We stayed here overnight to catch an early-morning flight. We had pre-paid for our rooms, and when we arrived at the hotel, the front desk attendant said she had to charge us, that it didn’t show on her end that we paid. When we showed her our confirmation number, she said we had to call Hilton directly. We did, and after talking to Hilton, the desk attendant still required that we be charged even though we’d pre-paid because her manager wasn’t there. The manager was unhelpful, and we ended up leaving the country hoping we wouldn’t be double-charged. We were charged a nightly fee for parking when the Hilton Website said free parking and free shuttle. It was a stressful way to begin a vacation. The room was clean. The soap dispenser was not attached to the wall. Otherwise, everything in the room was fine. We have stayed at Tru in Salt Lake and Lehi, UT several times. Lehi’s Tru has great customer service, but we won’t be back to the one by the airport as it does not, with the exception of the shuttle drivers, which were both helpful and friendly.

Hotel's Favourite
I liked this hotel in January and came back in June. A good stay! Not the fault of the hotel, but other guests were noisy. In my east facing room on the fourth floor, I could hear a little traffic and aircraft noise. I would like the hotel to offer some decaf or herbal teas in the coffee area in the lobby. And to offer china cups to reduce the waste from disposable cups.

Pros: It's a well kept property and you can tell its on the newer side. I didn't have anything to complain about the condition of the property. Cons: The attention to details are really lacking here. The front desk agent in the evenings was not great. She likes to sit in the breakfast area and chat up friends. She didn't seem very knowledgeable and originally tried to double charge me even though my room was paid for. Additionally, I never got my wake up calls, deadbolt for my room wouldn't close, and my room was never cleaned. There is a sign in the room saying its done every other day so if that policy changed I was never informed. Also, if youre sensitive to noise (highway and adjacent rooms) beware as it is loud. Overall, nice building but theyre really lacking in service. I stayed here for business so none of this was catastrophe but I wouldnt stay here again.

Our stay was made better by shuttle drivers that were prompt and helpful. We had been traveling for 22 hours so we were ready for a good nights sleep and went above and beyond to help us get to our rooms as promptly as possible.

I booked a room due to being stranded in SLC overnight due to weather issues while flying. I requested a late check out (2 or 3 pm) as the airline could not get us on a flight any earlier than 9 pm the next day. Front desk manager (Everest) is probably the rudest person I’ve ever encountered and would not accommodate an extra 2 hours, despite room availability and my status with Hilton properties. Rooms are VERY noisy, you can hear your neighbors and those above you quite clearly. I would recommend avoiding this property.

While this hotel is very convenient to the SLC airport - would not stay at this property or any of The Tru brand by Hilton again. The room was beyond small - barely had space to put our 2 normal sized suitcases and carry on. The rooms walls were scuffed up - probably due to the size of the room. The overall atmosphere of the Tru Brand seems to try too hard to be cool - but misses the mark. While the staff was nice - during the time we were there - it seemed like the staff - who were quite young, were having their friends and family hang out in the lobby/breakfast area. In fact - the morning we had breakfast - a few people who seemed to know the staff - had a dog sitting at one of the tables at breakfast. While I like dogs - not thrilled to have them sitting inside at a table in the hotel breakfast area. (It was not a service dog or service dog in training).

I had a limited time to sleep due to an early morning flight, however, I was able to get a very good quality night’s sleep. The bedding was very comfortable and the room was very clean. Nice, friendly staff. I was pleasantly surprised to find food out early, which was a few minutes before the time allowed for breakfast so we could get some juice and a few bites to eat.

My daughter had orientation for a local college early on Wednesday, so I booked this hotel so we would be closer. We requested a digital key, so we skipped check-in. We did stop and ask for water from the front desk; the front desk worker had an attitude that was somewhere between polite and annoyed. When we arrived at our room, the first thing we noticed were the multiple scuff marks all over all the walls. We removed our shoes and the comforters and prepared to settle in. When my daughter went to the bathroom to change, she called me and started pointing out all the fingerprints (from makeup?) on the bathroom wall. That's when we noticed there was also hair on the counter and in the shower. I ran the water in the shower and cleaned up the hair on the counter. When we returned to the bedroom, I noticed my socks were sticking to the floor. After looking around, we noticed gum residue and a bunch of other sticky spots on the floor. And then that's when we noticed dirt on my sheets and hair on my daughter's bed (on top of and under the sheets). We also noticed red stains on the sheets of her bed - they didn't look like blood but maybe juice. I called the front desk and told her I wanted to check out. She asked me if I wanted to leave and when I said yes, she informed me that she had no other rooms because they were fully booked. She told me she would let her manager know and have her call me in the morning. I told her I didn't want to stay and she ignored me. I ended up booking a different hotel and we left. We made sure we walked by the front desk but she didn't acknowledge us. The manager never called and when I called the hotel, the person I spoke with was rude and claimed they would let the manager know. Still have yet to receive a call back.

The staff is friendly and room very large. I stayed here for business. The desk is about 3’x 20”. It pulls out on wheels from beneath the TV and narrow shelf; it’s very small. There’s a table lamp far from the desk. There is one outlet with 2 USB jacks in the desk area. The noise from the freeway is substantial. There is no carpet, so room echos. The connecting door to next room is loud; I could hear the tv in room next door clearly. There is a large window with auto-blinds. There’s no coffee machine in room; you need to visit lobby for that, and no bar soap. Shampoo, hand soap, conditioner are in large squeeze bottle dispensers. It’s a clean room, but seems to be on trendy Millennial side vs designed to get productive work done. The breakfast eggs tasted real vs powdered.

Room Tip: Don’t plan on in-room coffee…there is none. Bring ear plugs for traffic and next-room noise.

We had a good experience staying at this hotel which is very close to the SLC airport. We arrived early and we were allowed to checkin. The room was clean. The shower was very good. They have good towels. This is a budget hotel at $218 per night. Travel is getting very expensive. The airport shuttle was excellent. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was very good. I would stay here again.
