An amazing hotel in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Friendly staff, great rooms at a cracking price. Head downstairs for a steak for dinner, it is a terrific feed..! The bar is great too. Thanks for an amazing stay... :-)
The hotel was closed however the old hotel over the road is being used as a Heartland. It was great with really good service and awesome room for price paid. Just a word of causation that the entire town is on bottled water, at no fault of businesses
Tiny room, aging decor, disinterested staff, no breakfast, no checkin/checkout staff.. Maybe it was the after effects of covid but this place had an air of desperation, mutton dressed up as lamb. Definitely a place to avoid.
We stayed at the Heartland hotel and the service was excellent, the breakfast lovely and very large! Bed was so comfy, old fashioned bath in our room as well which was great. Loved our stay in a hotel steeped in history.
A lovely quaint hotel ideally suited to explore Fox Glacier or just as a stop over on the way down the West Coast. Fantastic staff and service and the food was good too. Such a beautiful stay! The rooms were very roomy, clean and comfortable. Highly recommended!
This is the old historical hotel suffering from covid which is a shame. At the time they had just 5 staff trying to keep the hotel alive when so much of the country has given up. They did a wonderful job. The meals were very good especially the breakfast cooked by the barman, waiter, maintenance man and most everything else. Well done
We had a comfy king bed which was great and a lovely big bathroom. Easy chair squeezed into the main room which was handy. Double doors opened onto a common terrace but with not many in the hotel was nice to sit out in the lovely old balcony and look at the view. The meal in the restaurant was awesome and definitely recommend.
A heritage building but the room was fine: clean, comfortable and everything worked. Food was substantial and breakfast was well thought out. All staff were very obliging. Tips for side trip paid off: saw 3 Hector's dolphins and found gold in the first pan!
Very clean and comfortable room, great bathroom also very clean. Friendly helpful staff. Awesome surroundings with many outdoor activities for all ages are close by. We really enjoyed our stop in Fox Glacier and the adventures we went on.
The room was clean and spacious with a huge bathroom and better still with a bath. But, the best thing about the place was the very obliging manager, David. He very kindly gave me a quiet room. The rural view was also pleasant.
