This hotel is great. Had a great time last year, came back again this year (spring break). I made a small error on my reservation and Colleen went the extra mile to fix my problem which was not easy considering the hotel was full. The pool deck underwent a $10 million renovation recently with two great pools, hot tub, corn hole boards, bars, restaurants. and they keep it spotless clean (a crew every morning before sun up scrubbing decks). Perfect location with plenty of food options onsite or off. You can rent a surfboard at Start Beachboys for $10 for 2 hours or get a group lesson (waikiki has perfect gentle waves for learning to surf). I recommend using this as your base because Honolulu starts to feel too much like Vegas after a few days- use it as your base and go see the whales on the makupu lighthouse hike, take a dolphin tour/boat ride (turtles), if you have adventurous teens (or yourself), grab a couple Morey Boogie bodyboards from Costco $35 each (way better quality than ABC store) and hit makupu beach (big waves but not deadly like north shore). Tons to see and do- this hotel is well run with a great staff- every interaction was friendly. Also fun activities at the hotel, classes painting Hawaiian sunsets and flowers, fire knife dancers, yoga- something for everyone. This hotel has a great vibe and everyone seemed to be having fun.

My husband and I stayed at this resort for 7 nights in March and it was wonderful! The grounds were beautiful and well-kept. The pools were great with multiple umbrellas for shade! We were upgraded to a one-bedroom suite which was amazing! The daily maid service was flawless and very much appreciated too! All staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful and the views of the ocean from the hotel were stunning! The coffee shop had great coffee and the best scones! I highly recommend their blueberry scone! The restaurant had a really good breakfast too. My only negative comment is that the other food at the restaurant wasn't very good. We ate a lunch and a dinner there and both meals were disappointing. The food was just bland and missing something. The service was great and friendly though! Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for couples or families!

The room was very comfortable and accommodating. Did not have a microwave to heat food (had leftovers from the various restaurants near by. Rooms in the tower had to listen to the elevators going up and down. Plan on spending a lot of money for the breakfast buffet ($40 per person) and a hotel fee of $50 per day for two water bottles, a hotel bag, 2 pair of slippers, use of beach towels and chairs. Stayed 7 nights for a total of $350. Expensive give aways.

We stayed here for three nights on our way to Utah for some skiing. The hotel is chaos all day 15 mins to get into a lift. Extremely noisy you can’t open the window and watch TV / sleep. We wanted to eat at the Queen restaurant one night it was less than 50% occupied we were told 30 mins for a table 🤔🤔🤔 The front of house lady was rude and abrupt eventually the manager appeared and was most helpful seating us almost immediately ! Sorry but we wont be back 🥺

Nice hotel. Good location. Good location. Front desk was not pleasant. Think they are very important and act like robots. Wait staff at adult pool were efficient and nice. Elevators were very fast and quiet. Beds were very comfortable. Shower was really large, takes hot water quite a while to arrive but then plenty of it.

I would definitely not stay here again as I prefer a more private scene. I also hated having to cross the road to go to the beach it was a SCHLEP. The beach was very narrow so everyone had to pack in. Also my little boys enjoyed riding the waves in inner tubes at other Hawaiian beaches and at this one there is a huge cement wave break so there are NO waves. We did do a surf lesson and they loved that. The hotel itself was very nice we got adjoining rooms so it was very spacious. Every night they have fire dancers at the pool. The pool was jam packed during the day which was also annoying when we were trying to vacation easily.

Titanium elite. stayed here to visit my sick 95 yr old aunt in Jan. . Beds were too low & had no support. you sank into mattress & my back was killing me. requested no resort fee since I never used the resort. They said no. A Marriott property in Kona took care of me when my mother suddenly fell ill during our vacation oct 2021. They dropped all Resort and parking fees and also made sure I was fed. That is what customer service is! I will never stay at the Waikiki Beach Marriott again. Traveling to O’ahu for my aunts funeral. Trying out the Laylow Autograph Hotel instead. Rooms are remodeled but still old. Bathrooms are oddly laced out with a bidet that takes up 1/2 the space, you can only fit 1 person in it. Not worth the points I paid for this place despite having an ocean view room.

I feel so horrible, I was working on a hotel review that I just stayed at (Los Angeles area) 2 days ago and I realized I forgot to do this hotel from last September. My 30th wedding anniversary, and the front desk did a complimentary upgrade, we were placed in the 2nd highest floor, nice ocean view. Room was really nice, love the bathroom and also the view from the room. We ate at the resort several times, expensive "yes", but everything is expensive in that part of Hawaii. Key note, I was really worried about the pool and not being able to get a lounger by the pool, since there isn't that much seating in the pool area. We never had a problem, there were always plenty of options to lay out by the pool. Service was also good for eating/drinking by the pool. Location of hotel is also nice, within 10-15 minutes, or less, you can pretty much walk anywhere you want to go in Waikiki. One last note, hoping the front desk sees this, on our last night (checking out at the beginning of last Oct), there were newlyweds that just checked in next door. For some reason they thought it was okay to make the whole floor sound like a disco tech. It was so loud, the walls were shaking. I called the front desk and after banging on the neighbor's door for a while, they got them to stop immediately, and everything went back to peace and quiet, like how the whole trip was prior. I would highly suggest this hotel, we did a package deal with Hawaiian Airlines.

Marriott Ambassador Elite. I normally stay at the Moana Surfrider which is a great hotel and location. I wanted to try the Marriott Waikiki Beach since it was renovated. It was just an average stay. Location-all the way at the end of Waikiki and the beach area isn't the best. Rooms-they have been renovated but nothing special. Hotel still has it's old bones. Rooms are very noisy. I could hear anytime someone walked down the hall plus the people the next room over very clearly. They need to work on soundproofing these rooms. Positives-staff works hard; two Starbucks connected to the hotel; Aricana Italian restaurant is pretty popular
