Absolutely loved staying at the Ilikai, the rooms are so spacious & the balcony is nice & big. We traveled as a family of 3 & the pull out lounge was perfect for our daughter& still left plenty of room to walk around. There is a full kitchen which is great & saves heaps of money especially with breakfast as we are big eaters. The bathroom is a good size with a nice big shower, the bathroom vanity is pretty big & plenty of room to put your toiletries. On each floor there is a laundry room which is really handy especially when travelling with kids. This was our 2nd time staying here & will definitely stay here again.
There is a bus & trolley stop out the front which is so convenient.

Aloha KylieA144! Thank you for staying at the Ilikai Hotel & Luxury Suites and for taking the time in writing a review. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and enjoyed the unit you occupied. Having a full kitchen in our units is a big plus as we know things in Hawaii can get very pricey so cooking every once in a while helps tremendously. We look forward to seeing you maybe a 3rd time in the near future. Please let me know if there is anything I can assist you with. Mahalo, Sandra Hashimoto Hotel Manager

We found this hotel to be a very good choice. Ample room, nice kitchen, and very good view out of the balcony. The staff were friendly throughout our stay and arranged an early check-out too. Room cleaning was generally good but we did find some occasions in which the room hadn't been properly cleaned. Otherwise an excellent stay. Cheaper parking is available around the building in the marina but they also offer their own valet and self-park parkings.

We stayed here for one night due to its convenient location. We had a suite on level 22 facing the main road. The suite was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable.
The only complaint I had was that the rooms are not sound proof and you could hear car horns and sirens from the road.
There is laundry on this floor but it's a $2.50 fee for each wash and dry.
There are 2 pools, one is a tanning pool. The other is a larger pool with warm water. My son was told he wasn't allowed to jump in the pool but it is 8 foot on one end so that means the only way in is to use the ladder which people tend to hover around.
I found the staff and reception to be efficient but not very informative. We had no idea where the pools were and had to ask other guests as there is no signs in the lift.
The luggage desk was never attended. There is a phone that you call to ask for luggage to be stored but we had to call twice before anyone came. When we wanted to pick up our luggage they were so slow that we decided to wheel our own luggage to our room.
On Friday night there is free entertainment at the hotel courtyard area. The reception staff didn't inform us about this but there was a flyer in the lift.
We had ice cream at Dave's Ice cream and the lady who works there was so friendly! Lovely lady and delicious ice cream.
The convenience store is also very big and has a lot of variety.
The best thing about this hotel is the location and our room was also impressive and well equipped. Maybe next time I would request a room facing the marina, might be quieter.

Upon arrival, we noticed there were many many issues with condo 1318 but most importantly at that very moment, there were no sheets for the sofa bed. After countless calls, going to the front desk and even security, we still had no sheets to sleep on the sofa bed by the end of the night!!! I’m extremely disappointed with these sleeping arrangements among many other issues with unit 1318.

Another issue is the cleanliness of the unit. The dishes are filthy, the toilets were dirty and the counter tops were as if they had no been wiped down in days. There are stains on the walls, the sofas were very dirty with grease on them that was obviously from a person’s head, some of the electrical sockets are broken, the floors are filthy and I even had to clean urine off of the wall in the bathroom an wipe down the fridge with bleach purchased from a local store! The bathrooms were unacceptably cleaned with soap scum on the glass and urine and what seems to be poop stains around the toilets.

Even so, we went to the local supermarket to purchase cleaning items to make our stay more comfortable and ONLY requested sheets for the sofa bed so that we could at least rest after a 16 hour travel day! However, the filth in the condo and not having sheets to prepare the sofa bed for sleep is unacceptable and by far the most ridiculous thing I’ve experienced while traveling with my family.

We have traveled all over the world and to come to Hawaii to a place with what we had hoped would meet our expectations, is disturbing to say the lease. This had the potential to RUIN our vacation with our first day wasted with cleaning a condo that should have been cleaned. There were many attempts to make contact with Waikiki Beach Rentals via the numbers given and we were told we would have the sheets on the same day. After not receiving the sheets we called AGAIN with no answer. My family and I have traveled too far to have to sleep in these types of conditions that have costed us the price of a luxury accommodation. We choose this condo because of the amenities, location, misleading photos, and a few positive reviews.

I understand that if renting from the hotel directly things may not handled this way. We rented through Waikiki Beach Rentals. Please avoid Waikiki Beach Rentals!!!!

This "old lady" was the first high rise in Waikiki and the hotel featured in the original Hawaii 5-0. Situated on the boat Harbour next door to Hilton Hawaiian Village, its location works well for airport drop off, proximity to Ala Moana Mall and Lagoon in front of the Hilton. Though dated, rooms well equipped with full kitchen, small bathroom, beds firm, lack sound proofing with rowdy neighbours.
Also we've been advised that we cannot use our NAB Traveller card to settle bill, which is preloaded with USD, which we always use when travelling as it avoids multiple exchange fees back to AUD. Other hotels we have stayed in, in Hawaii do accept this card.
Will most likely go back to Hilton Village next time.
This is our 5th trip to Hawaii.

Sadly there is not one pleasant thing I can say about this Studio Condo. This was my experience.
1. On walking in the condo and there was a very stale smell, as if the room had not been cleaned.
2. On retiring, the bed was disgusting. A very strong male odour which permeated in the pillows including in the sheets and duvet, as if they had not been washed. Day 3 I found the time to wash the lot as I could not tolerate the unclean bedding ,
3. The Air conditioner was unable to be left on at night whilst sleeping due to the loud noise, a square box inserted in the fixed glass on the floor to the outside on the balcony.
4. Unfortunately the balcony door was not able to be left open during sleep time due to the street noise of cars and people, and the studio was on Floor 14.
5. Day 4, the toilet overflowed, with use of the toilet appropriately and only using the toilet paper provided. Fortunately, I had many of my family also in the hotel and had respite when required.
I was very disappointed with this studio condo and paying $2400.00AUD for the week, I do expect clean and up to date bedding and a toilet that functions. All in all, in my view, the owner needs to pay attention to detail and check on cleaning quality. Also, please toss the fake plastic flowers!

I had a lot of anxiety about this based ono the reviews. But it was the least expensive of all the hotels we checked. Downside? Well, there’s a $28 daily resort fee no matter whether you use the amenities. Oh well...Valet parking is also $28 a day. But the valet service is fantastic. Never seen one as friendly and efficient. These folks hustle. Tip well. Tip often.
Now, the hotel - historically, this was one of the first on the Waikiki beach, and was initially a bit of a white elephant. Ultimately they creatively carved it into 4 options, condos you could buy and live in, condos you could own but rent to “hotel” guests, straightforward hotel rooms, and hotel rooms you could own and ‘rent” to guests via the hotel. Now, reading some of the negative comments made it clear that some of the wanting experiences were in the condos, which apparently the hotel has little control over. So heating/AC issues, hot water, cleanliness, etc were less predictable. Somehow, we got a basic regular old hotel room, second floor, water view, balcony. The room was huge, clean, pretty modern, hot water and AC worked perfectly, quiet, good sleep. Absolutely no complaints, completely exceeded our expectations. Good shopping in the lobby - ice cream, souvenirs, wood art, coffee place, several hotel eateries.

The Ilikai Hotel has a great reputation, but we were very disappointed during our recent 8-night stay. The hotel website does not make it clear that there are currently no room cleaning services provided. We were able to request clean towels and sheets, but had to purchase our own supplies to clean the bathroom and kitchen. There is also only one restaurant open to serve the entire 600+ unit building, and it is closed 2 days/week. We tried to eat at the restaurant several times, but the wait time was always more than 90 minutes, so it was faster and easier to dine off-site or order food for delivery. We understand that some services are limited due to COVID, but know that it is not currently this extreme at other luxury hotels in Waikiki. It seems very obvious that the building management is focused on moving more rooms to condo ownership, and saving money by cutting back on hotel services. We specifically booked our room through the hotel, and paid more than if we had book the same type of room through VRBO, because we wanted hotel services. We were very disappointed.

Aloha GoPlaces774110! Thank you for staying at the Ilikai Hotel & Luxury Suites and for taking the time in writing a review. First off, I apologize for the inconvenience of not having daily service. It is listed on our website and although we are welcoming guest who are vaccinated or has a negative test, we feel the safety of our employees and guest are our main priority that is why we are still limiting the contact. Once again I do apologize for the inconvenience. As far as the restaurant, they are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for now. They are looking to open 7 days a week but right now they are on temporary hours. I understand the frustration of the restaurant always being busy but they are very popular so a lot of times the waits are over an hour. I do hope you give us another opportunity to service you and your family in the future. I'm hoping by then we will open up more and we will be able to provide daily service. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Mahalo, Sandra Hashimoto

In summary: Please, take your business elsewhere because when a hotel doesn't even care about people's safety, they certainly won't care if there are issues with your hotel room.

The front of the Ilikai Hotel is paved with shiny green tiles right next to decorative pools of water. Without constant supervision of these floors, it's an accident waiting to happen because water can easily transfer onto the floor and you won't see it on these tiles. Sure enough, I was walking out of the hotel, slipped and fell on the walkway. What followed was a comedy of errors in solving problems and in customer service.

I was in a lot of pain and informed the nearest security officer, who really took their time in reacting and did not offer much resolution.

I tried to contact the hotel manager, but the front desk told me there was no manager on duty and the only manager was on vacation for a while (it's a huge hotel, how is there only one manager...?). Security (Josh) just asked if someone had filed the paperwork; didn't bother to express any concern or ask what happened. Finally reached Tom in HR who at least expressed some sympathy, but said maintenance is done by an outside association and said he would have them call me. Basically, no one took any amount of accountability or told me how they would fix this going forward.

A woman named Elena from this outside association called and sounded supremely disinterested. Just said I heard you fell, what can I do for you? Seriously? How about asking what happened, expressing concern, and apologizing. Since she was an assistant, I again asked to speak with the manager and was told he is out on vacation for two weeks and she would have him call me in two weeks.

I don't understand how a huge hotel and organization can mismanage a problem so thoroughly. Meanwhile, I'm still in a lot of pain in my knee and no one seems to care.

Aloha ela26dc! Thank you for staying at the Ilikai Hotel. I do apologize if you felt your situation was not a priority but Thom did refer you to the right person as Elena works for the association. I understand during that time, the GM of the association was on vacation. The Ilikai Hotel is a big hotel and we have different entities managing units and common areas so we don't just have 1 manager. I believe you were staying with the Waikiki Marina Resort? if you feel as though things were not rectified, I would reach out to the company you booked through or maybe speak to the association once again. My friend and I stayed in suite # 2118 for a week. The room had two double beds, living room with couch and TV, a fully equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom, and free wifi.
We also enjoyed the huge balcony with an amazing view of the ocean and Duke Kahanamoku lagoon (in front of the Hilton). Just off the main Waikiki strip (walking distance), it was a great location, minutes to the beach and minutes to Kalakaua Ave.
This facility also has two pools, one on the ground/lobby level, and one on the second floor that's great for sunbathing. There's a coffee shop, restaurant and delicious ice cream from Dave's Ice Cream... which we patronized EVERY DAY :)
Highly recommend this location for its value.

You can’t hear the elevators, but yes it can be a little awkward sometimes with the neighbours as you literally can see in their apartment as they can you. But you learn to be respectful and cautious on making sure you are fully dressed at times of the day.

Must use valet service. We park in the paid lot above the Red Lobster on the corner ( less expensive and still close). No tipping, come and go on your own time.

Based upon statements from employees as well as long term guests of Ilikai Hotel and Luxury Suites the elevators are frequently dysfunctional forcing people to walk the concrete stairs, which are somewhat dank, dirty, steep and concrete constructed lending to significant effort and difficulty if you have to carry luggage up and down these stairs.

Hi, as far as I know the 2nd floor Lani's do get sun during the day. I would mail the Hotel and ask about 2 double beds. I know that some of the privately owned Condo's do have 2 double beds. Check out some of the other booking companies for information.
