Great experience and service from beginning to end. Every single person goes above and beyond to welcome you to the hotel. Valet is fast, check in/out was so friendly, concierge is extremely accommodating, the pool attendants are very attentive. The only con (or maybe it’s a pro) is it’s far from Waikiki Beach. If you don’t mind the distance, this is the best hotel in Waikiki.

We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Residences Waikiki for 38 nights (January 11, 2023 to February 18, 2023) to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary and our Job Retirements. Service right from when we booked on July 1, 2022 through to when we checked out on February 18, 2023 was absolutely STELLAR. We booked with Farrah Truong; she was fantastic and looked after ensuring we were provided with every request we had (a television in the living room and one in the bedroom, a dresser and large closet to put our clothes away rather than leaving them in our suitcases for the 38 night stay, a regular coffee machine rather than the Keurig machine, and a higher floor). When we arrived at the resort, we were both very surprised and very pleased that we were upgraded from a Deluxe Ocean View Suite to a Grand Ocean View Suite (what a fantastic room - separate bedroom, two bathrooms, very large balcony, much larger square footage). In addition to the room upgrade, there was a large charcuterie board with crackers, bottle of red wine, and two bags of Hawaiian coffee for our regular coffee machine that was left for us, in addition to a beautiful card from Guest Services welcoming us to the Ritz-Carlton Residneces Waikiki to celebrate our anniversary and retirements......first class service overall!! I was also surprised on the morning of February 6th (my 67th birthday) by a phone call to the room when we were having coffee on the balcony. They were wondering if we would b in the room in the next little while; within minutes, there was a knock on our door. When I opened the door, there were three lovely ladies from Guest Services with a white linen covered cart; on the cart was a tiramisu birthday cake with a little sign wishing me a Happy Birthday, in addition to a beautiful Hawaiian lei, and a birthday card signed by the entire Guest Services Team. The trio of ladies then sang Happy Birthday to me; this was such a surprise to me, that I was choked up with how professional the staff are at this resort.

Have the highest regard for the Ritz Carlton Residences in Waikiki which many misunderstand expecting a regular full Ritz Carlton Hotel experience. It’s really for lack of detailed description and the sake of simplicity one part luxury high rise condo meets a hotel like experience. Once you set your expectations accordingly it’s a solid experience. The standard Marriott elite benefits do not fully apply as the rooms and suites are privately owned. This adds a layer of confusion but shouldn't persuade you to not stay as the property makes up for it many other ways. Have been staying here on and off for years and on my very first stay I had some concerns and impressively the GM Mr. Doug Chang personally picked up the phone to call me and take ownership after departure. That is just one mark of solid leadership listening to the guest and impressively offering solutions. It helps that he has been in charge for well over a half decade now. Having lifetime Titanium status with Marriot Bonvoy for decades we guests have very high expectations. With all the recent years of challenge many of us have been coming to expect less in experience The property is a testament to polish and excellence not typically found at most local area properties’ Chang has a lovely team still at least from those we interacted with. Honolulu in particular is challenged by large old tired convention hotels and large crowds and lines most everywhere you go. It’s mostly impersonal with all the charm of an airport check in and subpar offerings for the masses plus a beach. Many of the area properties offer dated non renovated or limited refreshed rooms and suites for high pricing due to demand. Here is a civilized calming quiet and serene luxury experience with modern comfort Very minor disappointments: Elevators can be confusing at times with their overly automated system. Special note dining does not earn Bonvoy points and it is not noted anywhere or mentioned at any point of contact or signage. By all means enjoy the experience just be aware it’s a non-participating restaurant when charged to the room. In the future I would use a different credit card while dining there rather than charge to the room What we loved: No Offensive Resort Fees Our large glass walled terrace with dead on breathtaking ocean & city views Be advised this is not a beachfront hotel but that is to our own personal preference. Of course, beach access can be had locally Newspapers delivered daily of your choice ( A lost hospitality art form) The very thoughtful Sumin in Guest Relations reached out before our stay and took note that we were celebrating a family members 35th birthday. How many times have I gone to a hotel celebrating something and the conversation was almost a waste of time. Not here.@ arrival our stay was made with our perfectly appointed accommodations that felt more like a mini suite. There were gorgeous festive balloons on the bed tied together in a bow and a silver banner across the bed stating Happy Birthday as well as a welcome amenity of cheese, crackers and fruit with card attached. And many bottles of premium Fiji water.I wish more hotels would do this in this penny pinching mostly fake green world movement. This lovely gesture was the highlight of our time anywhere on our Aloha journey. Can share with other top tier Bonvoy elites don't be hesitant to book here just because they don't offer complimentary elite suite upgrades. I was initially. The deluxe rooms are lovely reasonably large with marble kitchens with Miele appliances laundry areas and luxury bathrooms. I’ve never been assigned a bad falling apart room described by a few others .If I did, I would simply ask for a room change. I have always stayed in & requested the newer tower which is just lovely. Breakfast is expensive but very good with kind heartfelt service. Their fitness center is one of the best in the area and unlike my first stay years ago there is no more usage as in the past of overpowering perfume and scent. Hopefully this is the new norm. In closing a shout out to Debbie, I think the front desk /Office manager? who after check out jumped to make things right above and beyond with a miscommunication. Having been in most the major properties in Honolulu over the decades this a breath of fresh air in a sea of stale others. My sincere thanks to the property for making our occasion one to long remember. The guests we typically encountered were well behaved sophisticated & affluent on average that want comfort privacy and quiet in an upscale setting If you can afford the property, it is highly recommended

Having stayed at multiple Ritz-Carlton properties, I can attest that the rooms here do not meet the standards I expect of a luxury hotel. The carpet in the room was heavily stained and disgusting. The cabinetry appeared beat up and in need of replacement. The balcony needed something, because despite the ocean view, I had no desire to sit out there. The staff was attentive and kind, in line with what one expects at a Ritz-Carlton. The pool area was nice, but small. As an Ambassador Elite Marriott Bonvoy member, we were disappointed that they were unable to offer us a late check out, like not even an extra hour. Overall I would not recommend this property until they do some updates.

It’s expensive but worth every penny. From valet to reception to restaurant staff, the level of service was excellent. We booked a suite through Amex and were upgraded to a stunning ocean view 2 bedroom unit on the 26th floor. It was expansive living, dining, kitchen and laundry. The a la crate breakfast at La Vie was the best we had in our week which also included stays at turtle bay resort and Halekulani. Do not miss the lemon ricotta pancakes, they are a dream. We also ate at Quiora one night, great craft cocktails and food. Shout out to the pool staff who were fabulous. Look forward to our return.

Our first stay at the RC Waikiki. We booked a 3 night stay at the RC through Costco after a 5 night stay at the oceanfront Moana. We are so glad that we did! We were initially hesitant since it was not on the beach, it is in fact a 15 minute walk to the beach. It was nice to get away from the beachside crowds and the general vibe and service was top notch at RC. We were met by a young woman Halle, who informed us that our Grand Oceanview room was no longer available. Before I could speak, she graciously upgraded us to a spectacular 2 bedroom suite, talk about service rescue! Well done! We loved the 2 huge bathrooms (after spending 5 nights at the beautiful Moana and it's tiny bathroom), washer/dryer and kitchen. The Island grill and Dean & Deluca had some grocery items that can be quickly prepared in the kitchen. This was especially convenient. The pool service was fabulous. Our attendant Vince was so kind. Unlike the beachside resorts, we did not have to hunt and find pool chairs. Vince quickly was able to secure and "prep" them with towels for us. The attendants came by every half hour to refill our ice water. I like that they had an adult and kids pool. We had breakfast at their restaurant Le Vie. The pancakes were excellent, the "Japanese breakfast" was so so (The Mitsuwa Marketplace in the International Market had a Japanese breakfast that was excellent and a third of the price). The only improvement feedback I have is that there was not an actual greeter to assist us when we pulled up. We hauled all of our luggage to the elevators which was confusing to use. It really does set the tone for service and for first impressions. Also, the hot tub could use a good scrubbing on the tiles, it was slippery, I assume it may be due to all the sunscreen that is used by patrons. Overall, a great stay and 2 of my friends have now booked at the RC Waikiki based on my recommendation.

We just got back from a 9 night stay, and were very happy with everything about it. The staff was very friendly, helpful and when out of there way to make you feel at home. Our room had a little kitchenette, a beautiful view of the water (its not beachside though so a few small buildings but still saw every sunset from our balcony), the bed was very comfy and a huge bathroom with a soaker tub. All in all a beautiful room, great location with Luxury Row right at your finger tips and not a long walk to the beach at all.

Third time staying at the Ritz Waikiki, and enjoyed our stay every time. Nice location especially if you plan to do some shopping in Hawaii, luxury stores are located just a few minutes away. The room was clean, and big, with a pretty view. And having a washer and dryer in the room is so so so convenient! The staff is also very polite and friendly. They used to give a stuff animal to our daughter during the check-in but not this time. Just one thing: If I remember well, the in-room dining ends at 9pm. So if you're hungrier (and want a late snack) or didn't eat yet, you will have to order a delivery.

Spacious, clean, comfortable accommodations, with outstanding service. The staff was consistently warm, welcoming, friendly, and professional, anticipating our every need. We noticed, and appreciated, that each staff member, whether valet, concierge, bellhop, housekeeper, or pool attendant, called us by name. We enjoyed the balcony in our room, overlooking Waikiki and the ocean. The stay is pricey, but if it's in your budget, it's worth the splurge. Highly recommend!
