A few Kms north of town, and yes does have the Glacier View. Kitchen facilities Crockery cutlery and glassware Kettle toaster and microwave and Clean as a whistle.
Heater in bathroom, windows that open, no air con but spare blankets.
A great place to stay on a overnighter!

We found this hotel to be clean and adequate only. It is well located just outside the town of Franz Joseph, NZ. The king size bed was satisfactory but not firm. Privacy and quiet were the two biggest drawbacks. Almost the entire front of the room is glass. You enter through a sliding glass door that opens to the parking area 5 feet away. The remainder of the room front is more patio glass and a large window. Kids and adults from adjacent units are running up and down the area. Blackout curtains are the only privacy from the traffic. There is no buffer from folks walking back and forth at 11:30 at night talking loud. Kids running back and forth shouting, might as well be in your room. The room is equipped with the kitchen basics like hot plate, hotpot, microwave and refrigerator. Dishes and silverware were also included. But, we had to ask for tissues, as they are not included.

This place is old and tired and in need of refurbishment. I should have not expected too much because the elderly Chinese lady on reception didn’t seem to know where my room was🤔 many of the places I’ve stayed in have been exceptional so it was possible that I’ve been spoilt. The bed needs a new mattress, there is the minimum of plates and cutlery, the towels are thin and scratchy . It’s was poor.

Travelling solo, from overseas , it's important to keep in touch, that's not going to happen at the glacier view motel. No phone signal, advertised WiFi not while I was there apparently being repaird somewhere up the road. Tv remote didn't work, the input bitten had been glued so you couldn't use the chromecast if I had wifi/phone signal. A very dated set up, I would spend a little more money and find somewhere a bit more comfortable.

My wife and I and our two daughters spent 1 night at Glacier View Motel. The accommodation was spacious and clean and consisted of 2 bedrooms with a queen bed in one room and 2 single beds in the other room. There was also a separate open plan lounge and kitchen area. The beds were comfortable and the views of the nearby mountains are lovely. The location of the motel is good and it is a short 10 minute drive to the starting point of the scenic walk to the Franz Josef Glacier. Overall, the Motel was an enjoyable and convenient stop-over.

This motel is definitely not 4 star, 1.5 at best. Room was really musty and smelly, TV did not work and check in was "the key is in the door". The shower did not drain, so we were ankle deep in suds and water. It was not good and we left a day early as one night was more than enough.

Quiet & clean, totally sufficient for overnight. But it’s the little thing’s.. tv remote didn’t work unless half metre from box .. 😂 then got new batteries from office.. it still didn’t work apart from same distance… its the freeview box maybe… no heating despite dropping to 7 degrees overnight… curtains need fixing (looks like they were from my flat 20years ago), but still did the job… And no mobile coverage (1 bar) . they say wifi but it was totally insufficient (like the old copper cable days when it did work) Easy fixes to make a enjoyable stay

We absolutely loved this little motel. It had everything we needed. A great little kitchen, Immaculate bathroom, parking right out the front door. Very, very quiet area only about 5 to 10 minutes drive out of town. There are magnificent views out the front and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Only problem I came across was that it was a little damp.

We stayed two nights at Glacier View Hotel in Franz Josef Glacier. The hotel is about 5 minute drive from the town center. The room got working kitchen. We could park our car at the front. The WIFI didn’t connect well when the guests were in the rooms.

Tired looking units. Disappointed that despite special requests for check in between 1pm & 2pm declined until earliest 3pm. Says en suite bathroom. … incorrect ! No ice tray or ice . No Sky tv ( although to be fair I now realise it’s not mentioned in the advertising).

No pick up service but as we are located on the highway buses do a drop off and depending on the ticket type a pick up service as well. local cafes also have a coutersy shuttle when you dine with them
There are more places to choose from in the Franz Josef area.
