I was flying through Salt Lake on my way home on Oct 21 when an unexpected database outage grounded all flights in and out of the airport. My flight cancelled, I was fortunate to find this hotel instead of being stuck overnight in the terminal. I arrived with another traveler also stranded. We both checked into our rooms very quickly. We then met at the restaurant/bar area. From there, I watched a steady stream of customers arrive, most of whom had not planned to stay but found themselves there the same as me. Despite the fact that the hotel was mot prepared for all of us, the staff pivoted and took great care of us. The service in the restaurant was great, the margaritas helping to take the sting out of being stuck overnight. I signed up for the free shuttle for 6am to catch my 8am flight. The staff had also made sure that the breakfast area was open and we were encouraged to grab food/snacks before leaving. The room was clean and comfortable, and it was comfortable. More than that though, was the ability of this staff to take care of a large influx of guests and do it with a smile. This has been a tough road for all of us; many service/hospitality industries are hurting for people. I don't know if this hotel had the staffing it usually does on a Monday night outside of ski season, but I do know that they did a great job accommodating an influx of customers without notice. If I need to stay in Salt Lake in the future, I'd absolutely stay here again. Bravo team.

They refused to change my room even though i felt unsafe. I didn’t go into the room or anything and I asked for a room switch he did not even look for availability before telling me no because they were full. I then went online to book a room and there was availability so I knew he LIED and I went back to the front where he was booking new rooms to other guests on the same cancelled flight. After waiting in line he then told me there’s nothing he can do and told me to just go to the room. I refused and requested my voucher back to get a new hotel. This place has terrible customer service and they don’t care about your safety. If you are alone I do not recommend this place as because they may put you in a room with two connecting doors at the end of the hallway and they will refuse to switch the room even though there’s availability.

Dear valued guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am shocked to hear about the situations you encountered and would like to deeply apologize. I also would like to ensure you that comments like yours are not taken lightly and will be addressed immediately with our entire team. The description of your stay is highly unusual and does not represent the level of high standards we all aim to achieve. We do hope you allow us another opportunity on a future stay to show you, how we used your overall comments to improve. Sincerely, Management

This place felt like staying in a strangers dingy apartment. I’ve never seen a bathroom with so much mildew. Orange mildew, black mildew. Gross. The bathroom floor was soaking wet when we arrived and I couldn’t tell if that was from the toilet or the shower. It definitely wasn’t from cleaning. The heater was loud and not really heating. The beds were just ok. The airport shuttle never seemed to run on time. We used it twice. Once to drop off our car the night before our flight and a second time on the way to the airport. We were told at Check in to call from The airport when we needed picking up. I called for 35 minutes straight with no answer. Luckily 45 minutes later the shuttle just so happened to be dropping someone off. When I arrived I asked why no one picked up and he looked at the phone and said “whoops” no apology just a shrug. The door didn’t feel secure. The lock was not screwed in all the way. The coffee…while lobby coffee you can’t really have high standards….Tasted burnt and like they hadn’t cleaned the container in a really long time. A friend I was traveling with met one of the workers while on a smoke break together and was told a family owns, runs and lives in this hotel. Which is fine but just kind of confirmed this place didn’t feel like a hotel but more of a poorly run bed and breakfast. Like the guests comfort and experience is an after thought. I feel bad leaving a bad review but I wish I was warned about this place. It really ruined the end of our amazing trip to utah.

We called 3 days before our stay and made reservation with front desk. Since we had stayed here MANY times before we requested a specific room. We like that room because it is the largest room - it happens to have a fireplace. When we went to check in, we were informed that not only was that room not available, but that they didn't really have any rooms available except a smaller room with 2 queens. Oh by the way, it hadn't been cleaned yet so we needed to wait while it was cleaned. We were also informed that because the third floor was being renovated they had fewer rooms and that none of the rooms on the third floor were available. There were about 4 or 5 other people checking in that were also told their rooms that had been reserved were not available. There were others that were told their rooms were not cleaned yet. They finally put us on the third floor in a room with a fireplace. It was a smaller room AND we missed our dinner reservation because they took an extra 45 minutes to check us in. We asked for a discount and they said they would give a 20% discount since the whole situation was sketchy at best. When we checked out, they wouldn't provide a bill because they still had to get the discount approved (this is three days later). We just got the bill and no discount. They informed us that because they had found us a room with a fireplace that we should be happy. The room was disgusting - mold in the bathtub, pebbles all over the carpet and stuff smeared on the curtains. We will not be back and we have stayed at this hotel for at least 30 nights in the last 9 month.
