The lodge is ideally located in the heart of Estes Park on the north side of Prospect Mountain and only minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park. Breathtaking mountain views surround you making this the prefect location for your mountain wedding. The landscape of Rocky Mountain National Park is the steepest in the United States. Sixty mountain peaks over 12,000 feet high result in world-renown scenery and provide challenges for hikers and climbers. The extreme topography creates an amazing range of ecological zones within a short distance, similar to the changes that would be seen in a drive from Denver to northern Alaska.

We had our wedding here a couple weeks ago and absolutely loved our experience! My husband and I set up a room block for our guests and they had a wonderful time, as well. The rooms were clean and the staff was fantastic! And you can't beat the beautiful area with a fantastic view. This was our second time staying at Historic Crags Lodge, and we look forward to going back!

Booked the Crag's Lodge to celebrate my in-laws 50th anniversary with 3 families total ranging in age from 7 to 76. We absolutely loved it. The lodge itself is charming. The lobby, dining room and game room were so cozy with several beautiful stone fireplaces (I want to go back in the wintertime). Located up on the hill (but walking distance into town), the lodge and restaurant have spectacular views. The pool area is great and well maintained. My kids loved the game room with pool table. Best of all was the staff. We had an issue with the 3rd party we booked through and one of the staff spent hours pulling strings and making sure our vacation went off without a hitch. We are so grateful! While in Estes, we hiked at Rocky Mountain National Park, rafted on the Colorado river, road horses, saw Elk, Moose, Bald Eagles, Coyotes and more. It is one of the most beautiful places in the world. If you go in summer, make sure to make restaurant reservations in advance.

This is a historic lodge in a beautiful setting. It is a quiet place to stay. If you like modern style this is not the place for you. There are some things they could do to help the aesthetics but the past year and a half of COVID has made it hard to get help.

We had a nice time. Although, there is only one tv and it’s located in the living room area without one in the bedroom. At least in our room #309 we normally fall Asleep to TV. No big deal it’s a nice place to lay your head. Rest of our time was spent in the Rocky Mountains. Beautiful!

We chose this hotel for a romantic weekend away from Denver where we live. Both of us have been to Estes Park many times but never stayed at the Historic Crags. We are getting married in Spring 2022 so we were also scouting out a place for the wedding. When we arrived, the two friendly reception clerks advised that our rate for two nights was $520, including taxes and a $12 per night "resort fee." The resort fee is apparently an upcharge for the open hot tub, which is beautiful, and the dishwashing soap and slow WIFI. Our room on the 3rd floor did have a gorgeous view. So imagine our surprise when we were charged a $200 deposit on top of the hotel stay (two adults in their 50s). Willing to let that slide, we were stunned when we went to check out on Sunday morning and called the front desk to see if we couTld check out "late," around 11 a.m.. The front desk clerk, Foryoh, told me flatly, "No. We are overbooked and understaffed." There you go. I've seen nicer service at Motel 6. So we checked out (there was a line because yes, everyone gets kicked out at 10 a.m. on Sundays I guess.) The clerk asked me if I truly wanted a printout of my receipt. I said I did and we departed. Their restaurant is not open. The mattress is cheap, even though the sheets and pillows are high quality and soft. The building itself is older and is in sore need of a paint job and the fireplace was never even lit during our entire stay. All of which I understand but if the two day stay charge is over $500, during COVID-19, they may want to move check out time from 10 a.m. on Sundays. We were looking forward to a relaxing Sunday morning and instead we will choose another place to stay next time we're in Estes Park.
