. We are a service oriented hotel first and foremost so if there was something that was not quite right, we would have done everything and anything to achieve your satisfaction. You are right, we are not a brand spanking new hotel, we opened in 2016 and now 7 years old. But we still have wonderful aged charm for a mid-century vibe hotel. The rooms actually have held up very well despite showing some age, but are very clean and resemble north shore surfing cottages. Perhaps your perception of grubby is that most of the hotel is outdoors and the elements do have an effect upon the lobby, pool, restaurant area, guest hallways, etc. But again, the vibe is one of a kind and we are sorry that you were not able to see what many feel about the hotel; maybe your choice in the Surfjack was mismatched to the mainstream brand hotels you may be accustomed to. Coffee and Tea in the morning is very important! If you would have easily mentioned it to the restaurant they would have rectified the situation immediately. Our group of 7 stayed here for a few nights before boarding our cruise and it was a wonderful stay. The rooms are comfortable, the staff is friendly and the pool area is very inviting. We spent most of our free time gathered around the pool chatting and sharing some drinks. This hotel is well located and close to many restaurants, shopping and Waikiki Beach. The vibe here is very relaxed and makes you feel like you're on vacation. HIghly recommend!

Great Hotel! Room was great, very calm. The hotel was very clean and staff was very nice. The pool was very pleasant as well. Walking distance from Waikiki and a bus stop right next to it, it was convenient if you don’t have a car. The one thing we were missing are umbrellas by the pool area as it gets very hot and sunny with only a couple of chairs that are in the shade. But I will for sure book this hotel again next time I am in Waikiki.
