Hyatt House Atlanta/Downtown offers a functional and comfortable atmosphere with its spacious rooms, some boasting full kitchens, which guests have called out for their cleanliness and comfort. However, some travelers have expressed concerns over service issues, such as slow responses and inadequate housekeeping, which detract from the experience.
While the hotel's central location earns praise for convenience to attractions, it is also a source of noise complaints for some. Furthermore, mixed reviews about amenities, high valet parking fees, and inconsistent value for money suggest room for improvement.

We were going to the Aquarium and was extremely happy we could walk there. I did not like the $40 a car charge for parking. I rented 2 rooms and was not told that would be an additional $80 for parking, and feel that should be told when you call to rent the rooms.

I have past experience in the hospitality industry . Plus I stay in hotels 5-10 days per month for work .
PROS ; Comfortable bed ,big shower , nice kitchenette with everything included to cook , drink whatever ,
Decent location walking distance to tourist attractions and restaurants. One block way is Atlanta Breakfast Club I would recommend for breakfast/brunch .
CONS ; Even though I didn’t use parking . It is $40 daily .
Breakfast here isn’t good . Some employees were nice some were rude . One elevator was working .
No restaurant or bar downstairs . One of my biggest issues were employees trying to come in my room three different times during my stay without knocking or announcing who they are . AC vent cleaning could of waited until after I checked out or I wasn’t in the room . I found that very odd they were doing non emergency work orders when the room is occupied .
I didn’t personally feel comfortable with my stay and won’t stay here again .

Stayed here under a package deal with the Georgia Aquarium and hotel is basically across the street from it. Outside of hotel was great looking and staff very nice. Room needed refresh of new paint, carpet had some stains, and bath room door needed to be fixed. Hallway carpet had several stains. A lot of noise from outside came into third floor room, but probably expected considering it is a downtown location. I wouldn’t stay there again, because considering the nightly rate I felt room and inside of hotel should’ve been in a lot better condition. I’ve stayed at Marriott’s in downtown New York Times Square and Los Angeles that were in similar rate category and conditions of rooms were excellent at both of those, and inside of rooms were much quieter.
Extra: Don’t order from the Domino’s pizza near the hotel “431 MARIETTA ST NW 314” as they took the order and never contacted us to tell us it would be over two hours before they would be able to deliver the pizza. Ended up having to run to the closet 24 hour McDonald’s after an hour as my 7 year old was starving.

This is one of the few times that Trip Advisor reviews led us to what became one of the most uninspiring hotel stays we have had. It started off great with the Valet service as they were busy but very welcoming and courteous. After that, it all went down hill. The check-in was very busy as well but the hotel had only 1 person checking folks in with no structure or even care. Eventually another staff member showed up to help speed things up but as folks were asking questions, the staff was about as friendly as a prison guard. While I waited for check in, the staff and 2 different guest got into verbal arguments with the staff members not giving a care in the world, We rented the 1 bedroom suite with 2 queen beds, sofa bed, and mini kitchen for 3 long nights. The mini kitchen was a nice touch, but the fridge door would not shut unless you pressed real hard on it, the couch had stains all over it, the TV stand drawer was broke. The beds were like sleeping on a board plank, the sheets were anything but soft. The sofa bed was in such bad shape, the springs came thru what ever cushion was left. They claim to have a bar, but it really is just a counter, with a few drink options, only open from 5-10 (and not daily) and located in the lobby. The "breakfast" is a bagged breakfast that i assume was due to COVID, but we have stayed at Hilton & Marriott hotels that seem to be able to provide better breakfast's during this time. It is my assumption, this hotel chose to use COVID to go cheap on their complimentary breakfast. There is nothing real close for dinner or a drink as at night, the immediate area is not family safe. We spent over a $1000.00 for our 3 night stay at this motel and won't do that again. We visit the Atlanta area often for sporting events and this is the first time we have had this experience. I do not remember ever staying at a Hyatt but if this place is a reflection of how the Hyatt chain is run, I will stick with the Hilton and Marriott hotel chains moving forward. This is more of a $100-$150 night motel and for those rates, everything we experienced would be expected. The location is great for GWCC, Georgia Aquarium but there a way much better options close by with same convenient locations to these places.

The staff was very nice. I would say the biggest issue is with housekeeping & overall management of the property. There have obviously been some upgrades done on the spaces but it all appeared fairly shoddy, such as paint splatters, sloppy caulk, patches on walls that were spackled but not repainted. The pool water was cloudy with a good bit of trash & hair floating in it. The fire pit outside did not work. The towel return was overflowing with dirty towels & there were no clean towels available for use. We asked the front desk for towels & were advised housekeeping would bring some out, but they were never made available during our time at the pool. Our first room assigned to us smelled terrible & there was a large water leak from the ceiling onto the bed - it appeared a repair had been previously attempted & this was an ongoing problem. Next store was a very large group of people with loud music, young kids waiting in the hallway, & the smell of marijuana coming from the room. Our second room was an improvement but the kitchen floor was sticky & had visible crumbs/dirt present throughout the rooms. The shower curtain was missing roughly 5 rings so it only hung in the center of the shower. Given the issues outlined, our stay felt more like a college dorm with absent RAs than a $250/night hotel room.

I stayed in may/ August 2020 and May 14-18. Each time the staff was helpful, polite, and followed covid policies. The rooms could use a deep cleaning but for the most part it was clean. I always travel with cleaning and disinfectant products to follow up on what the staff has done. It's walking distance to the aquarium, coke cola museum, and centennial park. There is also a night club next door. Only concern is the $40/night parking and a couple of nights my truck was parked off property (down the street). So I worried about the safety of my truck and property inside)

Travel799198, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're happy to hear that our staff were accommodating to you during your extended stay with us. With Covid-19 and regular operations we have a deep clean project in place. We appreciate your feedback regarding parking , due to our limited spaces we only have valet and in cases of when we are to full capacity we will have to park our guests vehicles to our overflow lot which is a secured lot. We appreciate you staying with us during your visit to Atlanta and we hope to see you again in the near future.

My husband and I were going to the Georgia aquarium. Great walking distance from there. Hotel is updated on the main floor, but our room seemed a little outdated. Shower could have been a little cleaner, and towels feel extremely cheap.

I decided to give Hyatt House a try because this hotel fit two main requirements - it has one bedroom suites, and a pool. We have two boys, aged 2 and 5 so the separated bedroom is key for the younger child’s naps and getting him down for bed while the pool was going to provide my wife and I a way to burn off their energy at the hotel. Unfortunately, when we arrived Monday afternoon we learned the pool was closed for maintenance, but the gentleman checking us in said it should be working the following day. Since we didn’t arrive until the afternoon I was okay waiting until the next day and convinced my older son the same. I checked the following morning and the pool remained closed. By this time I considered looking for a new hotel with availability, pool, and a separate bedroom, but with 2 kids moving all their stuff is not easy and not how I wanted to spend my morning. I decided to hold out hope the pool would be repaired by the third day, but again still closed. This time I asked Richard working the front desk if we could use the pool at the Hyatt Place down the road. He informed me they weren’t the same management group but would use his connections to get us in over there that afternoon. A big thanks to Richard for doing this. Next, and this is minor but only compounded my frustration, I asked about the laundry center and was told it takes $2 in quarters for the washer and again for the dryer. I asked for change, which he did not have. I checked the laundry center and there wasn’t a change machine up there either. I should have probably anticipated needing quarters for laundry but it would have been nice if the hotel had a way to make change. I did ask again later that day after Richard was off and still no change, but got a call later telling me they found some in the office. Fast forward to the morning we were checking out and the original plan was to get the kids swimming to burn off energy before the 7 hr car ride back to Orlando, but still no pool.
Overall, this stay was lackluster, a 3 out of 5, and only that high because Richard got us into the Hyatt Place pool. The room suited our needs, but like most separated bedroom suites I have run across it is in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint, new/cleaned carpet, and general TLC. The location of the property is excellent and if the pool was working it would be a great family option to visit Atlanta.

Not what I expected of a Hyatt. Elevators were broken, walked up steps to our rooms- could have offered to carry our luggage as two were sitting when we arrived- one being a male. Very poor acoustics in the bathrooms, loud and you heard everything. We were depending on the complimentary shampoo, had all body lotions and no shampoo. Carpets appeared stained. No reminder that breakfast was in the lobby in the morning. Don't think I will try a Hyatt again- as this was my first time staying at one. Always thought they had a better reputation than what my daughter and I found. Customer service was rude to me when I called to tell them I would be arriving late. Not at all as aspected.

Of course you can. All major hotel chains has stairs in case of fire or any other kind of disasters. Yes, this one has it.
Plug it in your maps and it'll tell you. :)
Agreed. The pool was open at the time I visited. I saw a few families during my visit. One of the families stated they received a package deal that bundled the hotel stay and a visit to the aquarium.
I do not know. I didnt take advantage of this service while I was there. I know they have a happy hour with food on certain days and they have a small commissary by the front desk. But I don't think they have food room service.. but I could be wrong.
Don't know, we're both senior citizens, I would say 18, but contacting the hotel is the way to go.
