Awful experience twice in one week. This was booked through Amtrak vacations and all our other hotels were excellent, but Amtrak was sold a bad bill of goods here. When you get there and enter the grand lobby you are impressed until you realize that you aren't staying there without a substantial upgrade. You are sent to the ancient rooms off site that look like quarters for migrant workers and the list continues: Air conditioner units barely working, Gapps around the door that a fly can come through, no refrigerator, microwave. Truly One of the worst hotels we have stayed in; an old roadside motel would have been better or the Bates Motel. You are given the feeling that you can't afford the ' Big House' unless you can cook or clean instead of chopping cotton down below We will be contacting Amtrak with our concerns.

Hotel's Favourite
This hotel was everything I was hoping it would be. Classic style, traditional service, with a vintage feel! We stayed in room 5106 which had a great garden tub, fountains outside our window, and a nice firm bed. A separate vanity with sink was incredibly convenient! The grounds were stunning with spring flowers everywhere and the check-in was swift and easy. This hotel is the perfect location downtown (we ended up walking everywhere) I highly recommend the Cafe for breakfast or dinner, and avoid the pool area on friday/Saturday night unless you love children. Sunday we had the hot tubs and pool to ourselves but the water could have been cleaner. Background music was lovely throughout the hotel like Sinatra, Glenn Miller, Billie Holiday, etc. We will be coming back again soon!

Disappointed/Infuriated to learn of the "Over 21" check in policy when my adult daughter tried to check into the hotel room I had booked for her. Apparently stems from underage people ordering liquor through room service...and they haven't yet figured out that an over 21 person can check in and STILL have underage people try to order room service.

Two pools. One out doors and one on second floor in and out with adjacent gym and locker room. Second floor pool area has a nice terrace with a view We had an excellent and abundant Sunday buffet breakfast Easy access to city’s Tram system. Staff very helpful. Room was large and comfortable but a bit dated. Nice Landscaping and planning around the property

We had a standard room and it was lovely. Large bedroom and sitting area. Large bathroom. Two balconies as we had a corner room. We ate lunch on the patio and dinner in the bar and grill and the food was very good. Great service everywhere. Convenient free tram to downtown just across the street. Highly recommend.
