This hotel did not live up to expectations set on their website. Our room was dated and weathered. Felt like a motel 6 that had been updated 10 years ago. The location was good, but could not get pass the state of our room. I would not stay here again.

Hi Nhfrazier, Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your stay. We are so sorry we didn't meet your expectations. Our little retro-motor-inn with its onsite spa in a historic building, only indoor heated hotel pool on the island, free bikes and local, organic body care products, is a work in progress, a labor of love. Every year we set time and money aside to upgrade, renovate, add new furniture, build new gardens. It's not for everyone, we know. Thank you for giving us a try. If you are ever in our neck of the woods again, please stop by and check out what all is new. Thank you so much for your visit and your support this year. We appreciate it. Sincerely, Steffi Wehner

Stayed for 2 nights at the Earthbox Inn & Spa and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. They have a lot of COVID procedures in place. At 4pm you can collect your keys from mailboxes near the entrance to the property. They include a property map so you can get around. My room was very clean and included extra towels & sheets if needed. I booked a room with an AC unit and was so thankful to have the cool air during the night. The rooms are on the smaller side but very comfortable. I had a large bathroom with a jet tub. I loved the bath products featuring the local lavender farm on the island. The location is excellent just a few block walk to the waterfront/ferry dock. They have complimentary parking and I parked right in front of my room. There are various areas around the property to sit and enjoy the summer weather. My friend and I enjoyed sitting at the tables near the pool for an outdoor lunch and playing games at night. The pool and hot tub are closed currently but they have bikes onsite for guests to use during their stay. The spa is open for limited services. I had a lovely massage. They had safety procedures in place taking my temperature and both myself and the massage therapist were wearing masks.

My friend and I stayed here for three nights. It was one of a few places where we could find two beds. Check-in was all done online and was an interesting process. I had to sign off on several agreements and give them my payment through email; they then sent info to pick up keys, directions, etc. The staff was very responsive to questions and concerns through text but you don’t see them in person. We walked with our suitcases from the ferry - it’s about a 4 block walk uphill so not difficult but be prepared. The site is lovely and well cared for with gardens, benches, etc. The room had two queens and was spacious. We stayed in room 201, on the end of the unit. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. One of the niceties in the room is the lavender products from nearby Pelindaba Fields - there were soaps, lotions, shampoo, conditioner and body wash, all with the scents of lavender. We loved it but those with sensitivities might request different products in advance. There was an issue for us that was disappointing - we were not able to access the WiFi provided. We texted with the staff and they offered some ideas but still no service. They told us that we were the only ones reporting a problem but we ran into someone else who had stayed there and they also had no service in their room. It was possible to connect by the front office and sometimes it lasted until we got to our rooms but quickly disappeared. For some, the lack of internet might not be a problem but for those who need to be connected, don’t depend on WiFi! Overall, we were satisfied with our stay.

Hi Sandra, Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your experience. We are so happy you liked our place, staff and amenities. We are so sorry about the wifi. You are correct, we had two complaints over the weekend and something must not be right. Our IT guy is working on it and we'll get to the bottom of this, I promise. Thank you so much for letting us know. Thank you for your visit and your support this year. Please come back soon. Sincerely, Steffi Wehner, Communications Manager

This inn has a great location, centrally located and walking distance to all the Friday Harbor shops and restaurants. Lots of attention to COVID cleanliness, and since each room has its own entry, there are no shared common spaces. Contactless check-in as well. Plenty of parking. We had a nice stay and look forward to coming back.

We stayed in the Wind place which is the free standing house. It was perfect for our family. My husband, daughter and myself were there. Downstairs is a large room with the king size bed. The sheets were soft and the comforter was comfy. The first night we left the windows open and it was noisy in the morning because it’s right up against a rather busy street, but we closed the windows after that and there was no problem. Besides, it got a little chilly in the morning. Upstairs was the other large room with two twin beds which were perfect for my daughter and sister. There is also a tv room that has a little futon which would work for a kid. The tv has cable, but the reception was not real clear. Maybe something just wasn’t hooked up right. There is a complete bathroom with plush towels and a nice bathtub and separate shower. There is also a half bathroom right next to it. All the fixtures in the house have been updated and are quite modern. The kitchen was fine with enough utensils for cooking. We called and asked for a broiler pan and housekeeping brought it to our door. The table seats four very comfortably. We even had a nice dinner of fresh crab bought right at the harbor downtown. This place is close to everything in the town. The free cruiser bikes are a nice plus too. It also has an outdoor seating arrangement in the grass that was very pleasant. The house was extremely clean and we thought it was a perfect place to stay during our trip. The only con is there is a two inch step at the start of the hallway. My sister tripped and fell pretty hard. My husband said a $20 handicapped wedge put in there would fix it. We just left a pillow on the floor there so it would remind us not to trip.
