Our room “ Tui” was lovely, large bathroom with a spa bath, heated towel rail, great little kitchenette, comfortable bed. A great gas faux wood heater that warmed the room up in no time & looked amazing with the flames. But the best thing about this accommodation was the space! Even a lovely comfortable lounge, coffee table and a great little outdoor seating area that backed onto a beautiful fern area, very private. Guest laundry. Parking right near our room.

Very comfortable family unit. Lilian at check in was super friendly and helpful. Lovely comfy beds and good kitchenette. The green foliage at our window was a nice touch. Only downside was our DVD played didn’t work. Everything else was great. Thanks for having us.

The welcome upon arrival was lovely - so friendly and helpful. Our room ‘TUI’ was clearly a high occupancy room, but it was spacious, clean and with the cooking facility that we needed. Crucially the room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Set in a beautiful location - we’d happily stay there again.

We were delighted by the accommodation here. We had the disability room with a little private garden to front and back. There was bags of space and everything was super clean. The reception were very friendly and the unit provided everything that we wanted. We only stayed one night and would have stayed for longer had our schedule allowed. But thank you for a really nice stay.

Had a 2 bedroom “suite”. Bathroom ( only one) was a bit beat up. No AC and only 1 fan for 1 bedroom. Had to beg a grumpy desk person to provide a second. 2nd bedroom was a box with 2 twins. No screens on windows to provide some air. Very limited outlets. Very basic accommodation. No way this is a 4 star accommodation.

Split level room was perfect as I was upstairs and son downstairs on a single bed opposite kitchen area ( would have been better to have this by window as noise of fridge and microwave light were a distraction) however all felt very spacious although basic. Comfy beds and plenty of hot water in small but well appointed bathroom with shower. The reason for 3 Score was the fairly unfriendly uninterested manager of this site. Told us the basics of the resort and recommended a couple of restaurants which was good . However she didn’t go out and f her way to make us feel welcome . I was surprised that we couldn’t use the laundry facilities until midday so she told me to go to the laundromat . And even then she told us to go to the supermarket to get change for the washing machines and tumble driers . Towels were poor quality , hairdryer didn’t work but was swapped for a new one. (But she told me son he had interrupted her dinner ?? It was only 5pm ?) On leaving no engagement and didn’t even ask if we had enjoyed our stay or thanked us for our custom. (The other member of the team was lovely and helped us navigate the washing machine and was super friendly and smiled all the time ) .

We booked through booking.com and requested a room with a view, but did not receive a reply. We had booked an executive studio for 2 nights and we’re put in a room with a terrace inches from the rain forest. ie no view and you couldn’t use the terrace because of mossies etc. We spoke to management and we’re moved the next night to room 5 which was upstairs and did have a balcony and a view. Rooms were large, comfortable and well equipped. The young man we spoke to when we complained about the original room was very pleasant and helpful. If you like looking at the rain forest this place is ok, otherwise I think there are better options.

Situated among all the other motels. Reception was friendly and informative - helped also when we needed an umbrella. Rooms are in 2 floors with bed upstairs - so take care at night if you have to go to the toilet. Bathrooms are small, kitchenette is OK, but you are asked not to cook spicy food, due to the smell. Breakfast in little box - this quality is too simpel - must be upgraded, please.

We just stayed one night on our tour of New Zealand. Room 6 was upstairs, spacious and well equipped. The only slight disappointment was that it didn’t have an outside sitting area which would have nice as the weather was very warm. However, the motel is close to all amenities, the staff were pleasant and helpful and I am happy to recommend Punga Grove as a good place to stay.

The apartment had all we needed and was spotlessly clean. The kitchen area is a bit cramped, but that was fine and we managed OK. There is a full oven; not many motels have this available. There was a self-serve laundromat next door to our room, so it was handy to get on top of washing. There is a welcoming feel to Punga Grove Resort and I do recommend it as a place to stay and relax. The staff were great. The price is reasonable. It’s a 3 minute walk to restaurants and the local supermarket. Everything worked well, and over our two days there, we were able to explore the Franz Joseph Glacier and also the beach area. Highly recommended!
