Stayed 2 nights within a week. One in a motel room and the other in suite. Both very clean. The suite was amazingly quiet. Both rooms had beauitful bush outlooks. We had a gas log fire but unfortuntely we didn't need it.....need to come back in the winter.

Booked direct before we arrived and can't fault the place. Arrived early and meet by a very helpful staff member whom advised room wasn't ready but could park the car outside the room. We stayed in a one bedroomed apartment wonderful size with good tv package which was used due to heavy rain. Place was quite at might and a short walk to town. Would happily return.

Absolutely lovely, clean, spacious, comfortable, plus all you need accommodation, inc a car park outside door. Wish we had a week there not just one nite. Owners fabulous & very helpful. Even booking us into fantastic place for N.Y.Eve dinner. Would totally recommend staying here.

The couple who run this are so friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious with great amenities including gas log fire and outdoor area looking out onto the rainforest. The room was very clean with extra towels, cushions, blankets etc. Shower had great pressure and bathroom in general was very spacious. Very good location walking distance to all cafes, bars, restaurants etc. The Glacier Shuttle collected us directly from the hotel and returned us there also. Big bed and very comfy. Will definitely stay again!

We stayed here for 2 nights. Unfortunately it rained almost the whole time we were there so we couldn't take advantage of our lovely mini-rain forest patio which you can see in some pics. Birds were regular visitors tho. We had a room with bedroom upstairs on mezzanine so there was plenty of space. Nice bathroom and shower. Tumble drier for your wet clothes!! Kitchen perfectly adequate for simple meals. Walking distance to town and Hot Pools (recommended!) Reception staff were helpful and informative

Excellent option for a good price. Simple and clean. The owners are very nice. The shower is wonderful and the room is warm and cozy. I recommend it very much. It doesn’t offer breakfast, but there are lots of places to eat near by. You can do almost everything with no car. All the places are near by the hotel.

Really comfortable. Punga Grove does exactly what it says on the tin. It's basic but spacious, easy and straightforward and the bed was uber comfortable. A no nonsense type of stay. The only negative is that the bedroom is upstairs so going to the loo in the middle of the night means a walk downstairs. That can be a little tricky in the dark!

Lovely cheerful welcoming staff set the tone for a very pleasant stop over in this great motel centrally located with a dramatic backdrop of mountains. Our room, Tui, was spacious and comfortable and had a back veranda opening into a private rainforest style garden, peaceful and serene. The king bed was very comfortable, there was a gas fireplace, a kitchenette and a big bathroom featuring a giant heated mirror that doesn’t mist up. Only a few steps to cafes restaurants and other attractions.

We arrived in Franz Josef on a wet and miserable afternoon. We really appreciated the friendly welcome and the fact that we were shown to our room where a warm fire awaited us. The staff could not have been more helpful. As the weather continued to be poor we did not travel far and were content to stay in the very comfortable room. In better weather it would be nice to sit outside on the veranda surrounded by woodland.
