The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta has received a mixed bag of feedback. While the hotel's downtown location is generally appreciated for its convenience, guests have expressed concerns about nearby dining options and safety. Many travelers find the hotel lacking in value, pointing out overpriced services and dated rooms, despite some satisfactory stays.
Service quality seems to be inconsistent; for every mention of attentive staff, there's a contrasting report of disorganization. Cleanliness is often praised, yet some guests have encountered lapses. The atmosphere is frequently described as welcoming, and amenities like the club lounge are highlights, although some amenities have faced criticism.

Stay Report - 7/29 - 7/30
Location: The hotel is located in downtown Atlanta on the corner of Ellis and Peachtree which places it along with a number of other Marriott properties. It's actually across the street from The Eliis and a block from The Westin. A block away is the Peachtree Center MARTA and there are a number of downtown restaurants, bars, fast food places and coffee shops you can walk to. Do note this area is a little sketchy at night though. ATL is 20 minutes with no traffic,
Hotel: While fairly nondescript outside the inside is very nice and luxurious feeling but also modern and recently renovated. The lobby has a Jittery Joe's coffees hop which currently is the only place that's open. They do have some hot items for breakfast. There's also a pantry selling salads and wraps and a small gift shop. The bar and restaurant are currently closed. Elevator access is key card only which is always good.
Check In: Corona Measures are as heightened as I've seen. The guest swipes their own credit card, activates their own room key and puts it in an envelope. I was impressed. Staff interaction was great. I was thanked for being Titanium, told I'd been upgraded to an executive suite and offered a 4 PM checkout along with a list of restaurants currently open.
Room: Very, very nice. Huge living room with work area and a nice view of downtown. Two bathrooms both with showers. Separate bedroom with outlets next to the bed. Expensive lighting and new controls for everything and great soundproofing.
This was my first ever R-C stay and I was really impressed. Everyone I interacted with was lovely to deal with and I really appreciated the elite treatment. I plan to make this my new downtown hotel of choice.

Our stay was disappointing though there were some good things which I will mention first. The doormen and valet people were excellent and attentive. Housekeeping also did a nice job cleaning one time and my request for a sewing kit was promptly fulfilled. The bathroom in the standard king was also nice and the shower had good water pressure which I always appreciate. The gym was spacious and had a separate studio so I could do my workout there away from other people. The bed was comfy with nice sheets and pillows. The decor in the room, however, was really drabby (grey everything) with unattractive furniture. It does not feel like a five star hotel at all. The room service meal took over an hour and my pizza was limp and undercooked. A Trader Joe’s pizza would have been tastier, sadly. The coffee place where you can get a breakfast sandwich, pastries abs fruit cup were just ok and the wait was at least 15 minutes. The location of the hotel is kind of a wasteland with nothing interesting or attractive nearby (including other dining options) so unless you need to be near there I certainly wouldn’t stay there. Also, no turndown service or robes. Bottom line: it’s not really a “luxury” hotel.

For the past seven years, I have been a loyal guest of the Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta. I have seen many changes over the past years, and glad that such location is making the Club Level experience available again during the weekends. At the present time, the lounge is actually open starting on Friday at 02:00 pm, and closing on Sunday at 12:00 pm, if you book a Club Level room/suite or can pay for access, if available.
Upon arrival, the Club Level Executive Suite (660 sq. ft. approximately) has two full size bathrooms, and its master bathroom has a bathtub with two separate sinks. The living room and bedroom offer an amazing view of Downtown Atlanta, and felt extremely fortunate to sleep in peace with no noise in the highest floor of the hotel.
In regards to the club lounge, it is definitely worth it. Even though Micah is no longer working there, Amy, the new Club Lounge Manager is extremely friendly and welcoming. Two great people that I loved to see again, Victoria and Veronica have been working there for quite some time, and they go above and beyond to attend guests' needs. Aegean and Nia were also great, and attentive throughout my stay.
Also, I would highly recommend their afternoon tea running until May 8th with 12:00 and 03:00 pm seating. I hope the hotel considers extending afternoon tea to special holidays and weekends, if possible. The service that I received by Khaled during my afternoon tea experience was top notch, and Katrina (the pastry chef) is definitely amazing and extremely talented.
Finally, special thanks to Erwin and Bayan for exceeding expectations and being so helpful even before my stay. It is definitely a great hotel that started my appreciation for the lodging industry, and journey through the Ritz-Carlton brand name. I will definitely come back in the near future!

We booked a city view double Queen under Amex FHR. We received 80 dollar breakfast credit each day, which was great and a 100 credit we used towards valet parking. Hospitality was on point. Greeted by last name.
Now for the room. The room was incredibly small. We did not receive an upgrade, which was fine, but it seemed like they put us in a smaller room. The room photo when we booked had a sofa, while the room we received had a single seater chair. Shower was incredibly small and awkward. Kept hitting the shower curtains when showering which bothered me. Towel hangers were taped onto the wallpaper in the bathroom. Shampoo and conditioner were definitely standard. I could get better shampoo and conditioner from courtyard Marriott. Pillows were flat so I had to ask for several extra pillows.
Honestly, I love Marriott, but this hotel was subpar. Definitely not what you would expect from a 4/5 star hotel.
The staff, however, was great. Southern hospitality at its finest.
Outside that, probably wouldn’t have been happy if I booked this outside Amex.

From the moment we pulled up and Alphonso greeted us, we knew we were in for a great stay at the Ritz Carlton Atlanta! For people used to traveling, and not having done so for 9 months due to Covid, this hotel was the perfect oasis to break that long run. Our 25th floor room was perfectly appointed and the bed was so incredibly comfortable, making for a much needed good nights sleep. The lounge had live music, delicious appetizers and Anya as our attentive wait person. So relaxing! The beautiful Executive Club was well worth the extra money with obvious attention being paid to safety for guests with individualized servings and mask wearing being enforced. In fact this was the case throughout the hotel. It was comforting to see a long established business practicing common sense and respect and concern for everyone’s safety. Want to do a shout out to Veronica and Jack in the Executive Club, both attentive and sincerely friendly! Thanks Ritz Carlton staff for making our stay a truly memorable experience and we look forward to returning!

This is the sixth Ritz Carlton property I have stayed at and the most disappointing. That said, it was still a VERY good experience due to several wonderful staff members and the amenities offered at the Club Level. We stayed in a King Suite and found the room to be well-appointed and very large. Two adults with two young kids all slept comfortably between the pullout sofa and king-sized bed. We ordered room service for dinner our first evening and were quite disappointed with the food quality (limp salad greens, cold grilled cheese sandwich for the kids). That said, it was a VERY busy weekend in the hotel because of the College Football Bowl game being hosted in Atlanta that Saturday. We were also disappointed that one of our three nights we did not receive turndown service. These two small points were outweighed by the Club Level lounge. Micah runs a tight ship and is the epitome of a wonderful host. We frequented the lounge for small things (a glass of milk for a sleepy boy) to big (glasses of wine after the kids were asleep! Phenomenal and full breakfast!) and Micah was kind, attentive, and extremely professional. The lounge is beautiful and really made our trip. The fitness center was undergoing a renovation, but the temporary fitness center set up in two conference rooms sufficed to get the job done for athletic visitors. We also appreciated the jellybeans in the lobby each day, the speed of the valet staff, and little touches - like the hotel staff helping my 5 year old complete his Ritz Kids scavenger hunt.
All told, we were quite happy with our experience and the low points were undoubtedly due to the busy weekend in Atlanta.

Dear 282KD Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Your kind notes have been share with the Club Lounge team, certainly a great team of Ladies and Gentlemen under the attentive eyes of Micah, a true asset to our property. While I am delighted to learn about your positive notes, the In Room Dining experience offered to your family is not an example of our commitment to provide you with genuine care and comfort, specially traveling with younger ones. For that I present o you our apologies. It is true that the football weekend was out of the ordinary in many ways, this should not affect your experience despite the challenges we strive to deliver in our service commitment to you each and every time. Kindly contact me on your next visit and I will personally ensure the next visit meet yours and ours expectations inside and outside the Club Lounge, Best regards,

Beautiful king room with comfortable bed and spacious square footage. Bathroom was gorgeous with modern design and walk-in shower. As a solo female traveler, safety was a concern, but no worries at this property. Door entrance, valet and lobby staff were vigilant and very helpful. You cannot access guestroom floors without a Ritz room key, so you can feel secure here. Jittery Joe's or whatever the name of the little lobby coffee shop is...was convenient, well priced, coffee was pretty good and I enjoyed my turkey cheese crossaint. I know this might be ridiculous to some, but the argon oil infused complementary soap was stellar as well.
I'd stay there again when in Atlanta. However, lobby bar should stay open til midnight Friday thru Sunday to allow late check in guests to enjoy a few "night cap" sips.

Hard to fault any Ritz-Carlton property. They are known for attention to details, and this one didn't disappoint. Service was stellar all around. Property itself is relatively compact. Rooms were tasteful and comfortable. Nice touches in terms of switches, outlets, analog alarm clock, Privacy sign with a rope hanger, classy toiletries. Room was a bit smaller than I'd hoped for, especially as a Platinum Elite member. The shower bathtub didn't quite fit my expectation of a RC property. No complaints, just not top notch like say a Fairmont. Dined at the AG steakhouse which was decent, although my ribeye was a lot chewier than I'd hoped for. Morning coffee at the in-house cafe was quite good. Considering the price for a Sunday, not sure I saw the value of staying here compared to say a Westin.

There is a certain level of service and amenities that you should come to expect from a Ritz Carlton but you will not find it here. The valet lost the keys to my vehicle so I’m sitting in the lobby going on hour 2 waiting on my car to be rekeyed. The fact that no one from hotel management has even bothered to even address this or give an apology, maybe a lunch? Anything but “they stepped away” should tell you exactly the level of service you should come to expect from this particular location.
The rooms are no better than a standard Marriott room. I’m still baffled as to why there is no body wash provided. You realize you can stay in a motel and get body wash or even bar soap? Thinking this was an oversight we brought it to the attention of front desk who promptly sent an employee to our room with a bag full of toiletry item, but no body wash. Thank God I received three more shower caps. Nothing like using bar, hand soap to shower in a “luxury” hotel. It still amazes me that this day in time you would have to pay for internet service unless you book directly through Marriott. There isn’t even free WiFi in the lobby! The fact that this is still a thing here should tell you how lacking this place is. Downtown ATL is looking rundown and sketchy. Go elsewhere

It is 12 am in atlanta, i am just checking in after driving for 12 hours. The reason i booked the “ Ritz Carlton” is so that i can just pull up, valet my car, have someone assist with my luggage and be greeted kindly at the desk. Welp, i got exactly the opposite of that. I was actually greeted by a homless man “ i hate to even say this” who was picking at the garbage “ the poor guy” right at the main entrance where valet was supposed to be. First of all, this man would not leave and was talking to me waiting for me to come out of the car. Being a woman who is not from the area, i was honestly scared, it was late at night & not one employee was on site. I sat in my car for at least 15 min until the man left. No valet, noone to help, no sign on what to do, nothing. I then ran inside the hotel and was RUDELY greeted by whoever was working the night shift. Shouting whats your last name. No hello, no welcome to the ritz carlton, no nothing. I could ve stayed at the hampton in for this. She made me move my car and park it my ! Self! Then had the nerves to tell
Me thats going to be $50 for valet lol lol lol i said Valet !? I just got harassed by a homeless man at your courtyard, parked my own car, dragged my own luggage and now you charged me $50 for valet ? She said yea because if something happens to your car blah blah .. i said i have insurance ! And you did not valet my car ... this woman said to me well you can go park somewhere else if
You dont like it 😂🤦🏻♀️ Wth ? It is 12 am the neighborhood is like an episode of the wire, and you want me to go park somewhere else and wAlk back ?
This hotel should not be a Ritz! The least you can do is Discount the cost if you are going to make ppl park on their own and get their own luggage. Valet is more valuable than that !!!! Go look it up! Horrible service ! They dont even follow the ritz standards.
