What could be better than going to the beach out of one exit and shopping out of the other? I'm not sure, but after 24 hours in Oahu, I'm on "island time", and my SoCal stress winds down to almost nothing.
A side note: Here's...More
Ilikai is nice but it's not worth the money! Common spaces are not as sparking kleen as they should be. The restaurants are expensive, pools are not the best, but the location is perfect! It is Hawaii which is insanely expensive. There are so many...More

Especially if you would like to sleep later than 8am. I also would not like to have limited access to my room during my holidays. I would wait until the work is finished if you can reschedule your holiday although they can't be working on every floor on every day. They should be able to tell you how long a floor would take to redo?

It is a very short walk to the beach or the Lagoon, If you can get a room with a Lagoon view...then it is awesome! We had a room facing Lagoon on the 20th floor and it was sensational. Their pool is great, Their restaurant is also very nice for all meals and not bad prices either. We were their a week and walked to every dinner place every night! There are so many restaurants around the Hotel and down the beach. Taking the Boardwalk, you can just get off at any Hotel along the beach and they all have restaurants! Finding food is no problem. Plus their are shuttle buses you can catch in front of the hotel to take you pretty much anywhere. The shuttle buses are colour coded for different areas you want to go! Easy to use and cheap!!
