Lovely cabins and lodge. Cabins are comfortable and clean with real wood fireplaces. Even some that are pet friendly. This is our go to place when we are in Estes. Elk frequent along with marmots. Reasonable pricing for what you get, especially in the winter.

There is a trail that heads up the mountain behind the cabins - not an "official trail" bit actually a path made by elk and sheep when they come down. McGregor's is very close to the northern entrance to the park - on US34... More

Yes There are a few. We actually went to Nicky's as it was very close and was great! I would ask the front desk what is open during the season you are there.
