Our unit was spacious and clean upon arrival. Please note there is NOT on-site checkin so if coming in after 4 call ahead. The Shops at Wailea are within walking distance with three general store type shops for necessities. The shopping also includes Gucci, Tiffany& Co, Louis Vuitton, etc. We were traveling with another family. They had their own unit. We booked through a travel agent. This is important because I was relying on our agent to know what we were looking for so I didn’t have to do the research. This property is as advertised, but not for us. It is not family friendly. This is for retirees. The ages of the kids in our group are 18, 16, 14, and 13. The pool permitted use policy includes: No beach equipment, toys, balls, etc are allowed in the pool. Boisterous games and activities are not permitted at any time. The Oceanfront pool has quiet hours from 4:00pm-6:00pm so please refrain from excessive noise or splashing. Read that again.. no boisterous games or activities… quiet hours from 4-6 at the main pool. The kids were tossing a baseball size ball back and forth. The “no toys, no fun” policy was lot posted at the pool but in the guest handbook they provided at check in. The kids were playing but not splashing others while the adults were sitting in chairs chatting at a regular volume. There was one or two other guests at the pool with us that came and went. After a while, the maintenance person came and told us balls were not allowed at the time there was a couple ladies with a child there and were shocked and told us “the kids are not bothering them”. Beyond the pool policy, there are no beach services, no place to rent snorkel gear, paddle boards etc. which is too bad because there is a nice small beach right in front of the village. Also, no place to buy a drink, of any kind, to enjoy by the pool or beach. No alcohol is allowed in the beach, in Hawaii from what I understand. They will provide towels (and I think cleaning service) after 3 days if you stay more the 6 days. We were there 5 nights so I had to call for drag towels. If you need service, call after 8am. I called for towels, at 7:30 am, got an answering service, they took my info but never received the towels. I called about 4 that same afternoon and they brought them right over. I did receive a text the following day following up on my call for towels the previous day. Not a good choice for what we wanted. Read the policies on their website before booking…
We have been staying in the Waliea Elua Condos for over 20 years. The property is well maintained and beautiful. Pay attention to the condo rating (gold, platinum, etc.) because not every condo has been updated.
UNIT 1202 needs up-dating! This unit was not decorated very well for what we had to pay. The living room furniture and lanai furniture was of poor quality, extremely uncomfortable and very outdated. If coffee & filters are furnished so should simple salt and pepper be supplied.
We love the Elua and the unit we have rented many times. The thought of it lingers through the year and the anticipation of the next year starts about November 1. We love the sense of space both in the unit and on the grounds. The staff always has a smile with the "Aloha." It was particularly thoughtful that you stocked the ocean with so many whales.
The first room we stayed at was old and disgusting. For the cost of 8 nights there I wouldn’t expect. Stains in the carpet and holes in the walls. My wife wouldn’t even sit on the couch. Beware. All the units are not the same.
Elua Village is not cheap, but provides comfort and a location that;s hard to beat. The property is well maintained, with constant gardening. There is close access to Ulua beach for swimming and snorkelling.
We came to Maui to whale watch and relax. Our gorgeous room and lanai/deck (a deck larger than most rooms in my house) was the perfect place to eat, sit and watch the whales. We loved having access to the beach walk and the beach, but absolutely truly enjoyed just being able to sit with our coffee and the great view. The private beach area (a grass bluff above the beach) with those great chairs was the perfect sunset viewing spot. This property met all our needs and you will not be disappointed.
Absolutely wonderful & beautiful... the office staff was great and very willing and quick response to any questions. Housekeeping did a wonderful job of cleaning the residence while we were there......
Unit 1301 at the Wailea Elua property is great for two people and you can't beat the location. Close to the pool, BBQ, and ocean it was super easy to move back and forth from being ground level. The inside is a bit dated and the furniture inside was not relaxing to chill on but other than that it's a great place for a short stay.
Absolutely horrible experience I and my family have had vacationing at wailea Eula village in Maui . We booked the property months in advance and we’re vacationing with an infant . The property had an ant infestation and we had ants get into our luggage and into our babies clothes, portable crib, clothes and diapers . We were not informed about this problem but could clearly see that there was an opening in the window through which these ants were coming in and the management was aware of this since we found ant bait that was present there. We reported this problem to the property manager and were told we are in tropical weather and we should expect ants which is extremely disappointing because this was not mentioned anywhere in the listing when we were booking this property . The Maintainance came in later and added more ant baits which barely helped . We opened up an complaint with your Hyatt feedback line and were promised an response in 72 hours . After not hearing back for two weeks , I followed up with the team and finally the same property manager we spoke to the first time at the property called us back. This is the part that was the most shocking as guests , your property manager told us that she heard we are looking for compensation and she usually does not offer it for ants but because so much time has passed since hyatt got back to me , she will try to arrange something minor . Apart from the condescending and frankly accusatory and rude tone , there was no empathy or understanding of the suffering faced for people who have come on a vacation . Frankly I am shocked by how Hyatt property managers think they can treat guests for problems that should not exist in the first place, if they know that insects could be a problem there should be precautionary treatment for the same.…
