We had the best staycation at White Sands! This place came highly recommended so we decided to spend a relaxing weekend here. I went with my grandma, parents and daughter and we all had a great time. That’s 4 generations that loved it! It was a beautiful hidden oasis with a cool vintage vibe. The rooms were so clean and comfortable, very spacious and even had a microwave and mini fridge. We spent a lot of time in the pool and jacuzzi! We also ventured out into Waikiki. The beach was walking distance, literally 2 blocks away. And the hotel has beach gear you can rent for free. There were so many yummy restaurants nearby. We met so many wonderful staff during our stay , they were all so welcoming, helpful and accommodating. A big Thank you Bev, Jerico, Rommel, Wade and Vjee, you made our experience so memorable. Thank you to all the other staff even if we forgot your names. Every single one of you made our stay special. We can’t wait to come back and will recommend this place to everyone! Thank you!…
I booked a 3-night stay via a discount travel website. Took a chance, based on the cute photos. Turns out, they do not do this place justice. It's a sweet oasis in the middle of all the action of Honolulu. The decor is mid-century, a tiki vibe with lots of unique little touches. But the White Sands lacks nothing where modern conveniences are concerned. Each day you can check out beach chairst, boogie boards, etc., and take a short walk straight over to the beach. Super easy. We did that and after a day of fun and sun, with all the people crowding the beach, it was fantastic to enter the friendly confines of this oasis of a hotel. Soft Hawaiian music, and occasional jazz fills the background. There's a restaurant (Hey Day) and a bar with craft cocktails and yummy food. Bartendars were professional and knew how to make a good drink. Everything about this place made us want to come back even before we left. Little things, like the awesome hot tub tucked away in a lava stone cove, away from the pool area. The koi pond. The tiki torches and ambient lighting. Somehow, they managed to make the atmosphere at the pool suitable for families ( couple with babies) and singles, couples, all at the same time. Just an excellent, chill, mellow vibe all around.…
This hotel has a wonderful vibe to it . It’s a small hotel no multi-storey high rise thank goodness. It’s surrounded by trees a lovely bar area for lovely cocktails . The staff a very friendly. Music played live on certain evenings . Rooms spacious with a great bed . Make no mistake if corporate is what you are after ( why would you) this is not for you . If it’s a great vibe , great location you won’t be disappointed. a
Great location. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean room (I would get rid of the carpet it's past it's prime), friendly staff and the best Mai Tai I had in my trip. The pool is very clean and the lounge chair so comfortable. The staff were also accommodating when we needed things.
The staff is amazing the rooms are great the beds are comfy . I stayed in a poolside view king 2nd floor with a lanie sit outside hear the music sipping a drink from your in room fridge I had stocked. The bar is fun has swings and awesome cocktails closes at 9pm. Pool has lounge chairs with umbrellas have a 50s vibe. I want to say how amazing and friendly the front staff is have a problem they will fix it!
Loved the vintage and chill vibes here! Awesome stay for a family with children. Small boutique type hotel with pool, hot tub, koi fishpond and bar with swings. They had live music at night, poolside. Staff was nice, and food and coffee available for purchase. They let us know they will clean our room once and Marvin was great. The rooms are small on the small side and shower height is low, but none was a problem for us. They had beach chairs, umbrella, and beach mat available to use for free. Parking was $40/night and if you're in a truck or larger, it will be pretty difficult to park in the lot. If you're looking for a 5-star hotel, large/ high rise, with daily cleaning, this hotel is not for you. If you're looking for small, chill, vintage vibes, this place is awesome! We will definitely return again.…
We just had a great stay at the White Sands boutique hotel. From the moment we arrived we received excellent customer service from the woman working at the front desk March 09. We loved the set up, ambiance and room. We had stayed right on Waikiki Beach and this hotel is a couple of blocks back so you have a little oasis. The teens loved the ambiance. There was plenty of space to relax by the pool. My daughter ordered a Virgin Pina Coloda that was so fresh and delicious. Don't be scared of the negative reviews. It certainly is a gem of a place!
The staff is top notch - to a person. Location is great. Restaurant, bar and pool are wonderful. The room was awful. My wife came out of bathroom the first morning really upset. She said she had heard EVERYTHING from the bathroom of the adjacent room. I took a chair in to investigate the vent in the common wall. As I pulled myself up to it's level, I could SEE the top of the mirror and light in adjacent bathroom through what appeared to be a flmsy paper filter in a state of total dissrepair! I immediately got down. Yuck! Other items of discomfort: 1- the closet is in the bathroom 2- no suitcase stands, forcing accessing on the floor and only one am small chair 3 - the shower is tiny. We are both 6' tall and the shower head was at shoulder level. You have to turn the water off to soap up then turn back on to rinse off.…
I loved everything about this sweet hotel. From the friendly greeting to the little purple flower on the bed. I loved the little porch with table and chairs, hot tub and pool. The poolside restaurant had a delicious curry chicken club sandwich and steak fries. The bar had swings to sit in and the live music at night was so relaxing. The art works in the room was local and very good. The location to Dukes market place is very close. They work with a shuttle service to the airport.
The White Sands was a perfect little hotel tucked away from the busy streets of Waikiki. Beautiful pool area, great restaurant and bar live Hawaiian music on some nights and a quick walk to the famous Waikiki beach. The staff were always so friendly and attentive - everyone from the front desk to the bartenders to the cleaning staff. Shout out to Marvin who cleaned our room beautifully every time! Would absolutely stay again when we return.
