We live in this building and find it to be very convenient. One can walk to Ala Moana for amazing shopping, restaurants and beaching or stay in Waikiki for restaurants at Hilton Hawaiian Village. This place is right on the main street of Kalakaua. It does not get better than this. I take the bus to work as I find it faster and easier than worrying about a car and parking. To the people who rated this as a hotel, those are Airbnb's, please complain to your host. Do not give our nice, cute, well-located building full of Aloha a bad reputation.

The Kalakauan (on Kalakaua Ave.) is not a hotel but a condominium structure with several units available on a daily rental basis and some units occupied by the owners. Units are about 500 sq.ft. Comprised of 1 bedroom, living\ spare bedroom, bath with shower/tub, and small kitchen. There is a very secure gated parking garage with spaces best suited for a compact car. Located in Waikiki, just a 10-minute walk from the beach with restaurants, convenience stores (2) and the Hilton Hawaiian Village 5 or 10 minutes from your door. We dealt with the owner, Emanuel Chen through VRBO. He was wonderful and made our stay effortless. The building is well maintained and located across the street from the bus stop, a short 10-minute drive to a major shopping center and the Waikiki Wall Mart - great for island wear and gifts for the folks back home. In a place where value is hard to find this is a welcome treat. Emanuel is dedicated to keeping this unit clean and well supplied with comforts and necessities -coffee maker with filters, toaster, blender, hair drier, lots and lots of clean towels and there is even a lanai with bar and stools. Kalakaua Ave. can be a bit noisy at night but this is simple to control by closing the bathroom door. …

This place sounds like you are actually standing in the street. Loud traffic noise 24/7. This condo is small to begin with and is too crowded with gaudy furniture. It might be okay for 2 people, but that's about it. There isn't anyplace to just kick back and relax. The "futon" mentioned in the ad is nothing more than a lounge mat that you put on the floor. The sofa-bed is actually a small futon. Very musty smelling and you are advised not to leave the glass door open because of bugs and the air conditioning. There is free parking, but very tight.

We booked this condo and neglected to get references. It is at the back of the building across from an all night biiker bar. The bedrrom was too noisy to even use. There is no dresser in bedroom and closet is half full of old stuff. The bathroom is disgusting. The kithchen is ill eqiped and what is there mostlhy does not wrk. Ther is no phone and the place is badly furnished and dirty. We were told there was parking and got ther at midnight only to fing out there was none. Do yourselves a favoura and stay away from 306. We are staying in the same building this year but in a far better unit.
